Dear Jack (DISCONTINUED)
Update
Hello everyone!
I know I disappeared off the face of the Earth for pretty much all of 2025, except when I announced Dear Jack would not be continuing, and I sincerely apologize for that.
I wanted to give a couple of updates regarding my writing.
First things first, A Dolled Up Lunatic WILL be continuing, my birthday is in two weeks and my mom has decided to get me the full series of Gotham on DVD for me. Which I do need the show to continue writing the series. So, A Dolled Up Lunatic should return in early February, though I can't offer a solid date yet.
Second, I have been sitting on many drafts that I'll be releasing over the next few weeks. Some are requests, some are just my own brain child. Regardless, I'm very excited to start posting again.
And last, my requests are open. I'll be doing a quick updated request guide and updated list of things I am comfortable writing.
Thank you all for being so patient and kind to me.
NOTICE: As more and more fanfic writers are using generative AI for their works (you uncreative dweebs), I hereby swear on everything I hold dear that I have not and will NEVER use generative AI in ANY of my written work. Everything I post will be organically and creatively my own.
“i wouldn’t do that” “i wouldn’t say that” “i wouldn’t wear that” “i wouldn’t kiss them” too bad you pedantic dorks, you’re not the one in control here.
Dear Jack Update
Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well.
I wanted to come on here and let you all know I have made the decision to discontinue my Dear Jack story.
On top of that, I have also decided to stop writing for Disney Channel characters in general.
After much self reflection about my writers block regarding Dear Jack, it occurred to me that I simply feel gross writing it now. I am simply too old to be writing about Jack Brewer.
The chapters that have already been written will stay published. I will add the Dear Jack Masterlist to my main Masterlist, but I will be deleting the Disney Channel Masterlist.
I hope you all understand and respect my decision.
Have a wonderful day!
Are you a 18+ adult so I may interact?

The day had been so slow . Y/N had been up to her ears in paperwork. The only thing that stopped her from ripping out her hair was the music gently playing from her little desktop radio.
"Hold your fire!"
Y/N stood, hand on her gun and peeked her head out of her office.
"Hold your fire, I got this," Jim Gordon insisted
Y/N allowed her hand to rest, watching with anticipation. Gordon was new to the force but she liked his moxie. Y/N had been Bullocks partner before Jim, and it made her laugh how alike they were. Bullock must hate it.
Gordon approached the suspect who had an officer at gunpoint.
"Sir? Look at me. Not at them, look at me," He insisted
Y/N crossed her arms as she watched him talk the man down.
"My name is Jim, Jim Gordon. What's yours?" Jim's voice was soft and steady
The suspect grunted before replying, " I need my pills."
Jim nodded, " Okay, well, everything's gonna be alright. Look at me, huh?"
Y/N held back a proud smile as she watched Jim pick up the bottle of Aspirin off of Officer Park's desk. Offering a few to the suspect.
"Got you pills right here," Jim lied, "You want some pills? Here you go, here you go, here's some pills for you alright?"
The suspect took them, he paused for a moment before furrowing his brow.
"These aren't my pills," He said
Before he could fully process the implications of that, Jim lunged forward and wrestled the gun from him. Twisting the suspects arm before knocking him out.
Y/N looked over at Harvey, who looked absolutely livid. Y/N sauntered over to him.
"What's the matter, Harv? Goody Two-Shoes Gordon getting on your nerves?" She teased
Harvey grunted, "It's like you multiplied."
He stormed down to Gordon, obviously getting on the guy's ass about not letting the officers shoot the guy. Y/N rolled her eyes and returned to her office. Vaguely hearing Harvey and Jim get called off to a homicide in the Theater District.
Y/N sat at her desk, moving around piles of paperwork. Stacking them in order of what needed to be done first thing tomorrow and what could wait if she got called into the field.
"What can you give without ever losing?" A voice rang out
Y/N smiled, "Friendship, Ed."
Y/N looked up and took in the appearance of one of her favorite people at the precinct. Edward Nygma, the incredibly smart, albeit a bit odd, forensic scientist of the department. Today he was wearing a green plaid dress shirt with a smart brown sweater atop it.
"Correct!" He affirmed
"That's a nice sweater, Ed." Y/N complimented, "It brings out your eyes."
Ed smiled, "Thank you!"
As Ed was about to say something else, Y/N's phone rang. She fished it out from under the couple remaining loose papers on her desk.
[ Alfred Pennyworth is calling]
Y/N smiled lightly as she answered. Holding a finger up to Ed to say 'just a moment'.
"Alfred, to what do I owe the pleasure?"
"Miss Y/N are you still in the city?" Alfred asked
Y/N paused, "Yes, why?"
"I've just received a call from Detective Bullock, something has happened to Master Thomas and Lady Martha." Alfred explained, "I am on my way to get young Master Bruce."
"I'll get there and keep him company." Y/N replied instantly, standing quickly to gather her things
Alfred sighed in what seemed like relief, "Thank you, Miss Y/N."
Ed quirked an eyebrow, " Is everything okay?"
Y/N shook her head, "No, I have to go."
She grabbed her bag off the back of her chair, giving a little wave to Ed as she rushed out the door.
Y/N stopped by the front desk on her way out.
"Hi, Sheldon," She greeted, "where was that homicide in the Theater District?"
"Hey, Y/N," He replied, "Park Row."
Y/N nodded, and said a quick goodbye to him as she left. She took off at a brisk walk. When she got there, Thomas and Martha were already covered with cloth.
On a fire escape Jim sat with Bruce. Speaking to him gently. Y/N sighed in relief that Bruce wasn't alone.
"Bruce!" Y/N called out
Bruce's eyes snapped up and he shrugged off the blanket he had on and ran to her. Allowing her to engulf him in a hug for a few moments, before she knelt down and gave him a once over.
"You're okay? You're not hurt, are you?" Y/N asked
Bruce sniffled, "No, I'm not hurt."
Y/N pulled him back into their chest.
"Alfred is on his way," Y/N cooed
Bruce nodded as his tears soaked the front of her shirt. Alfred pulled up only moments later. Bruce ran to him. Alfred approached Jim and Y/N with a grim look on his face.
"Well, Miss Y/N will you be joining us back at the mansion?" Alfred asked
Y/N nodded, "Of course, just let me finish up here with Jim and Harvey. I'll be to the car in a moment."
Alfred nodded and gently guided Bruce away.
Jim looked at Y/N, "You knew the Waynes?"
"Thomas and Martha knew my parents, they were like my aunt and uncle growing up. " Y/N explained, glancing sadly at the bodies
Y/N glanced over her shoulder and saw Alfred and Bruce waiting. She turned back to Jim.
Y/N took a deep breath, "I have to go. Call me with any updates, please."
Y/N turned and walked to the car. Alfred opened the door for her. Y/N helped Bruce in before clambering in herself.Once Alfred had closed the door behind them, Bruce slumped into Y/N's side.
Y/N reached over and buckled him into the seat before wrapping an arm around him and holding him tightly. He cried into her shoulder as they drove back to the manor.
Once they arrived, Y/N walked Bruce in and to his room. He went in to change into pajamas. Alfred approached tentatively.
"Thank you for being there, Ms. L/N," Alfred said, " Bruce is lucky to have someone as selfless as you to look after him."
Y/N turned to the butler, a sad smile on her face.
"He's lucky to have you too, Alfred." Y/N replied
Alfred patted her shoulder, "Being his godmother, you are his legal guardian now."
Y/N nodded and thought about how to go about this. Of course Bruce would stay in the Manor. But, the rest of it, his schooling and his events.
"I'll ask him what he wants to do." Y/N resolved, "If he wants me around, I think it would be best for me to join you here in the Manor. If he would rather me take a more hands-off approach then I will stay in the city."
"I think it would be best for you to stay the night, Miss Y/N." Alfred replied, "And, if I may, I think it would be best for you to join us here in the Manor. For Bruce's sake, and yours."
Y/N quirked a brow, "My sake?"
"You will worry yourself silly over Bruce. You know it and I know it. I think it would be best if you joined us here to ease your worries at least a bit."
Y/N thought about that for a moment, but before she could answer, the door to Bruce's room reopened.
"I think you should join us in the Manor," Bruce's small voice came
Y/N turned to him, "Is that what you want?"
Bruce nodded, his eyes still red and his cheeks puffy. Y/N couldn't tell him no.
"Then it's settled," Y/N said wrapping an arm around Bruce, "I'll start bringing my things over next weekend."
Bruce leaned his head on her ribs, "Will you sit with me until I fall asleep?"
"Of course," Y/N agreed immediately
The two retreated into his room. He tentatively crawled underneath the duvet. Y/N came over and tucked it over his shoulders, making sure he was comfortable. She sat next to him on the edge of the bed.
The silence that encapsulated them was not comfortable. It was melancholy. Y/N rubbed her thumb over Bruce's shoulder as she got lost in thought. Bruce's voice broke her out of it.
"Why do bad things happen to good people?"
Y/N looked down at the boy, "I don't know, Bruce."
His voice was full of emotion, " I should have done something, but I just stood there-"
"Bruce, stop that," Y/N cut him off sternly, " There was nothing you could do. And it won't help if you drive yourself crazy asking 'what if'. We have to count what blessings we have, you are alive and safe."
"What if Detective Gordon doesn't find who did this?" Bruce asked
Y/N placed a gentle hand on the side of his face, " Then I will."
Bruce nodded and curled up, placing his head in Y/N's lap. Her hand instinctively went to run through his hair. In moments he was asleep, and Y/N's heart broke for him.
At some point during the night, Y/N fell asleep next to the boy. Alfred woke them up promptly at 6AM. Y/N stretched and groaned as she stood from the bed. She waddled sleepily into the dining room, offering Alfred as grateful hum as he handed her coffee.
"Sleep well?" Alfred asked
Y/N turned her head as her neck popped, "Well enough."
The two adults sat in silence as Y/N nursed the cup of coffee. Reveling in the warmth it spread to her hands and the jolt of energy it provided.
After about 10 minutes, Bruce came in already dressed in a smart sweater and khakis. He sat next to Y/N, drinking the glass of water that was sat waiting for him.
"Do you have clothes for work today?" Bruce asked
Y/N chuckled, "I'll just wear this again. If anyone at the precinct is that observant I would be surprised."
Alfred gave an amused smile, "Right lot of meatheads you work with, Miss Y/N."
"Oh you have no idea ! You two would absolutely hate Officer Dougherty, " Y/N joked
Bruce laughed, "I'm sure."
Alfred set their breakfasts in front of them and silence overtook the room as Y/N and Bruce ate. Once they were done, Alfred set a travel mug of coffee in front of Y/N.
"This is why you're my favorite British butler." Y/N smiled
Alfred smirked, " I'm the only British butler you know."
Y/N shrugged, "Meh, logistics."
She stood, grabbing the coffee and giving Alfred a light kiss on the cheek. Y/N ruffled Bruce's hair as she left.
"I'll see you after work!" She called out before she shut the door
As she entered the precinct Y/N straightened her shirt.
"Morning, L/N," Alvarez greeted
Y/N smiled, "Morning, Alvarez!"
He walked beside her for a moment.
"Essen wants to see you in her office, it's about the Wayne case." He informed
Y/N nodded, "Got it, thanks brother."
Alvarez nodded and peeled off back to his desk. Y/N continued to their office, putting down her bag on the back of the chair.
Y/N sipped the coffee Alfred made for her as she walked to Essen's office. She knocked and waited until Essen called to let her in. Inside, Captain was already talking to Jim and Harvey, the TV showed the press conference that Mayor James was doing regarding the Wayne murder.
"You wanted to see me Captain?" Y/N asked
Essen nodded, "We need all hands on deck for this case, so you'll be riding with Harvey and Jim until we close it."
Harvey grunted, "Jim, Y/N, will you give us a minute?"
Y/N rolled her eyes before leaving, gesturing for Jim to follow her. He agreed reluctantly.
As soon as the door was shut behind them Essen and Harvey started arguing. Y/N chuckled as she sat on the edge of Harvey's desk. Jim looked at her.
"Trying to talk his way out of working with us?" Jim asked
Y/N nodded, "Oh yeah. I think this is his third time trying to get out of working with me."
Jim nodded. There was a moment of silence that passed between the two.
"Are those the same clothes you wore yesterday?" He asked suddenly
"Hm? Oh, yeah," Y/N answered, "Bruce asked me to stay with him last night."
"Ah," Jim acknowledged, "You and Bruce are close?"
Y/N nodded, "He's like my little brother."
Jim nodded again, "How did you know something had happened?"
"Alfred called me." Y/N explained, "After my parents passed, Thomas and Martha asked me to be Bruce's godmother. Alfred knew I was at work, so he knew I would get there quicker than him."
Before they could finish their conversation, Harvey came out of Essen's office. He practically had smoke blowing out of his ears with the anger that was radiating off of him.
Y/N and Jim straightened up as Harvey approached.
"She said you have to keep us, huh?" Jim said, a virtually undetectable air of sarcasm in his voice
Harvey glowered as he put on his jacket, "Yeah, she did, she said you were a war hero and your daddy was a big shot D.A. back in the olden days."
He rounded on Y/N, "And that you keep me in check somehow. So I have to keep my trap shut and do as I'm told."
"Ouch," Was Jim's only response
Y/N smirked, "I'm hurt, Harv."
"Listen, kids, you got juice; do me a favor. Ask for a transfer." '
"Sorry, this is where the action is." Jim denied, "You'll get used to me."
"I'm not switching my career for a man who 'doesn't wike me'"Y/N snarked
Harvey clenched his jaw, "Jim, you seem like a nice guy, but this is not a city or a job for nice guys. You understand?"
Y/N watched as the two stood toe to toe. Jim's eyes hardening at the logic Harvey was trying to use on him.
"No."
"And that's your problem," Harvey all but growled
Jim frowned, "You're a cynic. A slovenly, lackadaisical cynic."
Harvey chuckled dryly at JIm. Y/N sucked in an anticipatory breath as she waited for Harvey's comeback. Working with these two might be a bit more difficult than she thought.
"You're probably right. Okay, soldier boy, let's go roust some muggers." Harvey agreed, "L/N, let's go!"
Y/N rolled her eyes as she followed Harvey. He paused briefly to look back at Jim.
"Lackadaisical? Hm."
