Painting a Masterpiece | Kendrick&Rylee
Kendrick wasn’t even sure why he’d agreed to this, stepping up to the familiar studio and standing outside on the sidewalk like some idiot as he just stared at the building. The last thing he wanted to do was give Rylee a reason to not invite him back, and honestly Kendrick was pretty good at ruining good things without trying. He almost thought not showing up at all would have been a better plan, but he couldn’t seem to stop himself from letting his curiosity get the better of him. Rylee was different, and she didn’t hate him for what he was which was a definite plus, but he was still wary about this.. Kendrick stood out in front of the studio for what felt like hours before he shook his head and glanced down at his feet, rubbing his eyes as he finally built up the courage to step inside the establishment; the art that he was met with instantly making him regret his decision. “So I’m working with Da Vinci. Sweet.” He mumbled, looking around to see if Rylee was even there before he turned on his heel and got ready to bolt back out of the door. There was no way he could do this, and he wasn’t about to jeopardize her reputation all in the hopes that he could somehow make enough money to be free of the towers.
Rylee knew Kendrick wasn’t as entirely comfortable with the idea of spending his day painting as he let on. He was someone who needed to be constantly busy, his fidgeting leaving very little time for silence or quiet reflection that was needed in the creative process. With that in mind she had pulled out all the stops, spending the better part of the day filing balloons with paint and laying dropcloths and canvases all around the hidden loft part of her studio. She was just about finished when she heard the door open below her, sticking her head over the rail she whistled. “Come on up.”
