Some maybe. But, you donât reckon some might miss the normality of being a wizard and their lives? Yeh, youâre right, it just wouldnât be very nice I donât think. Big Christmases are nice, yeah. All the best people are weird though, donât you think?Â
I always have huge christmas', me mum invites her whole family aswell as me dads and me bestfriend Pahkers! Loads of fun, I have sew many cousins and siblings that we've accidentally left a few of em at Hogsmeade befo', Merlin's Beard mum was furious. Of course we went back but gosh, the kids neva even noticed tha we left, right?Â
Owl @ Ryan
[Jace walked to the quidditch pitch, where students were practising. The sun was down, and it was cold and snowing. He got to the benches, where he saw another boy sitting.]
Is this seat taken, by any chance?
-Ryan looked up to an unfamiliar face- Oi! Oh no, no one is a sitting here. -Ryan gathered his piles of books and papers and shoved them into his bag- I'm Ryan! Sixth year, Ravenclaw, Yew?
Owl @ Ryan
Would yew wanna go watch the Quiddatch pitch I âeard tat Slytherin and Gryffindor are playinâ tat should be a good game eh? But can we get sum hot cocoa Im freezinâ!
Yeah! I âavenât I missed the lasâ couple games! Ah, I am excited! I reckon we should get a move on, then! âOt chocolate it is! [Parkerâs stomach growls] Oi, I reckon I could get me a slice oâ cake, or a few cookies, too! [he trudges away towards the Great Hall]
Oh my, Yes we can get sum food in ya, yew turkey. Who dew ya tink will win? I reckon Slytherin is gunna dew well but I dunno if they will win, ya know? They dun exactly play very, -ahem- fair, i guess yew would say. Am I right?
ryan-barakat:
Aye, but try having four sisters. Itâs a dousy. Merlin, its hard. I dun know âow me mum does it most of tha time. Six kids anâ only two of em boys. Have yew heard from tha girl since? It be cool if you got reconnected eh? Yew should try tew look into that. -Ryan shrugs- I love snow, absolutely love it. Tis sew pretty and interesting. Its like frozen rain but fluffy, right? Strange. I love âow tha trees look in tha forest, its so beautiful but i bet the creatures there are cold eh?
Oh, yeah that would get a bit hectic. Mumâs are in for a lot, bless them! Anâ no, unfortunately we lost contact after the first year she left - she was doing good though. But yeah, perhaps I can find her again.Â
Frozen fluffy rain - yeh, I couldnât have said it better myself. I love to just lye out in it as it snows and watch it fall. Itâs quite calming. And drinking cocoa afterwards, itâs lovely. Yeh, those creatures probably are, but youâd think theyâd get used to it after some time - some might even find it enjoyable.
I bet tha vamps dont mind, right? Them being cold blooded er whatever. I dunno, I just cant imagine havin' to spend christmas in a damp, dirty ol' forest, am I right? I wish i could just bring em all to me house and eryone enjoy christmas together eh? I dunno maybe im just weird
[she rolls her eyes, raising a skeptical eyebrow] You? You created mischief. Yeah, right. [she scoffs] Iâd love to see you prove it. And Iâm sure Parker would just love to see me there.Â
Hunny, Yew dont even know that half of it. We have gotten ourselves in alot of trouble over tha years, trust me. Why would Pahker not love tat yew were there? -his eyebrows furrowed-
@Nick
ryan-barakat:
Im great thanks! Anâ yer self? Eh mate? Of course im excited! Ah, I get to see me mum and family. Been missin me youngest sistas. What about you? Are yew excited? But really even if yew dont like yer family its kinda hard not to be in a good mood eh? The weather is so nice wif all tha snow and Hogwarts just looks sew nice, am I right?
Thatâs good, eh! Iâm good, things have been gettinâ bettah. Family is great, and Iâve always wanted a little sister, but yeah. The closest thing I had as a sister was back in the day, at the orphanage, there was this little girl, she was about two and a half years younger than me. She instantly took a liking to me, and at first I was just so sad and afraid to get close to someone. But the little girl really became a good friend, and I seen her as a little sister. I was happy she got adopted, because she deserved that kind loving family, but I missed her so much and it hurt. [Nick shrugs, and smiles small.] As for the holidays, I am but Iâm not, you know? The Holidays are a hard time for me but I love the snow and the vibe. Snow is my favourite. I enjoy taking long long walks in it, and it is one of the most beautiful things I have laid my eyes on. Yaâ cant just go tossinâ those words around that easily either.Â
Aye, but try having four sisters. It's a dousy. Merlin, its hard. I dun know 'ow me mum does it most of tha time. Six kids an' only two of em boys. Have yew heard from tha girl since? It be cool if you got reconnected eh? Yew should try tew look into that. -Ryan shrugs- I love snow, absolutely love it. Tis sew pretty and interesting. Its like frozen rain but fluffy, right? Strange. I love 'ow tha trees look in tha forest, its so beautiful but i bet the creatures there are cold eh?