Once they left the precinct, Y/N was stuck in the backseat of Harvey's car. They went downtown, near the Narrows but not quite in them. Harvey held a hand out and told Jim and Y/N to wait. He got out of the car and left the two to their own devices for a minute.
"So, Jim," Y/N broke the silence between them, " Tell me about yourself."
Jim chuckled, "What do you want to know?"
"I don't know, whatever you want to tell me."
"Well, I have a beautiful fiancé. Her name is Barbara," Jim started
"Oh, that's amazing, Jim! I would love to meet her someday!"
He smiled, "I'm sure she would love that."
The conversation lulled for a moment.
"What about you, Y/N? Why don't you tell me about yourself?"
Y/N smiled, "I was born and raised in Gotham. I graduated high school three years ago, went to the police academy, and worked my ass off to be a Detective."
"Any family?" Jim asked
"Nope. I'm an only child." Y/N answered, "Unless you count Bruce."
Harvey opened the door and beckoned them out, effectively cutting their conversation short again. On the street they questioned petty criminal after petty criminal. Grasping for any lead they could get. Harvey herded the two back to the car and took them back to the precinct. Deciding the would do some more questioning there.
Y/N went back to their office when they got back as Jim and Harvey headed for interrogation. Waiting inside was Ed.
"Hi, Ed."
"You're wearing the same clothes as yesterday."
Y/N nodded, "Indeed, I am."
Ed frowned, "Are you okay, you left in a rush yesterday?"
"Bruce Wayne is my godson," Y/N explained, "I had to go get him and take care of him last night."
"Oh, poor boy, horrible thing to happen." Ed replied
Y/N nodded, "Did you need something, Ed? Or were you just checking on me?"
"Just checking on you."
She blushed a bit at his answer.
Y/N smiled, "Well, thank you, that's very sweet of you. I've got to grab these papers and take them to Harvey, but I'll see you later."
Y/N grabbed the stack of profiles she had on her desk and headed back to Harvey and Jim. The three stood for half an hour going through the profiles trying to match it to what they knew.
Then Ed approached the group. Holding a little bag in front of Harvey.
"Guess what this is," He said excitedly
"Just tell me, Ed," Harvey grumbled, "I want riddles, I'll read the funny pages."
Ed's smile fell.
Y/N smacked Harvey's arm and hissed, "Be nice."
His eyes lit up, "It's a .45 caliber, 300- grain cupronickel wadcutter. Came out of Thomas Waynes chest."
Jim furrowed his brows, "That's a six-dollar bullet."
Ed hummed in agreement, " What kind of gun-"
"Nuh-uh-uh!" Harvey cut off, "Don't ask, just tell!"
"It's from a pistol not known by our database. And no prints, either."
"What else you got?" Harvey asked
"What's nowhere but everywhere, except where something is?" Ed asked
Y/N thought for a second, "Nothing."
Ed smiled at her.
"You need professional help, Nygma." Harvey said, "Seriously. Let's go."
Harvey gestured for Jim and Y/N to follow him. She frowned and paused beside Ed for a moment.
"Thank you, Ed. The bullet is more than nothing," Y/N praised, "Keep up the good work."
Ed grinned, "Thank you, Detective L/N."
She jogged after Jim and Harvey to catch up. Y/N caught the tail-end of what Jim was saying.
"Maybe he's not from the streets?" Jim suggested
Harvey scoffed, "Like a debonair playboy robber, does it for kicks?"
"Who would pretend to be a street robber, huh?" Jim posed
Y/N caught on, "A contract killer."
"Or somebody with a personal grudge against the Waynes." Jim agreed
"How did this professional know the Waynes would be coming down that alley?" Harvey asked, picking up his jacket
"That's a good question," Gordon conceded
The three headed for the front door as Harvey continued to bitch at Y/N and Jim.
"Essen said we don't catch a break in the first 48, it's time to go see Fish Mooney," Harvey grumbled
"Fish Mooney? That works for Carmine Falcone?" Jim asked
"Her." Harvey affirmed, "Theater District's her turf. Anything happens down there, she hears about it."
Y/N paused, "Harv, you know she hates me."
"Well, that makes two of us." He snarked
As they pulled up in front of Fish's place, Y/N nervously pulled at her nails. Jim glanced back in concern.
"C'mon she just hates you're a cop." Harvey groaned
"Harvey, you know just as well as I do that it's more than that. If Carmine didn't have a soft spot for me, she would kill me." Y/N snapped
Jim glanced between the two before getting out of the car. Prompting them to follow.
Harvey was quick on his feet, briskly walking in and to the bar. With Jim and Y/N trailing a little bit behind.
"Tell Fish I'm here," Harvey told the bartender
They heard a muffled yell from the alleyway. Jim glanced at it, then back to Harvey who shrugged. So, Jim turned his gaze to Y/N who shook her head to discourage him. She leaned into his ear.
"It's better to pretend you didn't hear anything," Y/N explained, "Don't involve yourself in Fish's business unless you have to."
Y/N heard the click of Fish's heels and went still for a moment. Jim and her looked as Fish approached. Her face holding a serious disdain toward Y/N.
"Harvey," Fish greeted
Harvey smiled, "Fish."
"Where have you been?" She asked
"Where haven't I been?" Harvey replied
Fish chuckled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Before turning to Jim and Y/N.
"Who's the friend?" Fish asked
"Detective James Gordon, ma'am." He introduced
Fish's eyes narrowed, "Hm, well aren't you a cool glass of milk?"
Jim turned toward the alley, " Ma'am was that screaming we heard back there?"
Y/N felt her shoulders sag as Jim did exactly what she said not to.
"Yes," Fish answered, "My boys are watching a scary movie."
"Really?"
"No." Fish snipped, "Actually, one of my staff has been stealing money from me, so we're beating his punk ass."
Harvey huffed, "Relax, junior, Fish gets some leeway. Her staff are rough characters, need firm handling." Fish chuckled, "So, this isn't a social visit then? Don't assume you'd bring her if it was."
Y/N shrunk in on herself as Fish sent a glare her way.
"Unfortunately not," Harvey answered, "Brass sent me by to talk to you about the Wayne murders."
"Terrible thing," Fish said
There was another scream and Jim glanced to the door again. Y/N could tell Harvey was getting frustrated.
"Listen, junior, if you're worried, why don't you go back there and see if anyone wants to press charges?" Harvey said, "If that's okay with you, Fish."
Fish smirked, "Me casa es su casa. And take her with you."
Jim glowered as he gently grabbed Y/N by the bicep and took her out to the alley. As the went down the stairs, Y/N heard the familiar voices of Oswald and Butch.
"How's everybody doing?" Jim greeted as he stepped out
Y/N stepped out just behind him. Butch glared.
"Who are you?" He demanded
"James Gordon, GCPD."
Y/N stepped out from behind Jim, "Butch, chill, he's with me."
Butch smiled, "Oh, you came with Harvey, huh? Glad to know you, James. I'm Butch Gilzean."
Jim looked at Oswald, "Drop the bat."
"Ah, come on now," Butch lightly protested," Oswald and Raoul were just having a little fun, weren't you, boys?"
Oswald looked between Butch and Jim.
"All in fun," He said a little hesitantly
"Hello, Oswald," Y/N greeted with a little wave
He waved back.
"No problem," Raoul stuttered, "Fun."
Butch chuckled, "You a new guy, huh? How do you like Gotham so far?"
Jim deadpanned, "Well enough. See you around."
He turned to leave, expecting Y/N to follow. Y/N rolled her eyes and approached Butch. He smiled and gave her a huge hug.
"How are you, kiddo?" Butch asked
Y/N shrugged, "I've had worse days. How much this dirtbag steal?"
"A couple thousand," Butch answered
Y/N whistled, "Yikes, see you in hell Raoul."
Butch barked out a laugh. Y/N smiled at him.
"I better go before Harvey leaves my ass here," Y/N joked, "Call me, let's get lunch."
"Will do, kid!"
Y/N hurried up the stairs, finish Jim waiting for her at the top. A sour look on his face.
"'Let's get lunch?'" Jim accused
"Butch is my friend, Jim." Y/N defended, "I stay out of his way and he stays out of mine. Outside of work we actually have a lot in common."
Jim scoffed, and continued inside. Y/N hurried after him. Fish and Harvey were laughing when they came back in, which gave Y/N hope that Fish had given them good information.
Harvey stood when he saw the two, "Oh, hey, everything alright back there?"
Jim gave a tight lipped smile that showed he wasn't happy about what Harvey had forced him to do.
"It's always good to see you, Harvey," Fish cooed as she stood
The two gave a quick kiss and Harvey headed out to the car. Fish fixed a glare onto Jim as he turned to leave.
"Ah, Detective L/N, I need a word with you." Fish stopped Y/N
Jim stopped to stay with Y/N, but Fish shooed him off. Then snapped her fingers and gestured for Y/N to sit.
"I'll cut right to it, Detective." Fish began, "I don't like you. You know it, and it seems your buddy James there knows it. So, here's what is going to happen, you keep being a goody two-shoes. Keep kissing Falcone's ring. But the second you get in my way, you are dead. You hear me? And I won't have to get approval."
Y/N steadied her breath and nodded at Fish.
"Yes, ma'am." Y/N acknowledged
"And your buddies don't need to know about our little arrangement, okay?" Fish continued, "Now get the hell out of my club."
Y/N hurried to stand and leave. Briskly walking to the car trying not to sell too much panic to Fish or her partners.
She got in the car, still trying to steady her breath. Jim turned in his seat to look at her, and Harvey actually looked a bit concerned.
"You good, kid?" Harvey asked
Jim quirked an eyebrow, "What did she want from you?"
"Nothing, just girl talk. Lady business." Y/N lied, "Can you drop me off at Wayne Manor, Harv?"
The two men looked at each other, their eyes full of suspicion but refused to press any further. Harvey resettled in his seat to drive.
"Yeah, kid, whatever. Probably ought to take off for the night and come back strong tomorrow anyway." Harvey agreed
The drive to the manor felt like forever because of the silence that shrouded them. When they got to the manor, Y/N immediately got out of the car. Barely bothering to say goodbye. Only muttering a small 'see you tomorrow'.
She entered the manor, and immediately went to the kitchen. Alfred was in there, cooking. He smiled when he saw Y/N. She sat at the kitchen island, setting her bag beside her.
"Miss Y/N, I didn't realize you would be home so early, I would have started dinner earlier," Alfred said
"Don't worry about it, Alfred, I should have called." Y/N apologized, "What are we having tonight?"
Alfred smiled, "Bacon wrapped, Pesto Pork Tenderloin. Used to be yours and Master Bruce's favorite."
Y/N thought back to when Alfred was talking about. When she was 16 and Bruce was 6. Thomas and Martha would invite the L/N's over for dinner every Sunday. Y/N always thought Alfred was the best cook, and he was right the Pesto Pork Tenderloin was always her favorite. But, she knew something Alfred didn't, Bruce originally didn't like it. Of course he didn't, he was a child. But, when Bruce found out it was Y/N's favorite it became his favorite too because he wanted to be just like her.
"That's right, can't wait." Y/N replied, smiling gently at the memory
Alfred set a cup of tea in front of her, and the two sat in silence while he finished cooking. Once dinner was finished, nearly an hour and a half later, Alfred called Bruce in.
The three sat together, enjoying their meal.
"Did you find anything today?" Bruce asked
"We went and spoke to Fish Mooney today. We have a theory it may have been a contract killing and not a random mugging." Y/N answered taking another bite
Almost as if she had manifested it, her phone rang from her bag on the island. Y/N politely excused herself to take it.
[Harvey Bullock is calling]
Y/N grumbled, "What?"
"Don't get huffy with me, I've got a lead." Harvey slurred slightly, "Meet me at Fourth and Grundy in an hour."
Then he hung up. Y/N shrugged and grabbed her bag.
"Harvey says there might be a lead, can I take the Mercedes?" Y/N asked
Bruce nodded quickly.
"I'll put your dinner in the microwave for when you get back," Alfred offered
Y/N walked over and kissed his cheek, "Thank you so much. Don't wait up for me, okay? I'll catch you up in the morning." She went over and ruffled Bruce's hair and gave him a quick hug.
Y/N drove like there were no traffic laws, and whipped into a parking spot along the street. She sat and waited for Gordon and Harvey.
After about 10 minutes of waiting, she saw Gordon walking down the sidewalk. So she got out of the car and locked it before joining him. He glanced at the car she was driving a gave a low whistle.
"Damn, how much do you get paid?" Jim teased
Y/N smacked his shoulder, "You know good and well that that's a Wayne car."
Jim raised his hands in mock surrender. The two quickly approached Harvey who was draining what was left of his flask.
"Hey," Harvey greeted
He wobbled slightly when he stood up.
"You alright?" Jim asked
"Couple drinks, I'll be fine."
"Bullock." Jim said sternly
Harvey waved him off, "Fish Mooney heard from one of her fences, guy tried to sell him an antique four-strand pearl necklace with gold settings. One strand broken."
"The one Martha was wearing?" Y/N asked
Harvey snapped, "Bingo! Guy's name was Mario Pepper."
Harvey pushed past Jim and led the two to the building next door and started up the stairs. Explaining more about Mario as they climbed.
"Career street thug. Long sheet: robbery, assault, rape, extortion, drug dealing."
Y/N shivered at all of the things Mario had done. Jim straightened his shoulders.
"Nice guy," He said sarcastically
Jim knocked on the door, purposely keeping his shoulder in front of Y/N so if Mario tried something he'd have to go through Jim first.
After a moment, as Jim moved to knock again, a little girl opened the door. Jim bent down a little to be on the same level as her. But her eyes were glued to Y/N.
"Hi," Jim greeted, " What's your name?"
"Ivy." She answered
"Ivy," Jim repeated, "Is daddy home?"
Ivy shrunk in on herself, "You don't want to talk to daddy."
Y/N gently moved Jim out of her way and knelt in front of Ivy herself.
"Why Ivy?" Y/N asked softly
"He's mean," Ivy whispered
Y/N shook her head, "Well he can't be mean if we're here, we'll keep you safe. Because that's our job."
"Hey, who is it?" A gruff male voice shouted
Ivy was quick to run inside. And the door fully opened, revealing Mario Pepper. And Y/N was the closest of the three to him. Jim straightened up.
