I got that feelin’ all tha time, fella! Is it food or somethin’? [Parker looked to the food, hearing his stomach grumble]

Yeah, unfortunately many people are just to stubborn to overlook things. As do I, it really annoys me. I think it's both food, and somethin' else missin' in my life. Like 'ers a missin' link, of sorts. [Nick shrugged, and rubbed his hands together in excitement, as he mentally chose the food he wanted.]

Dearest student, due to recent events, there will be magical creatures staying on the grounds of our school until further notice. Because of our new arrangement, we will not tolerate any students breaking the curfew rules. We apologize for any inconvenience Remember, stay safe as you enjoy the school year.

  Nick has had nothing short of a painful life. It was not always this way, though. He had a proper wizarding life living with his mother and father, both capably, wealthy magical folk. Until, one day when young Nick was only six years old he got news that his father had been killed, by muggles. It was after this fateful day that the boys life took a turn for the worst. His mother became manically depressed, drinking her pain away and ultimately using Nick as an outlet for  her own anger and sadness. Nick was the subject of great abuse, both physically and mentally. The boy did not know how to coupe with the abuse other than to always listen, and stay hidden away in his bedroom, with no other siblings he was left to his own thoughts and fears.

   One day, when he was eleven, Nick had awoke to the sound of nothing. No yelling for him to wake his lazy ass up, no cursing. Quiet. He tiptoed through the house looking for his mother, to find her in her room dead. She was laying in her bed, white and motionless. After that, he had to go stay in an orphanage. The stayed there for four months until he  received his Hogwarts letter, much to his happiness. He could finally go somewhere that he could be happy. His father had always said Hogwarts was the best place for wizards to learn magic, and now he was on his way. He was sorted into Slytherin upon his arrival in the Great Hall, he was not surprise, both his parents had been in Slytherin as well. He is now in year seven, his last year and he is very exited to graduate. 

  Nick has tried his best to put his past behind him. Although it has not been easy, he still suffers greatly from the memories he has. The boy has dark brown eyes, that, when no one is looking, are full of sadness. His hair is brown, and when it is long it curls above his brows. He is of average build for a young man, if not a little on the skinny side. With a charming smile and his way with words he is someone that can have a real conversation with.

Dark, because life is no fun without some mischief. Bad Tempered, because getting your word across is sometimes difficult. Charming, because words are a man's best friend. Caring, because not all Slytherin's are heartless.

Where were you when you first heard about the death of multiple magical creatures:   In the restricted section of the Library. 

How do you feel about the war with the Muggles:  The muggles should just leave, be gone. They deserve everything that’s coming to them. 

Do you agree with the Dark Wizards or the Aurors:  Dark Wizards. 

How do you feel about the Magical Creatures on campus:  I quite enjoy them. They give this place some spice. 

What are you hoping the outcome of this war is:  I hope the Wizards Win.

Second year? Oh, quite sneaky for a young one, weren’t you? Yes, many of the students are terrified of the forest. There is good reason to be too, never know what could be lurking… I’d advise against going alone again. Bad things happen. [he ran his fingers through his hair]

However, I’d be happy to show you around, I’m sure I can take you to places in the forest you haven’t seen. Really? Well, we should go set some off, then? Do you have ones that are different colours and things? It has been a long time since I’ve seen fireworks! [he smiled excitedly]

I was kind of obnoxious, back then, some would say - and I loved to rebel at stupid little things. [Nick grinned, and thought back at some of those days. Part of him was slightly embarrassed of himself.]  Most are, yes. It's within good reasoning, but some of us are just a little to curious and careless. 

[Nick raised his eyebrow at the offer.]  I'd quite enjoy that. And yes we should! I think their mostly green, red and yellow, I didn't think to ask for specific colors.