Parker and Ryan | The Library
parker-avery-dawson:
Parker jumped on to his broom as Ryan soared pass him. He laughed as he pushed his feet off the ground, his body seemed lighter, more free when he was flying. Parker had always been a decent flyer, but not quite talented enough to play on the quidditch team, although it had been something he wished to do since he saw his first game. He was high above the sidewalk now, the icy air felt like razors slicing his skin,âOi, itâs bloody cold! I dunno if I can make it all tha way ta Hogsmeade! Bloody âell, Iâm a wanker, forgettinâ me jacket!â He cursed himself again, and rolled his eyes. The two boys were flying quickly, the Lake seemed to zoom beneath them, the black water was still like glass as Parker glanced down to it, the reflection of the moon shimmered perfectly, lighting the way for him.Â
The Forest looked as foreboding as ever, the thick trees made it difficult to see any of the creatures that lived there, all there was, was the essence of the fires they had to keep them warm.  âPahker, dew yew think that tha people in tha forest feel left out?â  The boy held on tight to his broom as he looked down heavily at the tree line below him, he shook his head, thinking,â Well.. maybe.. I reckon tha student who use ta go ta school âere wish they could go inside. But I âuppose tha ones who âave never been donât really know what their missinâ, yeah? I reckon they âave fires ta keep warm, and they âave âouses! So, thatâs good, I donât think they âave too much troubles livinâ there.â Parker knew Ryan was interested in the creatures that resided in the forest. He had seen him read about vampires and werewolves. Parker also shared this interest, although his was more geared to Dragons and animal-like creatures. They passed the forest now, nearing the town. Even now, before Hogsmeade was in view, the boy could his faint singing and the smell of home cooked meals hung in the air lightly.Â
He took his hands off his broom for a moment, he wiggled his fingers, hoping they wouldnât break off in pieces. He was like an icicle now, his cheeks were flushed scarlet, his nose was running, he had to use his arm to wipe it every few seconds. He blinked rapidly as the wind made his eyes water from the cold. âOi, yer me best friend, yer âuppose to remind me ta bring my jacket! I âave never been so cold! It huuurts!â He whined to Ryan. Shivering, and giving a deep inhale through his nose, he could see the glowing of the town beneath him. âWell, I tired out! In third year, yeah? I think⊠I donât remember.. But I know I did! But I wasnât good enough! I think we should practice more and try out next year!â He looked to his best friend and gave a toothy grin. âOi, I take offence ta that, yah shit! I would get up ta play Quidditch, yah know that!â He laughed, it was hard to get Parker out for anything. He would only willingly arise early from his warm comfortable bed for three things; Christmas, good food, and quidditch.  Parker laughed brightly thinking about Ryan on a team. It was on thing when they played with just the two of them, or s few of their friends, but to do it with people who took it seriously, that would be something to get use to.Â
Parkerâs arms were practically frozen in place, but he managed to curve up and do a loop around Ryan, then he plunged down to the streets below. He pulled up right before the ground came under his feet, he landed gently, shivering as his feet left a print in the shallow snow. âOh look it Pahker! Its sew christmasy! Mum would love it here! Could yew imagine! Sheâd buy everytin in tha stores!  Parker could feel his body warming up, despite the freezing air and falling snow. Just the thought of Christmas brought a smile to his face and a warmth to his tummy. He was grinned ear to ear when he said,âItâs almost Christmas already! I canât wait for yer mumâs dinner!â He licked his lips,âWe can bring âome some butterbeer, yeah?! âNd we should get tha lads some candy frum Honeydukes!â He held his broom by his elbow and rubbed his hands together quickly. âOi, let get inta tha restaurant or Iâll be frozen before I can eat!â