"Mario Pepper. We need to talk." Jim said
Mario looked Y/N up and down, "I've done nothing."
Y/N fought the urge to beat the shit out of him right then and there.
"So it'll be a pleasant talk." Jim insisted
Mario let them in, Jim and Harvey headed up the conversation while Y/N sat back with Ivy.
"Where were you last Saturday night, around 9:30?" Jim asked
Ivy showed Y/N one of her plants, letting her gently touch the leaves.
"I was here, at home, with my family." Mario answered
His wife nodded, "That's right. He was here."
Y/N looked at her, she seemed so scared. And Y/N thought back to Ivy saying Mario was mean, once again she had to fight the urge to beat him right there in front of God and everybody.
"Pearl necklace sound familiar?" Harvey asked
Mario paused, "No."
"Then I guess you don't mind we, uh, take a look around the place."
Harvey gestured and Y/N stood from where she was sitting with Ivy. Ready to get the search over with and get out of there.
"You need a warrant." Mario protested
Jim shook his head, "You're a felon on parole."
"All we need is reasonable cause." Y/N finally spoked up
Mario's eyes shot to her. He nodded for a moment before shoving the table into Gordon and Harvey. He grabbed Y/N by the hair and dragged her behind him, effectively using her as a human shield as he made his escape.
He dragged her out the window and onto the roof. Holding her hair in one hand and a pistol in the other. Once they were on the roof he started shooting at Gordon, who couldn't shoot back without the risk of shooting Y/N.
Mario kept a tight grip on Y/N's hair, dragging her behind him down the stairs and into the alley. Then through the warehouse, and into the kitchen, then finally into the other alleyway.
He held a hand over her mouth and then threw her at Gordon when he got too close before attacking with the knife he grabbed as he ran. Y/N was disoriented from her impromptu kidnapping, and hardly knew which way was up.
The two fought and Mario threw Gordon on the ground, he went in to stab Jim. Until Harvey shot him dead in the alleyway. Jim looked at Harvey, still panting heavily.
"Thanks," He wheezed
Harvey gave a nod and then rushed to Y/N.
"L/N, kid? You good?" Harvey asked, lightly slapping her face
She sputtered for a minute as she gained her bearings and smacked Harvey's hand away.
"I'm fine, I'm good." Y/N insisted
Once they all got back to the Pepper residence, Jim got his hand wrapped,Y/N got checked for tears on her scalp and concussion, and Harvey argued about shooting Pepper. As they sat, other officers searched the house. Until finally:
"We got him!"
Y/N turned and stood, looking at the necklace they had found. She grabbed Jim's bicep and smiled at him.
"You made good on your promise." Y/N praised him
Harvey gave her a hug, with the brightest smile she had ever seen on his face.
When the three arrived at the precinct, they were greeted warmly. Applause and pats on the back from everyone. Y/N took it in for a few moments before she left to breathe in her office.
She sat calmly, eyes closed in her chair.
"What word in the English language does the following: The first two letters signify a male, the first three letters signify a woman, the first four letters signify a great man, but the whole word signifies a great woman. What word is it?"
Y/N smiled at Ed's voice.
"I don't know, Ed." Y/N replied gently
"Heroine." He answered, "Which is what you seem to be, Detective L/N."
Y/N opened her eyes and saw him sat across from her.
"I wouldn't call myself that, all I did was get dragged by my hair for two blocks." Y/N joked
Ed shook his head, "You helped take down the man who killed Thomas and Martha Wayne. That's pretty heroic to me. And to the city, it seems. Mayor James wants a picture of you, Detective Gordon, and Detective Bullock for the front page."
Y/N looked at Ed, who was already gazing at her very intensely. She looked away, trying not to blush like a teenager.
"I'm not exactly camera ready, Ed."
Ed shook his head, "You look fine, come on."
He stepped forward and offered Y/N his hand. She took it hesitantly and allowed him to pull her to her feet. Ed led her to the bullpen and pushed her to stand with Jim and Harvey.
"I look like shit." Y/N grumbled as the photographer positioned her between the two
"No worse than usual," Harvey teased
"Hardy-har-har."
Jim smacked their shoulders.
"Just smile, it'll be over in less than a second." He hissed through his teeth
They all gave the best smiles they could. Harvey's was the only one that looked genuine. Jim looked pained, and Y/N looked utterly disinterested. But the photographer deemed it acceptable and left the three alone.
Essen approached the three, "You guys take off, okay? You deserve it. Get some rest and we'll see you tomorrow."
"Thanks, Cap'n." Harvey said, beelining for his desk
Jim gave a nod.
"Thanks, Cap." Y/N gave a small wave as she went back to her office
Y/N grabbed her things and left. She almost fell asleep on her drive back to the manor.
When she got inside, she tried to be quiet. Setting her things where they went, and then going to the sitting room. There wasn't enough time before Thomas and Martha's funeral for her to even try to sleep.
She only sat for about half an hour before Alfred came in. Coffee in hand as if he already knew she was there and hadn't slept.
"Morning, Miss Y/N." Alfred greeted, placing the coffee in front of her
"Morning, Alfred."
"Long night?"
"Yes. But, we got him." Alfred paused.
"What?"
Y/N smiled doggedly, "We got him. His name was Mario Pepper."
"Was?" Alfred persisted
"He tried to kill Gordon, so Bullock had to shoot him." Y/N replied, "He's dead."
"The man who killed my parents?"
Y/N turned on the couch to look at Bruce, who was all dressed in his little suit for the funeral. His tie still undone, waiting for someone to help.
Y/N stood and went to him, carefully tying a Windsor knot for him. A gentle smile on her face.
"Yes, Bruce," Y/N confirmed, "The man who killed your parents. He's gone. He can't hurt you or anyone else ever again."
Bruce flung himself into her arms, in the biggest hug he could muster. She held him tightly as he cried. Y/N set him on the couch and went to get ready herself.
Once she'd changed and done her hair, she rejoined Alfred and Bruce in the garage. Y/N helped Bruce into the car, just as she had the night in the alley, before getting in herself.
At the funeral, Bruce, Alfred, and Y/N stood closely together as they watched Thomas and Martha get lowered into the ground. Mayor James stood nearby, a similar look of heartbreak on his face.
As the guests began to leave, Bruce just stood and stared. Alfred placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. Signaling to Bruce it was time to go. Y/N hung back for a moment, kneeling down before the graves.
"I'll protect him, I promise." Y/N whispered, laying a single Gardenia in the plot
She stood, wiped off her knees and followed the rest of the guests. Once she had rejoined Bruce and Alfred they were met by Gordon and Bullock.
Bruce approached them, "You kept your promise. Thank you."
"I'm sorry you didn't see a trial." Gordon replied
"That's okay," Bruce assured, offering Jim a handshake
Jim accepted. Then Bruce pushed on, back to the car with Alfred in tow. Y/N stopped in front of Jim and Harvey, wiping her face.
"I'll see you guys at work," Y/N offered
"Are you okay kid?"
"Not the first set of parents I've lost. I'll be fine."
Y/N didn't stick around for Jim and Harvey to ask questions. She hurried off to rejoin Alfred and Bruce.
The rest of the day Bruce spent curled into her side as she read to him until they both fell asleep.
Alfred woke them up early the next morning," Miss Y/N, Detective Gordon is here to see you."
Y/N scrambled out of bed and put on a robe over her pajamas that Alfred offered her. She greeted Jim at the door.
"Jim, it's so early? What are you doing here?"
"I think Mario Pepper was framed, and I need your help." Jim whispered
Y/N's eyes widened, "Holy shit, let me change clothes."
Y/N ran upstairs and chased quickly into work acceptable clothes. She gave Alfred a quick kiss to the cheek, and Bruce a quick hair ruffle before she was rushing out the door with Gordon.
In the car on the way to the Pepper residence, Y/N finally calmed enough to ask some questions.
"Who told you he was framed?" Y/N asked
Jim sighed, "Montoya went to Barbara, Barbara told me."
"Shit. So Major Crimes is trying to get you for it?"
"All of us. You. Me. Harvey. Essen."
They arrived at the apartment and Jim practically sprinted up the stairs with Y/N close behind. He knocked on the door. When Mrs.Pepper answered it, she tried to shut it immediately.
"Go away." She demanded
"Ma'am, if your husband was innocent, you need to talk to us."
She let them in, albeit angrily. Jim and Y/N came in tentatively, Y/N shut the door behind her.
Ivy was misting her plants, Y/N gave her a little wave. Which Ivy returned, though a bit hesitant.
"If your husband didn't kill the Waynes, how did he come to have Martha Wayne's necklace?" Jim asked
Mrs.Pepper spat, "You bastards planted it on him."
"Bastards." Ivy hissed
"Alice, how would the police have the necklace?" Y/N asked
"We didn't kill the Wayne's." Jim insisted
"So you say," Alice accused, "God knows my husband had his demons, but he never killed nobody."
Jim went silent for a moment.
"Can I see his shoes?" He asked suddenly
"Shoes?" Mrs.Pepper asked
She took them to their closet and showed them the shoes. Y/N bent down beside Jim.
"What are we looking for?" She asked
"Bruce said the man who killed his parents was wearing shiny shoes.." Jim mumbled, he turned to Mrs.Pepper, "This is all of them?"
She nodded.
"Damn." Jim sighed
Y/N looked, not a single pair of shiny shoes in the closet.
"Shit." Y/N hissed
Jim stood and made to leave, Y/N turned to Mrs.Pepper.
"Thank you for your time, Mrs.Pepper." Y/N said, she handed her a business card, "If things get rough for you and Ivy, feel free to reach out. I'm sorry for all the pain we've caused."
Once they were back in the car Y/N hit the dashboard hard.
"Damn it!" She shouted
"Calm down. We'll figure it out."
"You don't get it. I told Bruce he was gone. I told Bruce whoever killed his parents couldn't hurt him again." Y/N snapped
"L/N, we will get the guy who actually did this. But, you have to calm down." Jim insisted
Y/N put their face in their hands, and allowed Jim to silently drive them to the precinct. As soon as they were there, Jim took her to have a sit-down with Harvey. He scoffed at their story.
"Framed? How d'you figure?" Harvey asked, "You were there. We framed him?"
"Somebody could've planted the necklace on Pepper for us to find,"Jim reasoned, "Fish Mooney could've set the whole thing up."
"Why?" Harvey asked
"To cover up for the real killer." Y/N offered
"Mooney works for Falcone," Jim added, "Maybe Falcone wanted the Waynes killed."
"Woah, woah, woah, wait-wait!" Harvey protested, " Why would such nutty idea even enter your heads?"
Jim gave Y/N a look. She nodded for him to tell Harvey.
"Montoya from MCU."
"That pill head loony bird?" Harvey demanded, "What's her proof?"
"Wouldn't tell me. Didn't trust me."
Harvey huffed, "She doesn't have any. If they did, they would've used it."
Jim sighed, "Pepper didn't wear shiny shoes."
"He didn't own any shiny shoes, Harv." Y/N maintained
"Shiny shoes! Mother of God!"
Y/N slumped a little bit at Harvey's willful ignorance. Jim patted her knee.
"Shiny shoes!" Harvey continued, "Just suppose for a moment, just suppose, Pepper was innocent. I killed him."
"We killed him," Jim corrected
"He attacked Jim, Harvey. Innocent or not, you didn't have a choice there." Y/N reassured
"We killed him, we'd lose our jobs at the very least. The case is closed. Forget about it." Harvey commanded
Jim glanced at Y/N, who had a contemplative look on her face. He leaned toward Harvey.
"Even if the real killers are still out there?"
Harvey hissed, "Yes. This is very perilous stuff you two are messing with. Listen to me for once, Jim. Forget about it."
Harvey put his glasses on and returned to his paperwork. Thinking the conversation was over with. Jim looked back at Y/N, whose face had hardened into a glare.
Y/N was thinking about Bruce. She'd made him a promise that if Jim and Harvey didn't find who killed his parents that she would. And Y/N intended to do just that, with or without Jim and Harvey.
She stood and marched to her office. Jim was quick to follow her.
"L/N." Jim chided as he followed her into her office
"I'm finding who did this, Jim. With or without you and Harvey." She snapped, "I made a promise."
"Woah, who said I was giving up?"
Y/N looked at him, he had a set-eating grin on his face. One that told her he gave as little of shit about what Harvey said as she did. Y/N gave him a smirk back.
"I think we owe Fish Mooney another visit." Y/N said
Jim nodded and led Y/N out and to his car. Harvey gave them a side eye as they brushed past him at his desk. Determination clear on their face.
The drive to Fish's was silent as their anticipation built. Jim parked right in front and the two got out. They gave each other a mutual look and headed in, slamming the door open and making their presence known.
Oswald glanced at the two from where he sat at the bar. He stood shakily.
"Detective Gordon, Detective L/N." Oswald wavered
Jim regarded him, "Tell Mooney we're here."
"May I ask why?" "No."
Jim pushed past Oswald, Y/N trailing behind.
"No. Yes." Oswald chuckled nervously
As Y/N and Jim went further into the club, they found Fish. Who looked less than pleased to see them.
"James Gordon. Y/N L/N. How nice." She snarked
Y/N crossed her arms as she stood next to Jim in front of Fish's desk.
"Day I met you, when I was out back with your boys, what did you and Harvey talk about?" Jim asked
Fish sighed, "Shouldn't you ask Harvey? He's your partner."
"Well, we're asking you." Y/N quipped
"I don't recall asking you , L/N."
"I'm afraid he might lie." Jim intervened
"Hmm, he might." Fish acknowledged, "And you think I'll tell you the truth?"
Two of her men came into the room. Y/N tensed and looked at Jim, who nodded.
"You just did." Y/N revealed
The two turned around and made to leave.
"James, wait."
Fish walked around her desk and approached the two. An unreadable expression on her face.
"You have a little danger in your eye." Fish reveled, "I wonder what you two plan to do with that."
Jim made direct eye-contact, "You'll have to wait and see."
He nodded at Y/N and the two turned to leave again.
"I hate surprises." Fish hissed
The two men who had come into the room attacked Y/N and Jim. The detectives both had the upper hand against them, until Fish clobbered them over the back of their heads. Rendering them unconscious.
Y/N came to slung over someone's shoulder, watching two men drag an unconscious Jim behind them. Her arms and legs were tied and she could barely lift her head. If she didn't have a concussion before, she certainly did now.
