Annoying rays of warmth danced upon his face, lingering there until they finally pulled him out of the dream world and back into the real one. A low groan was produced behind closed lips before he slowly sat up. Eyes still shut, he first decided to rub them, clearing the sand out from the corners and brims, then they fluttered open. The first thing he was greeted with was a flash of bright, sunny light. “Woah! Way too bright!" He exclaimed to no one in particular, seeing as how he was the only person in his bedroom.
Not being able to endure the luminance any longer, he sprung out of bed, heading towards the window. Quickly, he pulled the blinds over it, reducing the brightness in his room. He made a mental note to next time keep the blinds hanging over the window. Although, if it wasn’t for the light knocking him out of his sleep, he probably would have woken up at a much later time. Even if he wasn’t much of an early bird, he would much prefer waking up in the morning than at noon. The time in days were precious and scarce in his opinion. There were many things to do and to try, sleeping would only be a barrier.
Very soon, his phone begun vibrating, alerting him of a new message. He traveled over to the desk adjacent to his bed and picked up his phone, immediately clicking to view the unread text. Seeing the contact name, it brought a small grin to his face. The sender was from an old friend of his from way back, Rei, who he recently encountered into a while ago.
[ msg: Rei ] Hey! I'm a little surprised but happy to hear from you nonetheless! What's the favor? Whatever it is, I'm down to do it!
— ➳ —— ❝ Oh-- ❞ Seems like her friend had replied a lot faster than what she had originally anticipated, causing her to halt in her tracks as she proceeded to once again pull out her mobile phone. I didn't think he'd reply so soon-- It's still early in the morning... Maybe we can enter for the competition today! Of course, there was no rush, but Rei would prefer to have it done sooner rather than later, even if it did involve commissioning with a man.
Her own digits pressing the buttons of her old nokia phone, the raven-haired female begins writing her reply. Meet me at... Hm. Mauve hues shift up from the screen to observe her surroundings; looking for a nearby reconnaissance building-- so that she wouldn't have to walk far, preferably. However, she couldn't spot any viable options, and so she decides they may as well head to town to meet up. The competition is in town, anyway.
[ txt: Clay ] Really? Great! It's kind of complicated... Do you mind meeting me in town? I'll be waiting at that coffee shop opposite the park fountain. See you there.
Honestly... I hadn't even explained what the favour is, and he's already eager to do it? It seems I've forgotten how helpful the guy can be. Though it can't be helped when she had only been barely old enough to tie her own shoelaces when the two were friends. Initially, she was surprised he had even remembered her in the first place upon his arrival to Tokyo. Even though they had engaged in sufficient small talk, it seemed there was still much she had yet to relearn about the man since the years passed.