As they two walked into the door of the Three Broowmsticks, Parker really noticed the decorations, wreaths on every door and lamp posts, set ups in the windows, Christmas trees decorated with popcorn and cranberries. When Parker opened the door, the first thing he felt was heat, he exhaled and smiles again. It was smokey inside from the smoking, chicken and potatoes with butter filled up the whole room. Cheering and singing boomed off the walls,âOi, you should âave brought yer guitar!â The crowed was singing,âOh Come all Ye Faithful,â to which Parker joined in right away, it was one of his favourite carols. He sang as he sat down at the table in the back.  âMay I take your order?â  He heard a voice ask. He looked over to a pretty blonde girl holding a not pad. The boy smiled charmingly and said,âYes, darlinâ, Iâll âave a butterbeer ta start, ând I âave whateversâ tha dinner special!âÂ
"She was cute, eh?" Ryan squinted his eyes and shrugged. "Very American though. Shes gots a thicker accent than me! Haha. I wonda why she's all way up here? Especially wif this war goin' on right?" The crowd had switched songs, but Ryan was unfamiliar with it. "Everyone is in such a good mood today, I wuna why. It cant just be because Christmas is soon. " The petite blonde waitress, came back to their table with a tray holding their drinks. "Here ya go boys! Ya'lls food will be here shortly, okay?" She gave the two of them a smile, but as she passed she gave Parker a wink. "OH HO. did yew see that? She passed yew a wink! She thinks yer a cutie" The Ravenclaw wiggled in his seat, staring down his large pint of hot cocoa, the top absolutely covered in fluffy whipped cream. "Pahkers got a crushh, " He sang as he swung his feet back and forth under the table.Â
On the other side of the wooden walls, enormous snowflakes fell aggressively onto the white floor. The large evergreens of the forest were absolutely covered in snow. "Oi, we are gonna get snowed it! Look at em snowflakes! As big as me fist! I bet mums house is just covered eh? I hope the roof aint leakin' like last year. Dew yew remeba that? " The christmas before, it had snowed so hard that Ryan's roof began to leak all through out the house. Parker, Ryan and their dads had to climb up onto the frozen  roof and try to reassemble the roof. Not only was it cold out, it was slippery too! Ryan damn near killed him, or so he says. "That christmas was rough. Pahker what was yer favourite christmas? I think mine was the very first one you came too, I was always stuck playing wif tha girls, bloody murder thats what it was. Oh Merlin's beard. They tortured me thats what it was, it was torture. Bloody girls. Then yew came. That was a good year."
Yet again, The waitress came along with a tray full of food, because of course the boys managed to order the biggest meals. Ryan clapped vigorously, "Oi! This thing is huge!" The boy exclaimed as the woman dropped his plate down in front.  A large seasoned steak  too nearly the whole plate, along with a large mountain of mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. "I just love 'ow they make their food here. It's great! What did you get?"
I wouldâve assumed sumone like yew would be interested in pranks, yew seem like tha mischievous type, always causin a scene. Its quite entertainâ actually. Yew should come wif us sum day. And theyre called Puking pastels.
Well, you assumed right. It isnât a day unless Iâve caused some sort of scene. Peeves doesnât have anything on moah. [she smiled proudly, tapping Ryan lightly on the shoulder with her pointer finger] That doesnât sound like a horrible idea, Iâd enjoy seeing what you think is mischief.
OH OH, What I tink is mischief, missy, I am mischief, I am tha creator  of the word.  Yew âavent seen wat me anâ Pahker get up to. Maybe yew could come anâ watch one in action eh? Maybe? -he winks-

-Ryanâs eyebrows furrowed- Anâ if Im not in tha meetinâ place then I am wheeere? -he rolled his eyes- Tha library ya goof! Dun even know ya own best friend. Merlins beard! -He chuckled, shoving Parkerâs shoulder in response- Wat did ya want ta dew anyways?
[Parker rolled his eyes] Ugh, the library! Who wants ta go there?! I do know yah, I jusâ fergot, Iâm sorry, skunk. Uh, I dunno, fella. Something, itâs be dead âere⊠We âavenât done much, âsept study since school started.

Parker and Ryan | The Library
âOi, got it! Iâll see yah in a few, fella!â Parker grinned reached ear to ear, he heart was still racing from the excitement of doing the charm correctly on the first try. He felt very proud of himself. Sticking out his tongue with concentration, he waved his wand around and his books piled neatly atop the table, ready for him to place in his bag. With a swipe of his hand, his books fell into his bag. He picked it up by the strap and flung it over his brooding shoulders. He starting walking quickly, he glanced out the library window, he could not see much, it was dark now, the outside world was painted black.