But, she didn't think that really mattered anymore. Since it looked like she was about to die.
"Wait! Wait!" Jim's slurred voice called out, "Wait."
"Jim!" Y/N mumbled
She felt whoever was carrying her turn and walk to Jim.
"Shut up." Butch said before kicking Jim unconscious again
"Butch?" Y/N said, a little louder than before
Butch sighed as they continued into the warehouse.
"Sorry, Y/N but business is business." He explained, "You shouldn't have gotten involved."
"Please. Bruce needs me."
"Don't plead. Don't make this harder than it already is."
They tied her upside down by her feet before stringing Jim up next to her. Butch's guys started setting it up their stuff across from Jim and Y/N.
"Hey, what're you doin?" Butch demanded of their camera guy, "Put it over here; you'll get a better angle."
"What you're a director now?" The other guy snapped
"Don't get fresh, I'm just sayin."
Y/N heard the door open and close.
"Hey, Butch!" Harvey's voice rang out
"Ah, fuck," Y/N sighed
"I second that." Jim groaned
"Harvey," Butch hummed, "Who told you we'd be here?"
"Everybody knows this is where you... take your problems. Those are my partners you got there."
Butch smirked, "Ex-partners."
"Oh," Harvey snarked, "Lemme talk to Fish."
Butch smiled and took out his phoned, dialing Fish. Y/N twisted to look at Jim whispering.
"We are so dead."
"Trust Harvey."
After a moment Butch nodded like the line had been answered.
"Yeah, Bullock showed up at the plant. He wants to talk to you."
Butch nodded again and handed Harvey the phone.
"Fish," Harvey greeted, "Don't be like that. Listen, you gotta let my kids go. How long we been friends?"
Y/N glared at Jim, "I stand by what I said."
"Look, they're not your problem here," Harvey insisted, "They were hipped to the frame by Major Crimes. They're gonna be coming after you."
There was a moment and then, "Usual way, I guess. Somebody talked... that's what everybody says."
"God, I wish I could hear what Fish is saying." Y/N hissed
"Me too, kid."
"Listen, you gotta let my kids go." Harvey reiterated, "You kill my partners, I gotta come after you. I don't wanna do it, but how am I gonna look. You kill my partner, I don't make a move?....I promise!" Harvey handed the phone back to Butch. He turned to look at Jim and Y/N giving them thumbs up. Y/N shook her head.
"He just signed our death warrants." Y/N groaned
"What?"
"Fish'll take that as a threat.Just watch."
Harvey wandered over to them, kneeling down.
"Hey, how you doin?" Jim greeted
"I'm good,"Harvey chuckled, "We're going home."
"Yeah?"
Harvey stood and turned to speak to Fish's goons. As Butch came up behind him with a pipe.
"Gentlemen, I'm just glad everything could work out..."
Butch knocked him over the head, leaving him unconscious on the ground.
"Cops." Butch hissed
"I fucking told you, Jim." Y/N gloated
Butch and his men strung Harvey up on the other side of Jim. They waited until he woke up. Which was only ten-ish minutes.
"How you guys doin?" Harvey asked
"Been better." Jim answered, "Thanks for trying to help."
"Wish I hadn't."
"You're telling me." Y/N sighed
Jim glanced at Y/N an amused smile on his face.
"Hey, Butch!" Harvey shouted
Butch rolled his eyes, "Yeah, save your breath. Look, if it was up to me, you'd get a bullet in the head and a decent funeral, but Fish has her ways."
Butch turned away, "Yo! Frankie! Showtime."
An alarm started blaring and a guy dressed like a post-apocalyptic torturer came in.
"Oh fuck me." Y/N groaned
The guy scanned his tools and picked up a meat cleaver before advancing to the three of them.
"Oh, God." Harvey grunted
Before Frankie could do anything to them a garage door opened and three men came in and opened fire. Killing Butch's accomplices and the man who was meant to torture them.
Once the shooting stopped Carmine Falcone entered.
"Carmine!" Y/N shouted
He glanced at her with a soft smile on his face. Butch looked a mix between angry and scared.
"Don Falcone." He greeted
"Forgive me, young man. I forget what your name is." Falcone replied, "Or perhaps I never knew it."
"Gilzean, sir."
"Gilzean. Tell Ms.Mooney she is too impetuous. If she wants to kill policemen she has to ask permission."
Butch nodded, "Sir."
Butch was quick to leave. Harvey groaned as he looked at Falcone.
"There are rules," Falcone informed the three, then he turned away, "Cut them down."
"That's right there are rules!" Harvey agreed
The two boys were cut down rather roughly landing on their necks and backs, but Falcone's men held Y/N up and helped turn her right side up before setting her down. They helped cut her bindings, since she was the only one tied by the hands.
Falcone offered her his arm when she joined him by the door.
"Tell me, my dear, why you were poking around when you knew you shouldn't." Falcone asked gently
Y/N looked up at him, "Bruce Wayne is my godson, Carmine. And I made him a promise that I wouldn't allow the man who killed his parents to hurt him ever again."
"A noble promise, Y/N. I assume you did not know it was Fish's dealing when you made that promise?"
"No, sir."
He nodded, then looked down at her wrists.
"You're hurt." He pointed out
"Just some rope-burn, sir. I'll be alright."
"They are bleeding."
Y/N looked down and finally noticed that the rope had torn the skin on her wrists. She was bleeding, not horribly, but still.
"I'll have someone look at them at the precinct." She assured him
The car-ride with Jim, Harvey, and Falcone was silent. As Falcone fretted over her wrists to Jim and Harvey's surprise. Once at the precinct, Falcone sent Harvey and Y/N away. The latter with a light kiss to the forehead and a promise to have dinner together.
Harvey followed Y/N to her office.
"I didn't realize you and the Don were so close." Y/N shrugged, "Neither did I, if I'm being honest. I knew he had a soft spot for me, but I didn't know he worried about me."
Ed came into the room, holding an armful of bandages and antiseptics.
"Captain Essen told me to come tend to your wrists."
Y/N smiled and sat on the edge of her desk, holding them out to him.
"Glad to have someone who knows what they're doing. I was worried Harvey was gonna have to do it." Y/N joked
Ed pulled the extra chair up in front of her, no smile present on his face. Y/N nodded her head for Harvey to leave, he held his hands up in surrender as he left.
"Ed, what's wrong?" Y/N asked
Ed glanced up at her as he tended to her wrists, not replying. She pulled her hands away.
"Hey, talk to me," Y/N insisted
"I was worried about you."Ed replied, "You're the closest thing I have to a real friend, and Captain Essen told me I almost lost you."
Ed wouldn't look her in the eye. So, Y/N grabbed him by the sides of his face, and made him look at her. His hands instinctively moved to lightly rest over her hands.
"Ed, we are friends. I'm sorry I scared you, but I made Bruce a promise. I'm still here and that's what is important."
"Promise me you'll be okay if you keep looking into this."
Y/N hesitated. She couldn't guarantee that she would be okay. But, sometimes you just have to put someone's mind at ease.
"I promise."
Y/N pulled him into a hug. They stayed like that for several minutes, until Harvey interrupted.
"L/N, we gotta go. Orders for the us and Gordon."
Y/N nodded, "On my way."
Ed glanced at Harvey, "Let me finish patching her wrists." Harvey nodded before going back to his desk. Ed worked quickly, finishing bandaging her wrists in just a minute or so. And sent her off after Harvey.
She grabbed her coat and got into the backseat of Harvey's car. Jim and Harvey already occupying both of the front seats. Harvey drove them to the docks. Much to Y/N's confusion.
"Harv, what are we doing here?"
"Lookit, Jim..."
"I'm listening."
The two seemed to know exactly hwy they were there. Which worried Y/N, what were they hiding from her?
"I wasn't being honest with you two, but you weren't ready for the truth."
"What are you guys talking about?" Y/N demanded
"You didn't tell us because you were ashamed." Jim growled
Harvey got out of the car. Jim following suit. Which forced Y/N to join them. More anxiety growing in their heart with each moment that passed.
"Why are we stopping here?" Jim asked as he followed Harvey to the trunk
Y/N followed close behind. Harvey opened the trunk to reveal Oswald inside.
"No, please! Please, I beg of you!" Oswald pleaded
"Ozzie?" Y/N gasped, "Harvey what the hell!" "Shut up!" Harvey shouted, effectively silencing both of them
Harvey turned to Jim.
"This is the fool that snitched to Montoya and Allen. Falcone wants you to walk him to the end of that pier and put a bullet in his head. Then, everybody knows you two are with the program."
Jim stepped up to Harvey, " And if I don't?"
"Then I'm supposed to take you two out, and him too." Harvey replied, "And here's the thing, Jim. I like you two, I might not have the stomach to do it, but I'll try. 'Cause if I don't, someone will get to both of you quick enough. Then they're gonna get to me, and probably Barbara and Bruce as well. Who knows what you told them."
"I told her nothing!" Jim protested
"Bruce is a child, he doesn't know anything!" Y/N cried out
"You think Falcone cares?" Harvey snapped, "Come one, you've killed people before."
"That was war!"
"This is war! We're at war with scumbags like him! Sometimes in war you've gotta do a bad thing to do good, right? So do you two do this bad thing or do you both die and maybe the ones you love die too? I might be lackadaisical, hmm? But that's not a tough call."
Y/N stood back from the two as panic took over her heart. Kill Oswald, one of her friends, or allow Falcone to send (likely) Zsasz after them.
Jim took the gun from Harvey and nodded at Y/N to grab Oswald. She did as he asked, roughly too. As much history as she and Oswald had, she wouldn't give up her life and Bruce's for his.
They walked Oswald down the pier, he was limping heavily. And Y/N knew that Fish had beat him.
"Please, Y/N, Mr.Gordon, just let me live!" Oswald begged, "I'll do whatever you say, I-I'll be your slave for life. Listen to me, there is a war coming. A-a terrible war. Falcone is losing his grip, and his rivals are hungry. There-there will be chaos. Rivers of blood in the streets. I know it! I-I can see it coming! See, I'm clever that way. And I can help you guys. I-I can be a spy."
Jim reached past where Y/N was holding him and grabbed Oswald by the tie.
"Shut up!" Jim yelled, "Turn around."
Y/N helped Jim force Oswald around. Jim placed the gun to the back of his head.
"For God's sake, have mercy." Oswald begged
Jim looked at Y/N, and she could see doubt in his mind. She shook her head at him. He nodded in response.
"Don't ever come back to Gotham," Jim demanded
He aimed just next to Oswald's head and fired, they shoved Oswald off the pier. Making it seem as though they had killed him. They turned back to Harvey who looked relieved.
Harvey drove them both to their respective homes. Y/N was dropped off at Wayne Manor. Looking worse for wear. When she came in, Bruce was quick to tackle her in a hug, looking at the blood on her head and the bandages on her wrist.
He took her to the sitting room and sat her down, Alfred brought in tea. Bruce curled up next to her and they talked until Bruce drifted to sleep.

Y/N sat between Milton and Kim at the lunch table. They were locked into a discussion with Milton about whether or not The Flash and Quicksilver would get along.
"Mil, it depends on which Quicksilver we're talking about!" Y/N insisted, "If we're talking X-Men then absolutely not! Barry would hate Peter! If we're talking Avengers then maybe!"
Jerry ran in before Milton could rebuttal.
"Guy! I got us the opportunity of a lifetime!" Jerry panted, "We're gonna be rich!"
"For the last time, your mom's car has a leak. There's no oil under your house!" Milton huffed
Y/N turned to Jerry, "Ignore him, he's all grumpy because I was winning our argument. What's that?"
Y/N pointed at the flyer in Jerry's hand.
"I signed us up for The Battle of the Dance Crews competition at the mall!" Jerry explained, "Check it!" He held up the flyer proudly. Jack, Kim, and Eddie leaned in to read it.
"Woah! First prize wins $1,000!" Kim pointed out
"It's not just about the money!" Jerry countered, "I've always loved dancing. I used to try to teach Y/N until they tripped and broke their ankle once. You know, when I was a baby my mom hung a disco ball over my crib!"
"I have pictures of that!" Y/N giggled
Jack chuckled as he stood, "Did it ever fall on your head?"
Jerry quirked an eyebrow and scanned the table, confused.
"Did what ever fall on my head?"
"Jerry, that sounds great." Eddie said, "But, we're not a dance crew."
"I have the skills, and I'll teach you the moves!" Jerry reassured,"And if we work hard we can win this together! Now what do you say?"
"Sounds like a great idea to me, Jer." Y/N agreed
"I'm in," Jack answered
The others agreed too.
"Okay, jerry, you've got yourself a crew!" Jack smiled
"Wasabi?" Jerry asked
They stood.
"Wasabi!" The group affirmed
After school, Y/N sat in a booth at Falafel Phil's with Jerry and Jack. Grabbing a bite to eat before they went to learn their dance for the competition.
"Is it just me or are these falafel balls greasier than usual?" Jack asked
He picked one up and squeezed it in his hand, wringing it out of the excess grease. Which was far too much for Y/N's comfort.
"Oh, ew, disgusting!" Y/N gagged
Jack smiled, "Oh, really?"
He reached toward Y/N with his grease covered hand. "Gross, Jack!" Y/N laughed, "Get your gross falafel hand away from me!" Jack pulled away, "Okay, okay, you win."
Jerry shrugged, "That looks about right to me."
A guy walked into the restaurant.
"Woah, check it out," Jerry informed, "That's Dan Brennan. He's the best dancer at our school. They call him Smooth."
Y/N scrunched up their nose, "That's a weird nickname." "Is it because he's got great dance moves?" Jack asked, turning to look at the guy
Jerry nodded, " And his skin's crazy soft. Yo, we're talking velvet."
Smooth approached the table. Giving a sparkly smile to Y/N, which they hesitantly returned.
"Hey, Jerry," Smooth greeted, he looked at Jack
"Jack,"He informed
"Eh," Smooth scoffed
Y/N scowled at that. Jack shook his head in an effort to talk them down from going off on Smooth for being rude.
"I heard you karate clowns signed up for the dance contest. You know my crew The Step Brotherz win every year."
"Yeah, I know. Just 'cause you win every year doesn't mean other people shouldn't try," Jerry countered
Smooth scoffed, "Yeah, it kind of does! See, I suggest you leave the dancing to sand stay in your little karate club."