Day Three: What is your character’s family life like

Growing up when Nick was a young boy, his family life was full of love, happiness and stories. One of his fondest memories were all the stories his father would tell him about the muggle world, the magic world, crechers, and adventures, which caused him to have a vast imagination and become a dreamer with a great outlook on all of life's wonders. But after his father died, his family's light and happiness slowly started to dim. His mother became depressed, a drunk and became a target for her anger, sadness and blame. This caused him to be alone a lot before he found his mother dead, and had to move into an orphanage. His life was not all easy, and his memories continue to haunt him, but he's trying his best.

Day Two: What is the most attractive feature on your character? Most Unattractive?

I think Nick's most attractive feature would be

His smile. It has a way of lighting up the room, uplifting people's moods and it's just plain beautiful. A nice smile is always something first noticed about a person, and he was told that it's cute. 

Unattractive: Confidence. Nick, a majority of the time, finds himself faking his confidence and letting himself think the worst.

I always have huge christmas’, me mum invites her whole family aswell as me dads and me bestfriend Pahkers! Loads of fun, I have sew many cousins and siblings that we’ve accidentally left a few of em at Hogsmeade befo’, Merlin’s Beard mum was furious. Of course we went back but gosh, the kids neva even noticed tha we left, right? 

Oh, that's lovely, yeah, sure sounds like it! Oh my gosh [Nick chuckles] I mean, I'm sure they had fun all, so it's not that big of a deal, you got 'em back safely - and kids need some adventure like that from time to time. But, poor mum, I'd reckon she'd have had quite a panic, I could only imagine. Sometimes I wonder what it'd be like to have a kid, ya know? Families are nice. 

I didn't sleep last night, and I kind of turned a fellow in my year into a toad today...

Oh, do I know about breaking rules. Ever been into the forbidden forest? [Jace raised an eyebrow and smiled slyly.] Oh, fireworks, yeah? How’d you come about those?

My adventures.. Well, what would you care to know, darling?

[Nick smirked at the boys words.] Who hasn't? I explored it in my second year. I quite enjoyed myself honestly. Though, I've only been back once or twice, nobody will go with me and It's a lot better when somebody's with ya I find.  

As for the fireworks, they're simply my favourite thing and I would probably literally do anything to get them. S' kind of sad in a way some would say. I got them from this fellow who's in a few of my classes, he's got some strings and sources. I tutored him in one and got him a date with this lady he fancy's. Nice fellow, for the most part. Haven't seen him in long time though, since the beginning of the year actually.

Ah, walkin’ and talkin’. Like we ‘re now! [he chuckles and sits down at a less crowded table.] So, what’s ‘er name again? Sorry, I aint good with names..

Oi, I say tha same thing. I ‘ad one girl, I got ta meet ‘er dad. ‘Nd ‘e thought I was too dumb fer ‘er because I don’t do good in classes, but I ain’t dumb, I jus’ don’t learnin’ in a classroom. People don’t like ta change their minds, ‘specially if they’ve been thinkin’ that way fer a long time. [He laughs] Girls, ‘re stronger than they look!

Yeah! And It's okay, neither am I really. 

That's not very nice! Lots of people are like that, and most just don't understand... s' rubbish, but what can ya do, eh? 

An' they most defiantly are! Who woulda thought. [Nick chuckles, and walks towards the general direction of the food.] I know there's something that I really want, but I just can't remember what is is. I know its something I've had before, but it's just been a long time. Do you ever get that feeling? It's so annoying!

Some maybe. But, you don't reckon some might miss the normality of being a wizard and their lives? Yeh, you're right, it just wouldn't be very nice I don't think. Big Christmases are nice, yeah. All the best people are weird though, don't you think?

Character Challenge

Day One: Three words that describe my character.

Caring. 

Nick cares very much for the people in his life - usually a lot too fast, as there isn't many people in his life left to care for. He always wants to make sure people are okay, and always puts people before himself.

