Panama dreaming
Beautiful day at the green river. Which photo do you like the best?
Which edit?!š¤
What a beautiful place. San Blas Islands, Panama.
Officially going to The Florida Keys with my parents after my Central America trip. So happy that I will get the chance to do some traveling with my parents since I never get to spend quality time with them.Ā
Plans- Back to school this semester- winter break go to Panama and Costa Rica. Finish another semester and then do some summer classes. Visit my aunt in Ireland and travel Spain & Croatia for the rest of the summer. Go back to school and graduate after that semester with an Associates in Fine Arts and focus in Photography. Work at a restaurant job til summer. Take a summer cross country (US) photo excursion trip. šø Transfer to a university that fall to finish up my bachelors degree! š I think that's a pretty good plan so far! Writing it all down helps me focus on what I want and makes me excited for it! I've been very anxious lately but the future will be full of wonderful surprises. Just gotta stay positive and hustle!!
Life Changes and Upcoming Adventures
One way ticket to Panama... booked! December 26th! I may or may not be traveling alone. Either way would be great. My plan is to fly into Panama City and spend a few nights there. Then I will explore more of Panama.. Bocas Del Toro is on the top of my list. Then I will make way up to Costa Rica for some hardcore jungle adventuring. Time to start working as much as I can and saving every penny.Ā
In a few weeks I am returning to community college! I am slightly nervous but mostly excited to get it right this time around. Iāll be going for my Associates in Fine Arts with a focus in Photography. Whether or not iām successful in the long run doesnāt matter to me currently because at least iāll always know that I tried. If I have to spend more time waiting tables and doing random jobs then that is okay with me as long as I make enough money to travel occasionally.
Whether or not I make a career in photography, I will use the skills I learned in my future travel endeavors. Ā

Lately I have been trying to focus on too many things at once. That's why I haven't been posting on here much. I also need to stop wasting my time on people who don't value me. That only brings negativity into my life.. It always does. I need to cut out my self destructive habits in order to lead a more fulfilling and creative lifestyle.
Such a beautiful view the other night in Rhinecliff, New York.
I made a spontaneous trip down to Philadelphia yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this little city is.

TheĀ āUglyā Side of Travel.
Traveling is not always (or ever really) a walk in the park. Everyone should realize that no trip will go exactly as planned. This is why you need to leave for your voyage with an open mind and ready to take on any challenges that you are presented with. Iām not trying to scare anyone out of traveling, actually more of the opposite. I just want you to be prepared!Ā
Just over four months ago I left for the Euro- trip of a life time. This was my first big trek alone so I was very nervous. Within the first 24 hours of my travel I had missed a flight, lost all of my luggage, and was interrogated at immigration twice. My arrival to Ireland was postponed several hours. Keeping my eyes open to make sure I wouldnāt miss another flight felt near physically impossible at the time. Between everything that had happened in such a short period of time, I was on the verge of a melt down.Ā
BUT, eventually I made it to where I was going and did get all of my luggage back! Yes, the struggle was very real and at one point I had even lost all hope that I would make it.. Ā but was 100% worth it! You have to go into your adventure knowing that these things happen but in the end WILL work out. You are probably going to miss a flight, Ā get sick or lost in a city where you canāt speak the language. When that does happen you have to remember that it is not the end of the world. Stay calm and figure out your next step. This should be obvious but one of the biggest lessons I learned is that panicking truly does NOT help a situation and only makes things much worse.
The reason for my title havingĀ āUglyā in parenthesis is because while your experience may be ugly at the time that you are facing difficulties, in the end it really isnāt ugly at all. You will definitely be laughing about it shortly after and end up with some great stories. Also, it will all be a huge growing experience! My unique travel struggles have molded me into an overall, far more patient person. I have learned how to keep my cool in hectic circumstances. There is no way to know what you will encounter on your voyage, good or bad, and that to me is the beauty of travel.Ā
āWe travel because we need to, because distance and difference are the secret tonic to creativity.Ā
When we get home, home is still the same, but something in our minds has changed, and that changes everything.ā ~Unknown.Ā
Cascais, Portugal. Definitely a place I must return to!
You leave to see the world, to move past your comfort zone and away from the familiar. To explore and try new things. To find out something about yourself you never knew before. You meet amazing peā¦