Smooth turned and started to leave. Jack smirked at Y/N and turned in his seat to look at Smooth.
"You know, we're not just a karate club," Jack called out, "We also offer free counseling to people with bad nicknames. You should come by and see us, Smooth."
Y/N snorted out a laugh, trying to cover it with a cough. Smooth came back to their table.
"You guys are just gonna embarrass yourselves," He belittled, "You might have some moves. But, can you move...like Smooth?"
He hit a couple dance moves, sliding down into the splits, and then scoffed at them.
"I don't know?" Y/N chirped, "Can you not dance in the middle of a restaurant like a loser?"
Smooth scoffed and left.
Jerry huffed, "Yo, I can move like Smooth. It's just a split! I can do a split, check it."
Y/N and Jack twisted in their seats to watch him. Jerry swiped under his nose like Smooth did, then turned and dropped into the splits. A loud ripping sound happening as he did.
Y/N tried so hard not to laugh. But, Jack chuckled, which made Y/N burst into a fit of giggles at her friends predicament.
"I think your pants just ripped," Jack laughed, looking at Y/N
Jerry leaned up to make eye contact, " That wasn't my pants." Jack and Y/N stopped laughing and looked at each other. Then they moved to help Jerry up.
"Okay, let's get you to the dojo," Y/N said, struggling to hold Jerry up
Jack slid his shoulder under Jerry's other armpit, helping to carry him across the food court.
Once they got there, Y/N and Jack set Jerry down on a bench. Y/N patted his head.
"I'll go get you some Tylenol." They offered
Jerry nodded in appreciation, and Y/N left to get what he needed. Jack sat next to Jerry.
"So, how are things between you two?" Jerry asked
Jack shrugged, "Like they were before the fight about Truman."
"You haven't said anything to them?"
"I tried to, but Y/N just wants things back how they were and I don't want them to get upset with me."
Jerry nodded contemplatively. But before he could say much more to Jack, the others arrived for their first dance rehearsal. And Y/N came back with the painkillers for Jerry.
Once everyone was together, Jerry taught them all a little choreography. Y/N felt like they were getting the hang of it pretty well.
After a while, they decided to take a break and Kim hauled them off to the changing room to get into their 'dance gear'. Kim had brought a set of matching dance clothes for the two of them. Complete with a head band and leg warmers.
Kim skipped out excitedly to get back to work, with Y/N trudging along behind her. Trying to not let their distaste for the outfit be known.
"Okay! Let's do this!" Kim tittered,
The boys all stared, Jack looked confused, Milton and Eddie looked scared, and Jerry looked downright disgusted.
"What? This is how dancers dress!" Kim insisted
"Maybe in the 80's in Poland."Milton rebutted
Y/N smiled, "Just call us ABBA , then."
"I'm pretty sure that's Sweden." Jack corrected
Jerry groaned, "Come on, guys. We've got a lot of work to do. Are you ready?"
They all said some variation of yes.
"I can't hear you!"
Milton quirked an eyebrow, "Really? Because that was pretty loud."
He walked to Jerry and shouted in his ear.
"I think you might have some hearing loss!"
Y/N laughed, "Well, he certainly does now!"
Jerry rolled his eyes, "Alright. Here we go, whoo!"
They all ran to their opening spots as Jerry went to start the music. Jerry was jamming, feeling the music in his bones but when he turned to see the rest of the group... it was a hot mess. No one was doing the same move, and somehow everyone was off beat.
"Ah, esta gente que esta haciendo?" Jerry groaned, running to turn the music off, "Woah, woah, woah! Cut! Stop!"
They all slowly came to a stop.
"Okay, I taught you this." Jerry showed how it was supposed to be done, "You guys are doing this!"
Jerry proceeded to flail about for a moment.
"Come on, guys," Jerry pleaded, "Don't you have any dancing experience at all?"
Jack stepped forward, "Well, uh... I have my own victory dance I do every time I win a match."
Y/N glanced at Kim and the two folded their arms as they watched. Jack started jerking his neck like he was a chicken. Kim stifled a snort, and smacked Y/N when she giggled a little too loud. Jerry watched with a look of disgust on his face.
"If that's your victory dance, I'm gonna start rooting against you." Jerry said
"It's been a while since I danced onstage," Kim started, " But I think I'm just as good now as I was then."
Jerry sighed, "Milton, tell me there's a dancer hiding in there somewhere."
"Oh, believe you me, I have busted many a move." Milton confirmed
"Losing your shoe while Irish dancing doesn't count, Mil;." Y/N chided
"Eddie," Jerry begged, "Please give me some good news here."
"Well, I did go to Mrs.King's Dance Academy."
Jerry rolled his eyes, "Y/N?"
"I try very hard." Y/N offered
"This isn't working,"Jerry groaned, "Come on, guys, this is important to me. You gotta start trying."
"Woah, we're trying," Jack argued
The rest of them agreed.
"Maybe we should just take a break." Eddie suggested
The group got up to leave.
"Fine," Jerry snapped, "But before you go, think about this. When you dance, you gotta totally feel it. When I dance, I'm not thinking about anything. My head is absolutely empty."
"Right,"Kim sassed, "Like right before an algebra test."
They all hurried out of the dojo. Jerry calling after them.
"Hey, you guys better be ready to work when you get back!"
"Will do, Jer!" Y/N shouted back giving him a thumbs up
Eddie, Milton, Jack, Kim, and Y/N grabbed a table in the food court and sat. Eating their various snacks. Eddie and Milton went to Pirate Pete's, Kim went to the taco shop, and Jack and Y/N got Falafel Phil's.
They only took about ten minutes to eat, throw their things away, and go back, but when they got to the dojo Jerry wasn't there. Y/N went to the door.
"Guys, is that him at Falafel Phils?" Y/N asked
Jack came up beside her, "Huh, yeah, he must've slipped past when we were throwing our stuff away."
Jack headed out the door toward Jerry, the rest of them trailing after him.
"Jerry, what are you doing here?" Jack asked, "We were waiting for you back at the dojo."
"A little change of plans," Smooth answered, "Jerry's a part of my crew now. He wants to dance with the best. "
"What?" Jack said incredulously, "Jerry, is that true?"
"Yeah, it is true." Jerry confirmed confidently, "Hey, Smooth's a great dancer. And he's my only real shot to be a part of a winning crew."
Y/N stepped forward, hurt evident in their eyes, "You're kidding, right?"
"So, you would rather win than be with your friends?" Kim demanded
"Look, it's not about winning, okay?" Jerry backpedaled, "This guy also makes his own cocoa butter."
Smooth moved the Wasabi's out of the way and left with Jerry. Y/N felt tears prick their vision. Kim turned to them and engulfed them in a hug.
The next day, they went to Falafel Phil's before practice and found Jerry sipping on a drink alone. Y/N's eyes were red and puffy like they had been crying non stop.
"Well, if it's isn't Eggs Benedict." Eddie accused
"You mean Benedict Arnold?" Milton corrected
"No, I don't think I do."
Jack crossed his arms and turned his attention back to Jerry.
"Shouldn't you be practicing with your new Smooth dance friends?"
"They're not my friends," Jerry confessed, " Smooth just used me to steal my move."
"They stole the Jerry?" Kim asked
"Yeah, and it's not called the Jerry anymore. Now, it's called the Smooth. He just named it after himself. Ah, zero imagination."
"Jerry, you got us all excited about this dance thing. You said we were gonna do it together and then you bailed on us." Jack reprimanded, "Y/N only just stopped crying."
The group agreed, and Milton placed his around Y/N's shoulders and led them to the counter to order.
"Look, I'm never gonna be great at karate or a great school person." Jerry started
"Student." Milton chimed
"Whatever." Jerry dismissed, "Dancing's the one thing I'm really good at. And I just wanted everyone to see that. But you guys are my friends, and I shouldn't have walked out on you. So, I'm sorry."
Jerry started to leave, but Jack stopped him.
"Jerry, wait. If you still want to be in the contest, we'll be your crew." "Really?" Jerry asked, "Yes! The kid is back in the game! You guys are awesome!"
Milton chuckled, "Not at dancing. We still stink."
A woman stormed by with a blow-up man, "Would you excuse me, please I'm on a date!"
The blow-up man smack Jack in the face and Y/N burst into a fit of laughter. He reached over and smacked their shoulder playfully.
They spent all night rehearsing, doing everything they could to make Jerry look good. The next day, they stood in their decked out Gi dance outfits. Watching as Smooth performed his stolen move and the Step-Brothers blew everyone away.
"Wow! How 'bout that!" The MC praised, "Come on, guys, let's give it up for the Step-Brotherz! Did you see that last move? That was crazy! How do you come up with something like that?"
"Steal it," Y/N mumbled into Jack's ear, causing him to crack a smile
"By stealing it!" Jerry shouted
The dojo all yelled in support. Smooth's smile dropped for a moment before him and his crew hurried off the stage.
"Now, let's give it up for the last act of the competition..." The MC introduced, " The Wasabi Warriors!"
The group ran onstage, happily hyping themselves up. Y/N watched Jerry have a hushed conversation with Smooth until Jack went to get him. Once the two got into their positions, Jack reached over and squeezed Y/N's hand in reassurance.
The dance went off without a hitch, and they ended it with a loud:
"Wasabi!"
Jack picked up Y/N in a hug, causing them to squeal.
"I have the judges results!" The MC announced, "And this years winner are: The Step Brothers!"
Jerry shrugged and wrapped his arms around the group, "I thought you guys did awesome!" The MC came back to the stage.
"This year the judges also decided to give out a best individual dancer award, and it goes to:" Y/N watched Smooth walk toward the MC to preemptively collect it, "Jerry Martinez!"
Y/N clapped and hollered when Jerry's name was called
"Yes! Jerry you totally deserve it!" Y/N praised
"What? Jerry!" Smooth protested, "He's not that great! I could do what he did! Watch this!"
Smooth tried and failed to do Jerry's new move and went flying into the judges table. Y/N leaned into Jack's ear and whispered.
"Karma."
Jerry traipsed over to the edge of the stage Smooth had just fallen from.
"Not very smooth, Smooth! Whoo!" Jerry shouted, "Yeah, that's right! I'm taking my 'Whoo' back!"
Smooth sneered and stomped off. Jerry went back to the MC to give his acceptance speech.
"UH, yeah, I'd like to thank my mom, my dad, Rudy, my crew... couldn't have done it without you guys! Oh, and uh, one last thing I'd like to say is, five, six, seven, eight, and-"
Music started playing allowing for Jerry and Jack to do Jack's victory dance as Y/N and Kim twirled around together.

Masterlist ~ Chapter Five ~ Chapter Seven
Y/N felt like pulling out their hair. Everything had to be perfect, they had spent months planning this for Rudy. From decorations and food, to the guest list. This surprise party had to be perfect.
It already wasn't going well. The balloons were the wrong color, Jerry had picked up the wrong chips, and Jack was nowhere to be found.
Kim insisted Y/N go into the locker room to cool down. Because they were just running themself up the wall worrying like they were. After about ten minutes Kim sent Jerry to keep Y/N company since he was getting on her nerves.
Nearly an hour and half after he was supposed to be there, Jack finally strolled in.
"You're late," Kim grumbled
Jack quirked a brow, "For what?"
"Rudy's surprise birthday party, remember?" Eddie asked, "Y/N's been planning it forever. They've been freaking out since we got here."
"I thought Rudy knew about it?" Jack asked
"He does," Eddie confirmed, "He went over the details with Y/N two weeks ago when he found out."
"Shh, he's coming!" Rudy's own voice rang out
Rudy reached in and flicked out the lights. Before strolling and turning them on, as if he hadn't just turned them off.
"Surprise." The group said with no enthusiasm
Rudy placed a hand on his chest dramatically, "How did you know it was my birthday? Are you guys trying to kill me?"
He put on a cake hat.
"You better not have brought gifts!" He said, obviously expecting gifts, "But, if you did, now would be the time to load me up!"
Jack frantically chased after Milton, "Hey man, I don't have anything, can I get in on your gift?"
Milton shook his head, "Absolutely not! I put a lot of time, effort, and money into this thing!"
Milton handed the neatly wrapped gift to Rudy.
"This is from Jerry, Eddie, and Me." Milton told him
Rudy ripped it open, " Oh! Joke-a-day toilet paper! Get out! My cousin had this at his house. I literally laughed myself off the bowl! Thanks you guys!... Now, I don't want to turn this whole gift thing into a competition, but Kim, it's time to Top That Gift!"
Jack ran after her, "Kim, do you think I could get in on your--"
"Forget it, Jack," Kim cut him off, "I've got a winner right here. Just go ask your girlfriend."
Jack stood dumbfounded, fully realizing Y/N wasn't there for the first time.
"Unlike some people, I actually put a lot of thought into my gift. I hope you like it, Rudy." Kim said
Rudy ripped open the wrapping paper and gasped, "A signed picture of Bobby Wasabi? My hero, my idol, the man I patterned my life after? 'To whom it my concern, Bobby Wasabi'. That's me, I'm whom. I'm concerned! All right, Jack. Rock. My. World."
The group joined Rudy in crowding around Jack. Kim had a smug smirk on her face.
"Yeah, Jack,"Kim teased, "I'm sure Rudy saved the best for last."
Jack inhaled, trying to think quickly, "Well, you know, I was thinking... you know, everyone knows how much you love Bobby Wasabi. And I asked myself what could be better than a picture, right?"
"Only the man himself!" Rudy chimed, "Wait, wait, wait a minute. Are you saying what I think you're saying? You found a way to get Bobby Wasabi to come down here so I could meet him?"
"Yeah," Jack nodded hesitantly
Rudy bounced on his feet in excitement, "Wait, the founder of this dojo, an international movie star, someone who hasn't been seen in public in 20 years is coming to see me? I can't believe it!"
"None of us can believe it, Jack," Kim challenged
Milton spun around blindfolded with the piñata stick.
"Let's get this party started!" Milton cheered
His swings got out of control and he started moving sporadically around the dojo. Just as Y/N exited the locker room, now much calmer, and carrying a wrapped gift. Milton hit them with the stick and promptly tripped over them.
Once everyone had gotten Milton off of Y/N they each took their leave. Y/N was left alone with just Jack and Rudy. Y/N sat next to Rudy on the bench, handing him the wrapped box.
