I wonder if some folk think about me and what me they think of.

Do they think of me as someone who's good or an inconsiderate ball of dicks? I know there are people I was vicious to, and I have since left them in the past, so they don't know the new me, and yet others still know me, but I wonder if their viewpoint has changed.

Don't get me wrong, I think I am completely deserving of love, but I wonder if others agree.

For those who don't remember, here's the lawsuit two years ago where Tumblr (or specifically Automattic) settled with the New York City Commission on Human Rights regarding Tumblr's terribly implemented porn ban targeting LGBTQ folk more than it should. Here's an excerpt detailing what the NYCCHR ordered Tumblr to do:

The settlement gives Tumblr 180 days to hire an expert on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) issues and provide related training to moderators. It must also hire someone with experience in this area as well as expertise in image classification, who will review Tumblr’s moderation algorithms to see if they’re more likely to flag LGBTQ content. As part of an overall review, Tumblr will reexamine 3,000 old cases where a user successfully appealed a takedown, looking for patterns that could indicate bias.

Now, on a totally unrelated note, here's the complaint page for reporting discrimination to the NYCCHR. Completely unrelated to what's going on right now or the rest of this post, I swear.

I think there is something fundamentally wrong with me. I've been starved so much of praise and affection as a child that I yearn for it everywhere I go. I form so many connections that I'm not even sure I want. I tell people things I don't think I mean, all for the prospect that someone will tell me that they're proud of me or that they love me. I hurt so many people and shove them aside in this path of instant gratification, and dopamine rushes. I'm truly tired of breaking those around me due to my selfishness and bottomless hunger. I am deeply sorry to those I hurt, and to those I've yet to hurt. I truly am. You don't have to forgive me at all, and deep down, I really want you to hate me and tell me that I'm disgusting. I'm changing, I promise. I truly am. I know I've sinned, and I'm making amends. I love those who I hurt and I love those who I've yet to hurt. I'm sorry for forcing myself into your lives. I only did so for my own selfishness.