He pushed the doors open, they squeaked as he did. The corridors were quiet, a few students talked amongst themselves and Parker made his way to the Hufflepuff dormitory. When he got to the kitchen, he went past, and into the common room. It was pleasantly warm, the area was bright, but not overwhelming, the faint smell of roasted chicken and potatoes with apple pie filled the air from dinner. The boy inhaled deeply, he was feeling very happy, if he did say so himself. He did well on his homework, got the charm done, and now he was going to hang out with his best friend, it was shaping up to be a lovely Saturday night.Â
There were many students in the common room, they lined the couches and sat on yellow pillows on the floor. He could over hear two girls talking about boys, he laughed to himself. As he walked he said hello to a few of his classmates and smiled brightly. He got to his bed, and toss his bag onto the bed. Looking around, he spotted his trunk, where he kept his broom; a Moontrimmer, it had been his fatherâs when he attended Hogwarts. Parker was quite proud to have it, even though it was old. He unlocked the wooden chest to unveil the broomstick. Lifting in and placing it under his arm, he turned to the mirror and looked at himself. A mess. His shirt was stained, his hair a disaster of wispy hair gone array. He went to his small dresser at the end of his bed and reached for a clean shirt, this one was navy blue, to match his beige slacks. He went back to the mirror, better, now that his shirt was clean. But his hair was still a problem. Parker looked at his hand and licked his palm, he patted the wispy portion of his hair to his skull, no use. The boy shrugged, he got his broom from the floor and headed out the door, say goodbye to the other students.
Parker walked happily down the corridors, broom under his arm and a light smile planted to his face. He hummed a tune that he had made himself. It was chilly, even inside, he really should have thought to grab a coat. He sighed, he always forgot something. No matter, all the more reason to stop of a hot coco. Stepping outside, deciding not to take the inside way, so he could get use to the cold more quickly. He noticed at once that is a gently raining, a small chill went up the boys spine, he shivered and cursed himself for not getting that coat. The soft light from the torched lite the pathway nicely, but when he looked to the courtyard, he could not see much, a few shadows perhaps. As he made his way to the Owlry, he saw that Ryan has beaten him, and he had heard him cursing himself, âPahker! I can âear yew!â He waved, âI forgot me jacket! Bloody brilliant, itâs freezinâ out âere!â He caught up to his friend, he whistled to see if his his owl was there, but he was not. âSew Diagonally or Hogsmeade?â Parker put his broom down beside him,âWell I reckon we stop him fer a âot chocolate, then we can go ta Diagon Alley, we âavenât been there yet this year!â
Ryan looked at the boy, Parker always forgot something, this time it just so happened to be his jacket. It was nearly December and he forgot his jacket. Ryan rolled his eyes and mounted his broom, with a light push off the ground he soared into the air. "Well, Come on then We dont have all night!" The boy called as he sailed past the Hufflepuff, he chuckled. The night sky was semi-cloudy. The stars were trying their hardest to break through and shine. Small rain drops kissed his face, tumbling down onto his neck. The cold crisp air bit at his body, sending shivers up and down is spine. He could really use a cup of hot cocoa.Â
As they flew through the sky, Ryan watched as they past the Great Lake, and over the Forbidden Forest. Tiny fires were a blaze, smoke rising from the trees. Though faintly, Ryan could hear the small chitter chatter of the forest creatures. Â Tonight was a good night. "Pahker, dew yew think that tha people in tha forest feel left out? Like they dun belong, with all tha rules and bullocks, it must be hard to feel like tis is home, eh? I couldnt imagine bein' sew close to Hogwarts but not allowed to be inside, or around it. I wonder if the forma students miss it. Ya know, like the ones that got turned? It must be hard, an' cold in tha forest." Ryan couldnt seem to get those creatures out of his head since they came to Hogwarts, he had so many questions for them and wanted to learn about how they live and feel about the situation, he tried fulfilling his desire to know with reading books but, it wasnt enough. Unfortunately the poor boy was too afraid to go in there by himself, or even with Parker. The forest scared him to death, but maybe one day his curiosity will get the best of him.