"What's this?" Rudy asked, genuinely surprised
"Your present,"Y/N explained," It's from Jack and I."
Jack's eyebrows shot up as Rudy looked between the two.
"Jack got me two gifts? That's so nice of him," Rudy said as he started to tear into the wrapping paper, "Seven tickets to the Light it Up Cinema?"
Y/N shrugged, "We rented out a theater for all day Saturday, we're having a Bobby Wasabi movie party!"
Rudy gave Y/N a quick hug before going and giving Jack one too.
"Best birthday, ever!" Rudy cheered as he went to his office
Jack looked at Y/N, "I didn't know you included me in your gift."
"Yeah, Kim said you'd forget so I just put your name on the card," They joked, "I didn't know you got him your own, I didn't mean to step on your toes there."
Jack shook his head, " I didn't. I panicked and told him Bobby Wasabi was coming to meet him."
"Jack, you didn't!" Y/N insisted
"I did!" He lamented
"Bobby Wasabi hasn't been seen in years, he'll never agree to come meet Rudy!"
Jack sighed, "I know!"
Y/N stood, "Let me brainstorm, we'll figure something out."
Y/N grabbed his hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze before leaving the dojo.
The next day at school Kim was still making fun of Jack for his lie.
"I cannot believe you told Rudy that Bobby Wasabi was coming." She teased
"I couldn't believe it either! Words just kept exploding out of me!" He replied, "It's like I had a case of liarrhea!"
"He's never gonna show, Jack." Kim continued, "And Rudy's gonna be crushed!"
"Bobby could show! I mean, my grandfather was his sensei! I found his number and left him a message. It was Y/N 's idea."
Kim frowned, "This could be bad. Remember how disappointed Rudy was when he lost the Name-the-Baby-Panda contest at the zoo?"
Jack shook his head at the memory, "Oh, I know. He put on his crying boots. I know what I said was wrong. But, I mean, who's crazy enough to believe that Bobby Wasabi is actually coming to our dojo?"
Of course, as he said it Jerry, Milton, and Eddie came running down the stairs.
"I can't believe Bobby Wasabi is actually coming to our dojo!" Jerry hollered
Y/N trailed down behind them, an amused smirk on their face.
Jerry hopped down the last couple steps, "Look, Jack! Bro, since Bobby's coming for Rudy's birthday, we've decided to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"
"We spent the whole night in Jerry's garage writing his comeback movie!" Eddie proudly showed off the script they had written
Jack glanced at Y/N, seeing the dark circle beneath their eyes. Of course Jerry had talked Y/N into helping them. Y/N gave Jack a tired smile and a small wave.
Kim took Jack by the shoulder and walked him a few paces away from the group.
"Wow, you hear all that, Jack?" She asked, "Our friends spent all night in a garage writing a comeback movie for Bobby Wasabi."
"What's bad about that?" Jack replied, "What if they wrote a really great movie?"
Milton chuckled, "Oh, It's better than great! It's epic! Bobby Wasabi is the biggest martial arts action star in history."
"An absolute hero!" Y/N chimed in
"But now he'll battle with the most diabolical force he's ever faced!" Eddie continued
"It's half piranha, half octopus!" Milton built up
"It's PIRANHAPUS!" The boys cheered together
"Eight arms!" Jerry demonstrated
"Nine mouths!" He continued
The four gnawed at the air.
"And one bad attitude!"
Jerry, Eddie, Milton, and Y/N lined up in a clearly rehearsed version of their ideal of Piranhapus. Flailing their arms and gnashing their teeth. All while Kim and Jack stared on.
After school, Eddie, Milton, Jerry, and Y/N sat together staring at the waste of money before them.
"We paid your cousin 50 bucks to make a model of Piranhapus,"Eddie grumbled, "And this is what we get?"
The model was a basketball with hose arms. It looked like shit to be completely frank. Y/N put their head in their hands, a headache forming over the boys bickering.
"You should be happy he gave us a deal." Jerry insisted, "I mean he took our vision and brought it to life!"
Y/N shook their head, "My little brother could have made this, Jerry!"
"Isn't he 4?"
"Exactly!" They snapped back
Eddie placed a hand on Y/N's shoulder, "Dude, we can't show this thing to Bobby Wasabi. It's a joke!"
"No, you know what's a joke?" Jerry snapped,"That tacky ending you wrote. Bro, you ruined our movie!"
"My ending is perfect!" Eddie defended, "No one could even see it coming!"
"Of course they can't see it coming!" Milton finally spoke, "How does a walrus operate a hang glider?"
"Guys, come on-" Y/N tried to intervene
"You know what? Well, here's what we think of your ending!" Jerry interrupted
He ripped out the last page of the script and ripped it into tiny pieces, throwing it across the table. It landed on Y/N's lap and a little bit in their hair. But, Y/N was more focused on the boys fighting in front of them.
Eddie stood, "That's it!"
Eddie lunged at Jerry and started smacking him. Milton jumped on Eddie's back and the three continued to fight as Y/N tried to pull them off of each other.
"Guys, stop it!" Y/N shouted, "Come on! This was supposed to be fun!"
Jack and Kim entered the food court and saw their friends fighting. Jack ran to them.
"Hey, guys, what are you doing?" He shouted, "Stop! Get away! Come on!"
He gently pulled Y/N back before roughly grabbing one of Eddie's shoulders as Kim grabbed the other. Once they were separated, Kim went to check on Y/N.
"What is going on?" Jack asked
"This Bobby Wasabi movie is tearing us apart!" Milton answered
Milton plopped down in a chair next to Y/N, allowing them to lay their head on his shoulder. Kim pushed Jack to the side.
"Jack this is crazy!" Kim whispered harshly, "Just tell them the truth.'
Jack sighed, "You're right."
He slowly approached his friends.
"Guys, you remember how I said that Bobby Wasabi was coming to our dojo?" Jack began
"Yeah," They answered in unison
"Well," Jack continued, "The truth is...-"
Before Jack could finish a man walked by and took one of Jerry;s falafels. Jerry stood angrily, pointing his fork.
"Hey, beef meats!" Jerry called, " Who do you think you are?"
The man turned around, flicking his hair out of his face. Y/N was on their feet in a second.
"Holy mackerel," Y/N whispered, "That's-"
"I am," The man said, throwing the falafel onto Jerry's fork," Bobby Wasabi."
Bobby turned and entered the dojo.
"Woah," The all awed
Y/N was quick to run inside after him. Y/N watched as Rudy left his office. Rudy looked in confusion at Bobby staring at their trophies.
"Uh, sorry ma'am, we're closed." Rudy said politely beginning to approach, "If you're looking for the Large and Loving It Dress shop, it's on the other side of the mall!"
Bobby turned to Rudy, "What was that?"
Finally, Jack and the rest of them sprinted inside.
"Rudy! Rudy!" Jack shouted, "Your birthday presents' here!"
Jack pointed at Bobby.
"It's Bobby Wasabi!"
"Yeah!" Jerry corroborated
"You wanna know why he's here?" Jack gloated, " Because when I say I can deliver, what happens? Oh, that's right, I deliver!"
Y/N chuckled anxiously at Jack's display.
Rudy laughed, "That's a great joke! You hire some big betty to squeeze into a dress and then wobble in here saying he's Bobby Wasabi! It's hilarious!"
Y/N sucked in a gasp, "No, Rudy, really-"
Bobby cut them off, "You don't think that I am Bobby Wasabi?"
He stood beside a cardboard cutout of himself. In all fairness to Rudy he did look quite different. Rudy gave him an unimpressed look.
"No ma'am or sir, I do not." Rudy agreed
Y/N barked out a chuckle. Bobby Wasabi and Jack shot them a look.
Bobby approached Rudy, "That is it!"
He began screeching and attacked Rudy. Rudy easily beat him, flipping him like it was nothing onto the mat.
The whole group was cringing. Y/N warily approached Bobby, offering him a hand up as Kim and Milton ran to do the same. Jack ran to Rudy.
"Rudy, this is no joke!" He insisted, "That really is Bobby Wasabi!"
Rudy finally seemed to believe Jack.
"Oh," He exhaled, stood next to Bobby, "Oh. OH!"
"Oh, Bobby, I'm sorry Mr.Wasabi!" Jack said as the group moved to help Y/N, Kim, and Milton in their effort to get him up
"Mr.Wasabi, I'm so sorry fro the misunderstanding." Rudy apologized, "Um, welcome to my dojo!"
Y/N could practically see the steam coming out of Bobby's ears with how angry he was.
"This is not your dojo," Bobby huffed, "This is my dojo, and you are fired!"
Bobby flipped his hair as he left the dojo. No one knew what to say, so they also left.
Y/N stayed back with Rudy, who was absolutely distraught.
"Everything will be okay, Rudy!" Y/N insisted, "I'm going to figure out how to let you keep your job
Rudy shook his head, "Go home, Y/N."
Y/N pulled him into a hug.
"I'm not giving up on you, Rudy," They told him, "Please don't give up on me."
Rudy gave a weak nod, and Y/N left him to his business.
The next day at school, Kim was still going after Jack for everything. They were all walking together, save for Y/N.
"Nice birthday present, Jack!" Kim exclaimed, "You got Rudy fired. Maybe next year you can give him a balloon and push him down the stairs!"
The five sat down near Jerry's locker, at the foot of the stairs.
"The worst part is, the Bobby Wasabi comeback movie is dead!" Milton complained, "Say goodbye to my Hollywood dream."
Y/N came down the stairs.
"What's Rudy gonna do without a job?" Kim asked
"He'll be fine! Guys like Rudy land on their feet!" Jack replied, " I wouldn't be surprised if he's already found a better job!"
"Not exactly better," Y/N cut in, "But, it's a job."
Jack quirked an eyebrow at them, "What do you mean?"
"Let me just show you guys."Y/N said as the final bell of the day rang
Y/N took the group to the mall, and into Reptile World of all places. As they walked in, Lonnie ran by wailing about a toothbrush. Y/N nodded toward Rudy in his new uniform.
"Hey guys!" Rudy greeted, "What are you guys doing here?"
Rudy's smile didn't quite meet his eyes.
"You know, we just came by to see how you're doing," Jack answered
Rudy waved him off, "Yeah, don't worry about me! I'm doing swell--swell, I tell you."
Rudy began to tear up, and Y/N stepped forward to gently pat his back. Then.Rudy ran off into the back room crying.Y/N watched a wave of guilt fall over Jack.
"Guys this is my fault." Jack admitted, "Rudy's a third degree black belt, and now he's scrubbing turtle butt!"
Jack paused to think. Y/N looked him in the eye, a glint of mischief in them.
"Bobby Wasabi took away his job, and Bobby Wasabi is gonna give it back." Y/N plotted
Jack gave them a high five.
That night they found Bobby Wasabi's mansion. They stood outside the gate as Eddie repeatedly pressed the buzzer.
"He's not answering!" Eddie complained, "How do we know he's even in there?"
Kim rolled her eyes. "Well, someone just ordered a truckload of pastrami!"
They all backed away from the gate. Jack sighed.
"Guys, it took three busses to get here!" Jack said, "So we're just gonna have to break in!"
Y/N turned and saw Milton slip through the bars of the gate. He gestured for them to follow, they did with a bit more effort than he needed. but Y/N also got through.
"Not happening, man," Jerry said, as Y/N squeezed through, " Guys like Wasabi have million dollar security systems." Y/N pointed at a big red button for Milton to go press. When he did, the gate opened. The group entered while Jerry still meandered on about different security measures Wasabi would have.
Y/N grabbed Jerry by the collar and shoved him toward the front door with the others.
Once they got inside, the group stayed as quiet as they could. Peering around corners and trying to stay together. They came to a new hallway.
"Oh no," Kim warned, "That's not good."
She pointed to a "Ninja Xing" sign on the wall. Jerry scoffed.
"Oh come on, it's just one of those gag signs you buy at the car wash!" He insisted
As he finished his sentence four ninja's landed on the ground in front of the group.
"Oh, really, Jerry?" Y/N teased
"Jerry, I don't think it's a gag,"Milton whimpered, "NINJAS!"
The group all ran screaming, splitting up. Jack and Kim ran in one direction, Eddie and Milton in another, and Y/N and Jerry in the third.
Jerry and Y/N got to a dead end and started trying door handles. As they did one of the ninjas came up on them. Jerry paused as Y/N took a swing at the ninja.
"So, what's going on with you and Jack?" Jerry asked as he landed a kick
Y/N whipped their head to him, "What are you talking about?"
Y/N slung the Ninja over their shoulder and to the floor.
"You two are being weird around each other since Truman messed with us." Jerry replied
"We got into a fight," Y/N huffed, standing off of the unconscious ninja, " And I yelled at him that I have a crush on him. But, we're good now, we're ignoring it."
Jerry laughed, "No you're not."
"He is."
Before Jerry could reply, the ninja stood and struck Y/N on the back of the neck. Knocking them out. Jerry held his hands up in surrender.
The ninja picked up Y/N and carried them over his shoulder as they guided Jerry by the back of his neck. They were brought straight to Bobby Wasabi. Y/N was dumped unceremoniously on the ground in front of Milton and Eddy who had evidently also been caught.
"Show some respect!" Milton complained as Y/N hit the floor
"What did he do to them!" Eddie yelled
Bobby waved his hand to silence them, "You lot are in so much trouble. You broke into my house, which means when I call the police you are going to jail. Including Sleeping Beauty there."
They stood dumbfounded.
"Sausage me!" Bobby ordered
One of his ninjas threw two hot dogs into buns another ninja was holding, which were then handed to Bobby Wasabi.
"That's the most incredible thing I've ever seen!" Eddie said in awe, "Sausage me!"
The ninja moved to throw sausages to Eddie.
"Don't you dare sausage him, Evan!" Bobby interrupted, "Take them away! Leave the unconscious one."
Milton yelled, "Fine! Take us away! But when we leave, your big comeback movie leaves with us!"
"How's that now? What?" Bobby stood, "What?"
The ninjas let go. Jerry hautily approached.
"It just so happens we wrote the greatest movie of your career,"Jerry boasted
"A little something called Bobby Wasabi vs. Piranhapus!" Eddie continued
Milton got next to Bobby, "It's half piranha, half octopus!"
