WE’RE SO BACK
posting all my genderbent sunny (mostly toxic yuri macden) art at once like i'm known to do tehee :) ft Charlie in a little mini comic where mac and den try to give her a make-over for a scheme, based on a conversation i had with my friend kath, who is THE person i'd trust most with writing an actual iasip episode btw.
lol t-minus one month until i go crazy again 😛😛
mac + being horny for dennis
once in every episode of s18 i need mac and dennis to walk into a scene together looking slightly messy, hair displaced, shirts buttoned incorrectly, and no one mentions it. and then in s18 ep10 full penetration.
charlie day says joyce never left btw
dennis + getting fucked up
i always get sad seeing mac and dennis go from being insepperabley codependent to dennis hating him… call me crazy, but… i like it when the when the gang is nice to each other…
praying 2 god for violence in s17 i need his ass obliterated (not gay sex) (ok maybe a little gay sex) (as a treat) (they are not mutually exclusive) (in fact the way they do it the violence ⇔ gay sex venn diagram is a circle)
AND WHAT IF MY FUCKING PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED! I am one miracle away from macden full penetration 🌟
mac and dennis alone on the roof lets all kill ourselves
i just woke up my heart can’t take this
Windy….up on roof…
Charlie is not in clearly character here, btw.
it's interesting how the moment sunny "hits its stride/finds its footing/establishes its characters" (as RCG likes to say) it begins to feel almost too focused. there's just not much to see on a rewatch, once you've seen the episodes you've just kind of seen them. there's less layered conversations with everyone talking over each other, there's less shit going on in the background, everyone is always sitting around instead of naturally inhabiting the bar. it feels very... manufactured straightforward compared to the early seasons. like, of course as things become more established, they naturally streamlined the show; it's somewhat noticeably as-scripted, and feels very by the book in a way that is often to its detriment (to me). i have never particularly liked season 6, and while there's some good stuff in the season — i appreciate it for what it establishes and personally really enjoy a lot of the episodes — it feels... different. i think about how RCG mentioned at some point they stopped worrying about having to explain/show the gang's motivations, and in my opinion that's a mistake. it thins out the episodes, removes a lot of the moments i tended to like the most in any of the earlier episodes. seeing how the gang gets themselves all worked up over something stupid until it escalates dramatically Should be half the episode. i think that's what keeps it feeling less like a one-episode gimmick scenario and more like watching them go about their daily lives; it grounds them while also showing us how crazy shit can get, the lengths they're all willing to go to, but everything still feels strangely proportional. i would say that dennis' explosive rage is a reflection of this, because we don't see him being worn down very often, it just sort of happens over the course of a scene (or maybe two), his default state sits somewhere around ~irritated~ unless it's an episode like misses the boat, or even an ep like gang broke dee (for both of the twins) that is intentionally focused around this decline. i know a lot of runners ended up getting cut for time and early episodes were more patchwork, but i think it's nice to just have something that feels spontaneous or irrelevant to the main plot of the episode.
