NO BECAUSE IN THE BEGINNING OTHER PEOPLE NARRATE THEIR STORY. THEY DON'T WANT THEIR OWN STORY TO BE TOLD THEY DON'T WANNA DO THE WORK OF TELLING IT BUT THEN THEY MEET EACH OTHER AND SUDDENLY THEY OTHER NARRATORS FALL AWAY AND IT'S THEM AND THEN YOU GO DEEPER INTO THEIR MIND AND THEIR STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS AND THEIR INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS AND YOU FIND THEM YOU SEE THEM AS THEY ARE, THEIR TRUTHS AND THEIR LIES AND YOU GET TO WITNESS THEM WRAP AROUND EACH OTHER AND BECOME MORE AND MORE INTWINED

Hello, a friend recommended you to me. I have two boy cats, they're 5 and 6 and met each other when the oldest was 1 1/2, so they're close age wise. Both of them are neutered, they eat from different plates and have each their own toilet. From time to time they fight very hard, the older one (Alfred) chases the other one (Bruce) under the bed and then they hiss and growl at each others until Bruce slaps Alfred. What can I do to make them get along better?
These kinds of situations can be difficult to figure out just from a few asks, there’s... so many factors at play, nothing is too small of a thing to have an impact.
It can’t hurt to add a third litterbox, the general rules is 1 box per cat + 1. Even if you’re not directly seeing any tension at the litterboxes, stress from lack of resources can manifest in other ways. Make sure the boxes are in different spaces, you don’t want one cat to be able to guard them. Avoid covered boxes, so no cat can be cornered.
They eat from separate dishes, but are they fed in separate areas or are the dishes just placed beside on another? What do your other resources look like - beds, scratching posts, etc? Amount, location, etc. Do you have strays or ferals outside, that could be antagonizing your cats?
Try to keep an eye on what’s going on just before these fights occur, see if there’s something you can identify as a trigger. Is it in a certain area of the house? Is it at a certain time of day? Is it after a certain event, such as after or before they eat? What signs do they show leading up to the altercation? How do you respond when they start up?
Here’s some general links on maintaining a multicat household which you may find helpful.

I have to take my sweet baby to the vet today. My partner and I recently moved from Florida to Oregon and ever since we got here, Edgar's wee little head has been bugging him. At night, he scratches it until he gets little sores, so I think he has some kind of allergy to something here. Port is totally fine which is why I don't think its fleas, but my sister did mention that it could be a change in humidity that his skin isn't used to.
Regardless, I got him the first appointment I could at a well reviewed vet in our new town to get medication or something to ease the discomfort for him. My poor sweet baby 😔
This is Edgar and his blankie. He loves it very much and will only sleep on my lap if I have it over me. I strive to be this comfy one day ❤
A very polite lady!
My little Portabella is known by many names. Port, Portashmella, Shmella, Shmells, Porti B, Porkabella, Thickums, Her Royal Thickness, etc. She is a bit on the thicker side because she used to eat all her brother's food, but she's on a food schedule now to help her lose a little weight as recommended by our vet. (Please ignore the joke body pillow my partner gave me in the background. The picture was too cute to not post because of that lmao)
"Paint me like one of your French girls."
I hate that I cropped his lil beans out of this one, but I was rushing so I didn't miss this truly majestic pose from my sweet Edgar.
This is my young lady, Portabella. I got her May 2019 as a friend for Edgar. I adopted Edgar from my local shelter, but I got Port from a friend whose cat got knocked up before they had a chance to get her spayed. She had a litter of 5, and I took home Port when she hit 8 weeks old. This picture was taken in a rare moment of calm for sweet Port (she is notoriously skittish) before we moved. Fret not, they got a brand new cat tower when we got to the new apartment, I was just waiting so I didnt have to travel with the ratty tower.
Meet Edgar Allen Paw, he is my moody teenage boi and the older of my two cats. I got him May 2018 at 8 weeks old so he's about 2 and a half years old. He is naughty and full of crimes, but we love him in spite of that. I'll post more stories of his criminal endeavors later, I don't want to embarrass him in his first post.
Me: *Removes my cat from my lap to do something else.*
My cat: Father is...evil? Father is unyielding? Father is incapable of love? I am running away. I am packing my little rucksack and going out to explore the world as a lone vagabond. I can no longer thrive in this household.

Glad to see we’re all in agreement that cats talk like disparaged victorian children
I am so incredibly glad we finally moved on from "i can has". Cats are clearly smart enough for advanced sentence structure and dumb enough to draw entirely incorrect conclusions about what they're talking about.
My cat, banging the cabnet door over and over and over: bang bang bang
Me: you will not earn what you desire by banging the cabinet door.
My cat: This is a test of wills, is it not? We shall see if your ability to put up with my incessant banging outlasts my eternal lust for snackie treats. Years of conditioning have hardened me for this purpose. bang bang bang
Me: ksst!
My cat, throwing herself to the ground like she's been shot: Oh! Oh I have been assailed in my own home! Have mercy, have pity! Surely in the cruel darkness of your heart there is some mote of goodness that might stay your hand! Do not strike me, I pray you!
Me: ok
My cat, after waiting about 3 minutes: bang bang bang

i think reading this quote is the first time i’ve really registered the fact that the characters in hamilton aren’t based on their historical counterpoints as people, they’re based on the words they left behind
jefferson is obviously the best example of this because his musical character so clearly doesn’t match up to contemporary descriptions of him as shy, awkward, etc, but equally as clearly DOES match up to the character you would create of him if you only had his words–smooth, cocky, showy.
this is also super important for understanding musical burr, i think: i’ve seen people talk about how hard it is to match historical burr (lights himself on fire, constantly broke, clearly a fucking mess) with musical burr, who’s smooth-talking and put-together and in every way a counterpoint to hamilton’s messy brashness. but lmm literally explains their characters in terms of their writing: “hamilton left behind 27 volumes of written work, burr left behind less that two. and i think that sort of tells you everything you need to know.” (x) that’s fundamentally what their characters are based on.
for this show that’s so fundamentally about the ways we tell stories and the way we all are remembered–and just as fundamentally about words and the power of language–i just think it’s a really fascinating choice to create characters out of words, not just on the craft level but on a greater meta level wrt what we leave behind
I remember watching a YouTube video a couple of years ago (if anyone knows it, please send the link) where someone broke down how the narration style of theater works as well as what makes Hamilton profound as a not-quite-historical retelling of Hamilton’s life. For example, the line when Hamilton says “Who knew the gods would put us all in one spot,” it’s a wink/nudge to the audience that the writers (i.e., the “gods”) of the production, made this scene up for thematic purposes and, no, these four people didn’t all meet and start a revolution over shots. I think it was the same YouTuber who pointed out that the line “And when our children tell our story, they’ll tell the story of tonight,” is about “tonight” as in “the night you, the audience, are watching this play,” as if to say, “The story of the racist white-sup founding fathers is a story of hypocrites, sure, but the dream of what America could be, set down in their writing, is a story that will still be worth telling our children and bringing into reality.”