"So it's a little piranha with eight tentacles?" Bobby asked
Jerry jumped up on Bobby's other side, "Try a giant octopus with vicious piranha teeth at the end of each tentacle!"
Bobby chuckled, "Ohhhh! I want to fight that thing so bad! I can almost taste it!"
Bobby paused.
"No, that's a little sausage juice left in my mustache."
The boys proceeded to explain the plot to Bobby Wasabi, who listened adamantly. Milton and Eddie sat next to Bobby on the right, while Jerry sat on his left with the still unconscious Y/N in his lap.
"The End." Milton finished
Bobby broke into tears, " That's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard!"
The alarm started blaring and Bobby was immediately on his feet. Jerry scooted away, holding Y/N closer.
"Either security's been breached or my pot pie's ready!" Bobby announced
The doors burst open, revealing Jack and Kim still being pursued by three ninjas. Jack faltered seeing Y/N unconscious.
"Hey, Bobby, I've been looking for you!" Jack announced
"Get them!" Bobby ordered
The rest of his ninjas went after Jack and Kim. Milton and Eddie helped Jerry move Y/N off to the side, out of danger. Y/N gently stirred to life just in time to see Jack tap Kim's hip for her to jump on him and kick three ninjas away.
Jerry pushed some hair out of Y/N's face.
"You're okay," He whispered
Y/N nodded and fell back asleep.
Kim and Jack made quick work of the ninjas. Leaving Bobby positively impressed.
The ninjas got up and moved to restrain Jack and Kim. Bobby stood.
"Hang on a second!"Bobby shouted, "That was the perfect Flying Dragon kick."
Jack stood proudly, "My grandfather taught it to me."
"Well, I can't think that your grandfather would approve of you breaking into my house." Bobby said
"No," Jack agreed, "But, he would approve of me standing up for my sensei."
"Your sensei called me a man lady." Bobby pointed out
"It was an honest mistake!" Jack countered, " You've got a ponytail and that thing you're wearing kind of looks like a dress."
"It's a kaftan! It's breathable, wrinkled-free, and great for those on-the-go days!"
"Mr.Wasabi," Jack replied," what was the one thing that all of your movies had?"
"Hot chicks, explosions, and a sassy orangutan sidekick." He answered with no hesitation
"Everyone loved Dr.Bananas!" Jack agreed
Everyone in the room agreed.
"But your movies also had you!" Jack continued, " A man that lived by the Wasabi code. That's the code Sensei Rudy still lives by."
Jack looked to his friends who joined him in the Wasabi code.
"We swear by the light of the dragon's eye," They all said
Bobby looked at them and finished the saying, "To be loyal, honest, and never say die."
"Wasabi." They all finished
"Bobby look, Rudy's far from perfect. But he's more than just a great sensei. He's our friend." Jack insisted, " Do the right thing. Give him his job back."
Y/N's eyes fluttered open, and Jerry gently helped them to their feet. As Bobby contemplated his options, disco music filled the air and a random man came in dancing dressed from the 70's. He grabbed a plunger and danced his way out.
"I hit my head harder than I thought," Y/N said
"Okay, who was that guy?" Kim asked
Bobby shrugged, " I have no idea. I'm just glad that you could see him too."
The group left, Bobby promised to meet them at the mall the next day to give Rudy his job back. Jerry kept his arm around Y/N to keep them steady.
At the mall they waited for their parents to pick them up. Jack checked over Y/N as soon as he could.
"Are you okay?" He asked
Y/N nodded, "Just a headache now."
"I was really worried about you."
"I'm okay, I promise."
Their voices weren't above a whisper. They looked into each others eyes. Jack started to lean in when a car horn honked. It was his mom. He turned around quickly.
"I'll see you tomorrow." He promised
Y/N nodded and left on their walk back home.
The next day Y/N pointed Bobby toward Reptile World. The group stayed outside waiting anxiously to see Rudy. After a few minutes, Bobby came out carrying Rudy like a bride. Eddie stood and started clapping prompting the rest of the food court to join in. Y/N went to the doors of the dojo and held it open for Rudy. As he entered the dojo Rudy pulled them into a bone-crushing hug.
"Thanks for everything," Rudy gratified
Friday after school they started filming Bobby Wasabi vs. Piranhapus.
"Bobby Wasabi vs. Piranhapus take one!" Jack announced clapping the slate'
Lonnie ran out of his shop yelling, "Help me! It's horrible!" A giant tentacle came out of the shop door ad wrapped around him, pulling him inside.
Bobby turned to the camera and recited his line,
"CUT!" Milton shouted
Milton approached Bobby.
"Bobby, baby, bubby!" Milton coaxed, " You're killing me! Where's the energy?"
Bobby nodded, "You're right, I phoned that one in!" Milton turned to Eddie on boom.
"Eddie, go in there and tell Jerry and Y/N to take it easy with that giant tentacle, they're going way too big!" Eddie nodded.
Jerry and Y/N jogged up bickering.
"It's totally your fault!" Y/N blamed
"Hush!" Jerry demanded, "Hey, guys, sorry we're late! They wouldn't let us on the bus with this thing!"
"They let us on the bus, but kicked us off when he smacked the driver with it!" Y/N clarified
"Wait a minute," Eddie said, " If you're here with this, then what was--"
As they looked at Reptile World, Lonnie slammed against the window covered in goop. They all quickly packed their things and ran.
Y/N ran into the dojo with Jack close behind. They looked at each other and burst into a fit of giggles.

Masterlist ~ Chapter Four ~ Chapter Six
Everyone was stretching in the dojo when Jerry ran in.
"Guys, huge problem!" He started, "Kelsey Vargas, the coolest girl in school, is on her way down here."
"Don't panic." Jack assured, "We've trained for this. Guys, bust out the emergency deodorant."
Y/N rolled their eyes, "So you'll put on deodorant for Kelsey, but not for Kim and I? Way to make some girls feel special."
Jerry rolled his eyes, "I don't need deodorant!"
"Yes, you do." Y/N said
"We all need deodorant. We're teenage boys." Milton replied, " Our bodies are a smorgasbord of smells.
Eddie nodded, "I'm not taking any chances, I'm wearing a necklace made of air fresheners right now."
He pulled out a necklace of tree shaped air fresheners and inhaled.
"This week I'm Alpine Meadow."
Jerry shook his head and turned to Y/N and Kim.
"I told Kelsey I was a martial arts expert and the youngest sensei in history." Jerry explained
Y/N cackled, "Oh, you're screwed dude."
Kim made a face and walked off. Rudy approached Jerry.
"Jerry," Rudy greeted
"Oh, Rudy, Kelsey's on her way." Jerry replied, "Dude, please hook me up with that black belt!" Rudy frowned, "You can't have this belt! Its a symbol of hard work, honor, and respect."
"Well, then why do you use it to walk your dog?" Jack asked
Rudy turned to Jack, "That was one time and it was an emergency. I had a pug with the squirts and new white carpet! Look, can we stop talking and get to sparring please?"
Rudy looked around, " Jerry, you're up against Kim. Milton, you're with Y/N. Eddie, you're with Jack."
"Jack?!" Eddie despaired
Jack did some warm up moves, much to Eddie's dismay. Y/N chuckled.
"Don't scare him too much, Jack." They hollered
Jack smiled, "Wouldn't dream of it."
"Uh, hold on. My phone is vibrating," Eddie panicked, " You know I hate to be that guy but- Hello?"
Eddie held his wallet to his face.
"You mean the guy who pretends his wallet is a phone?" Jack replied
Eddie shushed him, "Please, shh! Can you hear me now?"
And Eddie left the dojo.
Rudy clapped his hands, "Come on, guys, let's go!"
As they all prepped to spar, Kelsey walked into the dojo she stopped standing next to Rudy. Y/N waved lightly as they settled into their stance opposite Milton.
"Hi, Jerry," Kelsey greeted
Jerry spun around, "Kelsey, what a surprise."
"So, these are your students who fear and respect you?" She asked
Kim smiled tightly, "Yes, we are. I'm about to fear and respect the living grits out of him right now."
"Oh, no," Jerry panicked, quietly toward Kim, "Not my grits, I'm gonna need my grits!"
Kim was quick to grab his arm and flip him. Y/N cackled, offering Kim a high five.
"Wipeout!" Y/N chuckled
Jerry stumbled to his feet, "Yeah, I'd say you've got that move down pretty well! Oh, you guys take a five. Kelsey and I are gonna get a froyo."
Jerry stumbled toward Kelsey and Rudy.
"Oh, come on, Kelsey," Jerry groaned
Kelsey put out her arm to go with him, but Jerry stumbled and wrapped his arm around Rudy instead. Leaving Kelsey confused.
At school the next day, Jerry was all grump because of Kim embarrassing him.
He stalked down the stairs, "Hey, thanks a lot, Kim! You cost me a date with the coolest girl in school!"
"What are you gonna do, sensei, "She asked sarcastically, "throw me out of the dojo?"
Eddie chuckled.
"Kim, in the future, let's respect Jerry enough not to embarrass him in front of the girls he's lying to." Jack teased
Jerry completely missed the point, "Thank you , Jack! It's called decency, Kim."
The four heard a kazoo playing fanfare and kids laughing on the other end of the hall. They watched as Milton and Y/N marched through in totally embarrassing (in their opinion) royal garb.
Milton trotted to the staircase and announced, "All hail Miltonius, and his enchanting sidekick the Lady Y/N/N! The newly crowned king and queen of Narnia!"
"See, Milton, this is the reason you had to go to spring formal with a bio lab skeleton." Jack pointed out, "And Y/N what are you doing?"
"I'll have you know that Bonita is an excellent dancer," Milton protested
Y/N shrugged, "I'm having fun, Jack. I even made mine and Milton's outfits, do you like?"
Y/N did a little twirl, showing off the intricate design they'd sewn. Jerry smiled and offered a little clap for them.
Eddie interjected, "Hey, I know what's going on! It's that time of year when all the dorks come out and play swords and magic in the park!"
"Or if it rains we use the bingo hall at the senior center!" Milton added, "We tear it up!"
"Yeah we do!" Y/N cheered, giving Milton a high-five
As they spoke, Kelsey walked past the group.
"Hi, Jerry," She greeted
Jerry pushed Milton and Y/N out of the way, "Hey, Kelsey. I was just talking to these kids I've never seen before! I don't even know their names! Right, Milton? Really, Jerry?"
Milton ignored him, "Guys, big news! This year, you guys are all gonna participate in the battle with us!"
"It's going to be so fun!" Y/N chimed in
"What happened to all your other friends?" Kim asked, "You know, the ones who throw up when I try to talk to them."
"This years things are a little complicated," Milton explained, " Francis has a bassoon recital, Jeffrey is a finalist in the Mathlympics, and Louis got grounded for teaching his cockatiel bed words."
"Dude, we're not gonna be a part of your nerdfest," Jerry protested
Milton chuckled, "Very funny, Jerry."
"Nerdfest is in Minneapolis in October, duh!" Y/N laughed
Jack stood, "See, Milton, a bunch of dudes in tights running around the woods beating each other senseless with foam swords-- It's just not our thing."
"Well, it's our thing," Milton proposed, gesturing to Y/N, " And we wanna share this moment with my best friends. That's you guys."
Eddie shook his head, "I don't know. I just quit the cello and threw out my panda bear backpack. I'm just starting to get cool!"
"Come on! Just give it a chance!" Milton pleaded
Y/N looked at the ground, realizing their friends weren't going to budge. Which suddenly made them feel very uncomfortable in their outfit.
"Soon you'll know the exhilaration of bonding down a hill, cape aflutter, to slay a half-elf with a foam rubber axe!" Milton insisted, "Are you with me? All for one and one for- Gah!"
He shouted in despair as he realized the rest of their friends had left them.
"I probably lost them at 'cape aflutter'!" He bemoaned
Y/N played with the lace on the cuffs of their sleeves, pulling lightly at the loose threads they had yet to surge off. Milton came over and put a hand on their shoulder.
"I already made their outfits," Y/N mumbled
"I know, buddy, I know." Milton said empathetically before guiding them away
After school, Milton and Y/N were the first to the dojo. Immediately, Milton was complaining to Rudy while Y/N sat sullenly on a bench.
"I can't believe our own friends bailed on us!" Milton grumbled
Rudy shrugged, "I don't know. Running around in the woods, beating other dudes senseless with foam swords? That just sounds like a good time to me!"
Milton huffed, "Y/N made their costumes and everything!"
"You know what?" Rudy asked, "I love stuff like this!"
Y/N's eyes shot up, a small smile on their face. Milton turned and looked at their sensei.
"Are you saying you'll go into battle with me?" Milton asked hopefully
Rudy smiled, "It would be an honor... my lord."
Rudy bowed to Milton, who couldn't wipe the smile from his face.
"Wow," Milton acknowledged, "You two may be the only real friends I have."
Milton turned and grabbed a bo staff off the wall. He held it high with a smile.
"With this bo staff I bud thee, Rudy, my faithful squire!" Milton announced
"I can't believe it," Rudy giggled, "I'm a squire! I'm a squire! I'm a squire!"
That weekend, Rudy, Y/N, and Milton all took to the park with their weapons and costumes to go into battle. Rudy, being the squire, had the backpack full of everything. The three stumbled into the clearing where battle would start.
Rudy gasped for air, "You know, I don't think this squiring thing is for me."
"This turkey leg isn't gonna salt itself!" Milton insisted
Y/N chuckled, "My lord, I think we ought to give him a break."
Rudy huffed and pulled out his salt shaker, salting the turkey leg as Milton had asked.
"Dang it, I left my grape juice in the Port-a-Pooper!" Milton complained
Rudy shook his head.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Go get it!"
Rudy turned and hobbled away to get Milton his grape juice. Y/N turned to Milton.
"Don't get me wrong, Mil. I'm glad Rudy is here," Y/N began, "But, I kind of wish Jerry or at least Eddie was here."
Milton sighed, "Yeah, me too. But, at least Rudy didn't leave us hanging, right?"
Y/N shrugged, "Yeah, I guess it just hurts that they weren't really willing to do for us what we do for them. I almost kissed Truman for Eddie, and he won't put on a cape and beat some guys up for us?"
"Yeah, I know Y/N/N, but we have each other. And we have Rudy."