Mischievous

What boy doesn't have a little mischief in his life? Nick, always, from a young age was always finding some way to get into trouble. It's like it called for him. He doesn't like playing life on the safe side - he likes to keep things interesting. 

Sad

Nick, deep into his roots has had a hard life, and tends to let it get to him.

[Parker sighed deeply] Oi, those fathers! Nobody can ever be good enough fer their daughters! [He chuckled a little] Yah still get ta see ‘er at school right?! Some muggle can be wankers, yeah! I don’t get why us magic folk ‘re so bad, were not! Did yah meet ‘er when ya came ‘ere in first year, or after?

Yes, I know right! [Nick chuckles along with Parker.] Yeah, and sometimes we go for long walks and just talk. 

They just don't understand, I guess! I reckon if they took the time to get to know us, and realize we're not all bad they might not have the problems they do with us. But, to each their own I assume, there really isn't no changing people's minds if they don't want to be changed. And I met 'er in my second - her first year. She knocked me ova, didn't think a little thing like her would have been able to!

Aye, but try having four sisters. It’s a dousy. Merlin, its hard. I dun know ‘ow me mum does it most of tha time. Six kids an’ only two of em boys. Have yew heard from tha girl since? It be cool if you got reconnected eh? Yew should try tew look into that. -Ryan shrugs- I love snow, absolutely love it. Tis sew pretty and interesting. Its like frozen rain but fluffy, right? Strange. I love ‘ow tha trees look in tha forest, its so beautiful but i bet the creatures there are cold eh?

Oh, yeah that would get a bit hectic. Mum's are in for a lot, bless them! An' no, unfortunately we lost contact after the first year she left - she was doing good though. But yeah, perhaps I can find her again. 

Frozen fluffy rain - yeh, I couldn't have said it better myself. I love to just lye out in it as it snows and watch it fall. It's quite calming. And drinking cocoa afterwards, it's lovely. Yeh, those creatures probably are, but you'd think they'd get used to it after some time - some might even find it enjoyable.

[Parker smiled happily as he listened to the boy] Oh! Yah met Ryan. did yah?! Isn’t ‘e funny?! I love that bugger! [Parker stopped smiled when he heard that Nick had no family] Oh! That sucks, mate. What’s wrong with yah, that ‘e didn’t like? Yah seem good ta me! 

[Nick shrugged] Thanks, mate. 'Er dad didn't give me much o' an explanation,but said somethin' along the lines o' meh bein' a bad influence on his lil' girl, and that I was gonna hurt her. Typical father excuses; but he's crazy, I adore her. It's 'er mum that took a liking to me. 

He's a muggle you see, he didn't fancy his daughter bein' involved in any wizardry to begin an' so 'er mum sent her to Hogwarts while he was away on business. I try not to let it bother me, but he can't take it out on his daughter for being born with the gift. But I guess that's just a case of snotty non-magic folk for yah.

Im great thanks! An’ yer self? Eh mate? Of course im excited! Ah, I get to see me mum and family. Been missin me youngest sistas. What about you? Are yew excited? But really even if yew dont like yer family its kinda hard not to be in a good mood eh? The weather is so nice wif all tha snow and Hogwarts just looks sew nice, am I right?

That's good, eh! I'm good, things have been gettin' bettah. Family is great, and I've always wanted a little sister, but yeah. The closest thing I had as a sister was back in the day, at the orphanage, there was this little girl, she was about two and a half years younger than me. She instantly took a liking to me, and at first I was just so sad and afraid to get close to someone. But the little girl really became a good friend, and I seen her as a little sister. I was happy she got adopted, because she deserved that kind loving family, but I missed her so much and it hurt. [Nick shrugs, and smiles small.] As for the holidays, I am but I'm not, you know? The Holidays are a hard time for me but I love the snow and the vibe. Snow is my favourite. I enjoy taking long long walks in it, and it is one of the most beautiful things I have laid my eyes on. Ya' cant just go tossin' those words around that easily either.