"Man, maybe we should've joined Quiddatch. I love flyin' an' tha game is really fun but I dun know why we didnt join." Ryan's eyebrows furrowed in thought." Probably because we're to lazy and yew need yer sleep, ya lazy arse." The Ravenclaw began to serve in front and behind Parker, doing rolls over and under him. "I think me team would get too annoyed wif me though, I would lose focus and do me own ting. Eh. Or I'd start lecturin' the team about how Quiddatch started. Oh could yew imagine!"He chucked at the thought of it. A warm, cinnamon and smoky fire aroma  wondered up to Ryan's nose as he breathed in, Hogsmeade was just up ahead and Ryan's stomach rumbled in hunger. The lights flickered, as if dancing to a melody. Honeydukes had already begun to put up their Christmas decorations and it had turned from rain to snow. wizards and witch alike wondered around the town, putting up wreathes and christmas decorations all around town. Drunken cheers and singing came from the Three Broomsticks, Christmas was coming.Â
The boys landed gently in the centre of the village, a serge of excitement and happiness warmed up Ryan's body. "Oh look it Pahker! Its sew christmasy! Mum would love it here! Could yew imagine! She'd buy everytin in tha stores!" A big toothy grinned crept onto the boys face as he thought of Christmas break with his family and Parker's. Every year the boys and their mums would come to Hogsmeade and Diagonally and buy food and christmas presents while the rest of the family decorated the house and their dads got the turkey's and pigs ready for dinner. " Tonight will be fun, eh Pahker?" He smiled as the boys walked into the restaurant. Â
The pub had a smokey dinner smell to it. It was packed almost completely full with drunken witches and wizards, all of them singing, very badly, christmas carols and songs. The boys squeezed through the crowds of people, finding a two person table near the back of the diner. Ryan had never seen it so packed and full of life in the restaurant. The waitresses scrambled around trying to get everyone their meals and drinks as quickly as they can, they almost didnt see the two boys in the back. A petite, blonde waitress swayed over to their table, pen and parchment ready. "May I take your order?" She said in a very American country girl accent.Â

Despite the fact that he had quidditch practice first thing in the morning, Leroy was uncharacteristically quiet. Practice had gone about as well as it could go, no injuries or huge blunders on his half, and the same could be said for the rest of the team. He immediately went from the pitch to breakfast, not caring the least bit about his sweaty and disheveled appearance. Meal times for Leroy are usually when he ambushes his friends and bombards them with questions about their life and day, but today he sat at the end of the table, away from everybody else and ate his meal quietly.Â
After breakfast Leroy decided that he needed to work on his studies and headed towards the common room to gather his belongings and head to the library. Walking into his dorm Leroy paused and took in his surroundings. It was as if he noticed the room for the first time, he saw the earthiness of it, the plants and earth tones, even his fish. It was all so different, so very different from what he was used to. For the first time since his arrival Leroy felt homesick. He wasnât sure why or what happened to make him realize that he missed home so much, but he was sure that he did not like what he was feeling. He was anxious and upset, and surrounded by people whom he had only known for a few months.
Grabbing his bag and slinging it over his shoulder, Leroy tried to push his feelings aside and to focus on his school work. Leroy really was glad that he could navigate the school without getting lost, especially since the library and the Huffelpuff common room were so far apart. Entering the library, Leroy made a beeline for  an empty table across the way when he saw somebody sitting in a corner, completely bundled up. He looked at the empty table and at the stranger, deciding that talking to somebody might make his homesickness go away, or at least help. Approaching the bundle of blanket and book, Leroy, decided to introduce himself. âHi there, friend. Would you mind some company?â he asked as he sat down on the opposite side of the table. Getting a closer look at the studentâs face, Leroy grinned widely when he recognized the boy. âOh! Youâre him! The one with the voice!â
Glancing up from his book, he noticed the Hufflepuff standing before him. "Haha! No, No sit down!" Ryan flashed him a big toothy smile. The boy who stood upon him look sad, it may have been his disheveled hair, and tired eyes, but Ryan had a feeling it was more than just a Quidditch practice. "Care fer a cookie? They're chocolate chip, Absolutely delicious." The student held out as small blue container filled with baked goods. The morning sun was now starting to peak through the library windows, the black lake glistening in the sunlight, as the small waves crashed lightly against the shore. "Sew, 'ow was quidditch, I 'eard the captains were goin' prettay 'ard on tha players tis year eh? Yew look tired." The boy gave a warm chuckle and smiled to the Hufflepuff.
"By tha way I'm Ryan, incase yew didn't rememba, yer, erm, Leroy? Right? " He called from the inside of his large bag, searching for his parchment and ink. "Gawh! Oh me merlin! Accio parachment!" Suddenly, long toasted colour paper came shooting out of the bag and onto the paper. "Thank god fer magic eh? Sumtimes I dunno what I would dew wif out it. Searchin' through this ting is frustratin'!" The Ravenclaw flipped through his charms text book, coming to a stop at Chapter 5. "Sew, what brings ya to tha library eh? School, er just bored?" The boy asked nose deep in the old, dusty book.
Few students filed into the room, Ryan hated it when it got too crowded and he couldnt study because students didnt know what "SHH!" meant. Giving out a exasperated sigh as a group of third year giggly girls came through the doors, the Library had became their new hang out spot and were obnoxiously loud and extra squealish. "I hate tis time of day, all 'em younger years come in an' make a big ruckus. Makin' it hard fer a honest student to get any work dun. I gotta wake up at the crack a dawn to get 'nuff time in tew dew me work! " Sighing, he closed his books, shoving them back into his bag. "Care to go some where with me?" Ryan smiled.