Meanwhile, back at the dojo Jack, Eddie, and Kim exited into the food court as Jerry danced up. He was in a really good mood.
"Oh, guys, check it out! I smoothed everything out with Kelsey!" Jerry announced, " I promised I would never lie to her again, and I got a date with her this afternoon."
"Yeah!" Eddie encouraged
"The kid is back in the game! Whoo!" Jerry cheered
Jack dapped him up. But Eddie pointed out something behind them both.
"Nerd alert," Eddie stated
They turned around as Sidney and his friends approached.
"Greetings. We are the Dark Knights!" Sidney announced, "Warriors known for being brave and ferocious and-"
Kim cut him off, "Ferocious? Sidney, you cried in science when your fruit fly died."
"That fruit fly left behind 3,000 babies." Sidney narrowed his eyes, " Milton and Y/N said they put together a band of loyal warriors that will finally capture our grail and defeat us. Like that's going to happen!"
Sidney gave his best (yet it was still terrible) evil laugh. Jack cringed.
"Dude, dude, dude," Jack protested, "That evil laugh is so not working."
Sidney turned to his other friend, "Thanks, Benny. You told me it was intimidating!"
Benny shrugged, Sidney stormed off past him. Leaving the four Wasabi warriors in their place.
Jack was first to break the silence.
"Woah, guys, Milton and Y/N called us their loyal warriors." Jack considered, "Now they're gonna be out there all alone against a flock of dweebs hopped up on Honey Buns."
Kim grimaced, "Uhm, Jack, are you saying we should go to the park and help them? Because, uhh- I-- I can't. My, uh, Aunt Charlotte-- yeah, she's coming in from, uhm, Charlotte and we're gonna go watch Charlotte's Web. Wow, I am not good at lying."
Jack sighed, "Look, they've both always been there for us! Jerry, what about that time where you tried to get Kelsey jealous by making her think you were dating a cheerleader? Who helped you out?"
"Milton," Jerry conceded, "Wow, you're right. He was there for me... Did you know that Brian Donnelly actually asked him out?"
"Eddie," Jack insisted, "What about you? You hate going to visit your nana."
Eddie nodded, "That's because she always wants to do things to my hair."
"But who always goes with you?" Jack asked
"Y/N and Milton," Eddie answered, "Sometimes I think nana loves them more than me. And I'm okay with that!"
"And Kim!" Jack continued, "What about that time at the St.Patrick's Day Concert when you lost your voice? Who got you through that?"
Kim sighed as she thought back, "Y/N."
Jack looked around at his friends.
"Guys, I think you know what we have to do." He incited
They all went inside and changed into the outfits Y/N had hung up for them in the locker room. Eddie and Jack exited, Eddie dressed like a bardish elf and Jack dressed like an English knight.
"Seriously?" Eddie complained, "Is this really what we have to do?"
"Yes, it is!" Jack insisted, grimacing himself
The two tried to adjust themselves to be as comfortable as possible. As Kim and Jerry exited. Kim wearing the pink and purple princess dress that had been sewn for her, and Jerry in his tartan kilt.
"Come on," Jerry grumbled, "Let's go to the park."
"I don't get it," Kim groaned, "Why do I have to be the princess?"
"I am not swapping!" Eddie was quick to say
Then the four took off toward the park. Jerry slowed for a moment and looked at a lady who had been staring.
"Hey lady," he snapped, "Eyes up here, okay? Ugh, these sexy legs are a curse!"
The four tromped through the park, out of breath and sweaty as all get out.
"I can't take this anymore!" Eddie hollered, "It's hot, my feet are killing me, and these elf ears are starting to get sweaty!" He pulled one of the ears off and wrung out the sweat from it to prove his point. Causing Jack and Kim to grimace.
"You don't get to complain," Jack countered, "We could have stayed on the path to the battlefield, but noOoOoO, you knew a shortcut through the woods!"
Jack snatched the ear out of Eddies hand and yelled into it.
"This is not a shortcut Eddie!"
"Relax!" Eddie insisted, "I'm an Explorer Scout! I was trained to navigate by the stars!"
Kim started smacking her palm with her wand, "Oh, I can help you see the stars alright!'
Jack grabbed her shoulders and stopped as she moved towards Eddie angrily.
"Woah, woah, come on guys," He mediated, "We have to focus. Their battle starts in a half-hour."
Meanwhile, Milton and Y/N stood with Rudy as they met at the summit prior to the battle.
"So, where is this big loyal army you've been bragging about?" Sidney asked
"Yeah, guys, where are they?" Sidney's wizard asked
Rudy stuck his arm out, "I've got this, your highnesses. Yeah, we may be outnumbered, but my king and our queen have the heart of a lion! And I have the speed of a--a-- you know those animals with the pointy ears and they're really fast?"
"A gazelle?" Sidney offered
"Yeah," Rudy agreed, "Wait, no, no, they're skinny and they don't really run so much as--as just bound! And they kind of go grrr! And, oh it's right on the tip of my tongue!"
"Squire!" Milton interjected, "Let's just go over the rules. One, the first team to capture the other's grail and place it on the pedestal of glory next to their own is the winner."
Sidney nodded, "Rule two, if you get struck on the chest you're out."
"Cheetah!" Rudy shouted, "Sorry, it's the animal I was thinking of earlier. It just popped into my head. Sorry, keep going."
Y/N stepped up, "Rule three, no cursing or foul language. Unless it's a medieval word like 'zounds'!"
The Dark Knights gasped, Rudy placed a hand on their shoulder.
"Y/N, you are better than that!" Rudy insisted
"Not today I'm not," They smirked
The three went to their base to prepare for battle. They watched the Dark Knights parry with their swords.
"Oh, this will not end well for us," Y/N mumbled,"Milton, I fear our defeat is imminent."
Milton looked at Y/N with a bit of sadness in his eyes.
"Rudy, this looks bad," Milton spoke, "They'll be coming for our grail soon and I think you should know, I probably won't be going home with you."
Rudy's eyes hardened, "No, don't you talk like that. You're so young! You've got your whole life ahead of you."
"No!" Milton clarified, "I won't be going home with you because my mom is picking me up here to take me to the orthodontist."
Rudy nodded, "Look, whatever happens down there, It's been an honor to serve under you."
Rudy saluted vigorously. Y/N smiled.
"Rudy, can I get a ride back to the dojo after this?" Y/N asked
He nodded.
"Rudy, I've been thinking," Milton said, "If you're the only one who stood by us."
Milton looked to Y/N for permission, they nodded willingly. Milton unsheathed his sword.
"I hereby dub thee, Sir Rudy, our faithful knight!"
"I can't believe this!" Rudy cheered, "It's all happening so fast! Pretty good for a kid from the wrong side of the tracks with nothing but a pocketful of dreams! Not gonna cry... not gonna cry."
"Get it together!" Y/N snapped
The fanfare blew as they said that.
"We're going into battle," Milton announced
Y/N drew their rubber sword, Milton handed Rudy his then pulled a backup.
"Men, I can think of no greater warriors to fight with." Y/N complimented, "May our souls be lain in glory."
The Dark Knight collectively yelled, "Charge!" Then, Milton, Rudy, and Y/N were back to back. A triangle of threat to anyone who dared go for their grail.
All the while, Jack, Jerry, Eddie, and Kim were still running from the bees that they'd agitated.
"I think we finally lost the bees," Jack panted, "Where's Kim and Eddie?"
Jerry huffed and puffed for a second, "Oh, Kim got her hair tangled up in a thorn bush. Eddie's trying to get her out."
Eddie ran into the clearing, "It took a while, but I finally got Kim's head out of that bush! Luckily I had my official Explorer Scout pocket knife."
Kim walked in, her hair spiked up where Eddie had had to cut it. The three boys gasped. Kim smiled at them.
"Guys, the battlefield is just over there," She pointed out, "Come on!"
She ran off toward the battlefield, leaving Jack, Jerry, and Eddie behind.
Jack turned, "Eddie, even if you make it out of this battle alive, Kim's gonna kill you."
Then Jack took off in a run toward the battlefield. Jerry stepped toward Eddie.
"Wait, that was Kim?" Jerry asked
In the heat of the battle, Milton, Rudy, and Y/N fought valiantly. Swords clashing with fervor as they guarded what was rightfully theirs.
"I don't thinkI have much left," Rudy commented, "My tights are riding up, I got sunblock in my eye, and if I don't get a potty break soon something really bad's gonna happen."
"Rudy, focus!" Y/N insisted as their sword clashed with Sidney's
"Something better not happen!" Milton replied, "Those pantaloons are rented! Battle on! We must protect the grail at all costs!"
"Aye, your majesty!" Y/N shouted as their sword locked with the wizards this time
Sidney knocked Milton's sword from his hand, "It's over Miltonious! Prepare to taste my foam!"
Before Y/N could move to protect Milton, a foam axe flew through the air and hit Sidney. Knocking the sword from his hand. All eyes shot to the perpetrator.
"Ow! Who threw that!" Sidney whined
Jack.
Y/N's face broke into a huge smile as the four sprinted across the battlefield screaming to join them.
Y/N heard Sidney say, "His arm is made of ogres!" Y/N took a swing with their swords, "That is a princess and her loyal knights, you Scobberlotcher!"
Sidney and his knights gasped at the words Y/N had used. Sidney swept up his sword from the ground.
"Retreat! Retreat!" He squeaked out
The four joined Milton, Rudy, and Y/N at their pedestal of glory. Y/N smiled and gave Jerry a tight hug.
"You guys made it!" Milton smiled
"I hoped you would show up," Y/N revealed
Jack panted, "This may not be our thing, but if it means something to you guys, then we're with you, King Miltonious and Queen Y/N/N!"
Milton's smile widened, "Thanks! Who's the dude with the punked out mullet?"
Y/N's eyes scanned and landed on Kim and her janky hairdo. A gasped escaped them as their hand flew to their mouth in shock. Kim looked just as confused.
"All right guys, hands in," Jack was quick to switch subjects, "We've got us a grail to capture."
Everyone piled their hands in, "Wasabi!"
"Charge!" Milton shouted
The group took off in a run toward the Dark Knights, a battle cry loud in their throats. Jerry immediately took down one guy, Eddie psyched out three on accident and they were taken out, and Kim got two.
Rudy stayed a guarded the grail with Y/N on the foreground trying to prevent anyone from getting that close. Jack was taking care of five of them at once. While Y/N had another three. One knocked their sword from their hand. Y/N surely thought they were done for. But, Jack came in from the back, kicked them their sword and fought back to back with them.
When he was done with his enemies Jack celebrated, doing a stupid little running man.
"Yeah!" He hollered, " Don't mess with the Jack!"
Y/N chuckled as they watched him fall into a bush.
Across the battlefield, Milton was locked in battle with Sidney. When his sword was knocked from his hand. He used the swing set to kick Sidney away, then used the flag to pole vault over the knights. Milton got his hand of their grail and grabbed a loose sword. He charged back toward their base and slipped through the knights as they charged. He tripped on his way down, turning the knights attention to him.
Y/N watched Milton set the grail on the teeter-totter. Immediately, they nudged Jack.
"Give me a boost, huh?" They asked
Jack looked and understood what they meant. He cupped his hands as Y/N backed up to get a running start. Y/N ran and ket Jack cup their foot, giving them lift as they launched across the battlefield.
Y/N landed harshly on the upside of the teeter-totter, punting the grail to their side of the field. Milton stood and ran after it as the Dark Knights watched in awe.
Milton ran as fast he could as the battle stopped around him. He dove and caught the grail, slamming it down onto their pedestal.
"Victory!" Milton shouted
Y/N cheered, "Yes!"
Jack ran to Y/N, picking them up in a hug. When he set them down, they looked into an each other's eyes for a moment. It was like the world was quiet and nothing else mattered. Until Jerry joined their hug.
"Whoo!" Jerry shouted, "We did it!"
"Oh! Come on!" Sidney complained
As the Dark Knights dispersed, Jack, Jerry, and Y/N joined their friends by the pedestal.
"Way to go, Milton!" Jack praised, "You did it!"
"No, Jack! We did it!" Milton insisted!
Kim smiled, "Here you go, Milton. Here's your grail, you've earned-"
She screamed as she saw her hair in the reflection of the grail. Kim looked ready to cry.
"My hair,"She squeaked,"What happened to my hair? Eddie?"
Eddie laughed nervously.
"You are so dead!" Kim promised
Eddie screamed as he took off sprinting, Kim hot on his tail. Y/N laughed, leaning into Jack's shoulder.
"Oh, she's going to kick his butt," Y/N chuckled
Later that day, after Milton's orthodontist appointment, the group went to the dojo. Where Y/N was already steaming and mending their costumes. None of them hadn't seen them yet.
"Thanks a lot guys," Milton complimented, "I know you were embarrassed by those costumes. But don't worry, you'll never have to wear them again."
Y/N frowned, they had worked hard on those.
"And no one at school will ever have to know!" Milton insisted
Jack caught sight of Y/N, "You're right, Milton. They don't, but they will."
The following Monday, Jack, Jerry, Eddie, and Kim all wore their newly mended costumes with no fight. Partly to make Y/N feel better about thinking they were embarrassed to wear them. And partly, to just support their friends.
They got laughed at, and Jack officially lost any hot dates he'd been working towards. But, at the very least, he thought it was worth it to make Y/N and Milton happy.

Update!
Hi everyone!
I am so so so sorry for my absence! I've been very occupied. I do theater and I've been in overlapping shows since June so that's been my main focus. I found out in August that I would not be able to attend my dream college this year, so I was also recovering from that. And I had to find a new job because I wasn't getting scheduled enough to save the money I needed to.
I did find a new job and I've finally settled in, this coming week will be my last week of training and I'm very excited! But most of all I am finally giving myself a well deserved break from back-to-back and overlapping shows. Which means that I will have so much more time to write. Which really makes me happy.
Writing really is a passion of mine, but I had to level out my priorities for a little while. All so that I could decide what I really wanted. I am still going to attend my dream school next year. I am still going to be playing Dungeons and Dragons weekly. And I am absolutely allowing myself more time to write.
With all of that being said, I am reopening my requests through the 17th of December. So feel free to request and I will get all of them out as soon as I can!
And I am still working on previous requests that I haven't gotten to yet (sorry, I know they were requested a loooong time ago).
I hope you all have a beautiful day!
