heard you watched uhhh what do u call it uhhhhhh Happiness fix! The game wirh the weird guy and the child-like mc. How was that?

phew ut was uh a lot ! It definitely handles mature and dark topics well without being exploitative ,,,, but , I do have my criticism .

Solar yaps about daid criticism , tw for infantilization , yandere tendencies , lobotomization , dub con / non con mentions , kind of DDLG in a really really gross weird way , beinf held captive , suicide , murder , etc !

Happiness Fix ,,, it handled topics well but I do have my criticisms story-wise but also the way it handles the topic !

Story wise , it lacks being fleshed out . The lore is not very strongly supported ( all you have is ur inferences rlly and context clues ) and some things do not align with things . For example , we don’t know MC was lobotomized unless we took context clues — being lobotomized can cause personality changes , which is true . But , my point here is that there definitely could have been more explanation . Some other examples is how when despite the MC not being able read the numbers or letters on the missing poster as said in game , they somehow could read some and called the police , which they arrived almost immediately as Konrad ( the name of the guy ) got home . Though , that’s but a minor plot hole . Another issue I found was it is very hard to understand Konrad’s motives and why he did this . He does mentioned being bullied and stuff like that , but is never elaborated on or anything like that . The game is short and somewhat falls low on how the story goes , but to be fair it is a game made for game jam , which if I remember correctly is some type of event where people must create games within certain rules and time limits . The game is quite shallow , with motives and stuff like that jist being completely unexplained .

The issues I have on the way the topic is handled is that it is VERY tame compared to how this topic is in real life . The game feels more like a mild yandere visual novel rather than what it is meant to be — the concept has so much potential , but falls somewhat short on the execution . Sure , the game does leave you feeling uneasy , but overall it is very tame . I don’t like how the fact lobomotization is taken as brain damage = cutesy childlike personality , but then again what would I know . This is NOT an accurate representation of a lobotomy at ALL . Lobotomies tend to leave people in states of being brain dead or losing control of their body or thoughts . Unfortauntely , I must admit the game does handle some of the topics in a very … romanticized or fetishistic way . It hurts my heart knowing that this game has a literal nsfw version , making it seem even more like a horror porn kink game . Over all , I will say I was disappointed with the outcome of the game . As I said , it feels like a mild Yan game , or a kink DDLG game .

On the other hand , this game does make you uneasy and disgusted like it’s supoosed to . But it’s more in the shock factor way . The visuals help a lot , the contrast between the red intense text against the pink colorful yet fuzzy background emphasize the romantiziation of acting childlike . I’ll give the game that .
