all the weirdos in the notes on this post  look extremely stupid trying to school a trans woman on the topic of hrt and  self-medicating with hormones considering the fact that once someone takes hormones   home  with them from a conventional pharmacy, they are the ones administering  it to themself anyway... hormones are hormones regardless of whether we get them at at pharmacy with a prescription from an endocrinologist or ordered it online. in the united states and other countries where hospital and health insurance systems make the acquisition of proper trans healthcare almost impossible, it is more dangerous not to tell people that medications like estradiol are available online without a prescription.

also estrogen  is not a controlled substance like testosterone is, stop reporting the op for posting a resource that will, no doubt, end up saving the lives and mental health of transfeminine people.

For gods sake people, please don’t randomly take medication without seeing a doctor first! I was on birth control and the increase in estrogen just from that almost fucking killed me via blood clots in the lungs. If I had gotten to the hospital just an hour or two later I would be dead.

Do whatever you want with your body to make you happy to live in it, but please make sure you check with a doctor first. You may have risk factors you never considered and can’t be determined without blood tests and professional opinions.

A lot of people who like the ad are framing it as ”How can you dislike this? It’s anti-rape, etc”. Which is… that’s not why people dislike it.

People hate it because it starts off shitting on men. If you want to make a positive commercial, about social change or whatever tf, you dont need to shit on people first. It starts at the negative and builds as opposed to 99% of other commercials that start at neutral or positive and build.

Its like a parent that verbal abuses you for ten minutes and after they smile and say, ”But i love you. You could do so great!”

I also think its ironic that whenever ‘men’ are upset by something there are always people saying that their egos are fragile, how weak and pathetic they are, or that they are acting irrationally. Why is it that when ‘men’ complain about something being harmful to them its acceptable to just laugh and hurl insults at them? It showed a “good man” should actively try to be counter to what the ad portrays as mainstream masculinity. Remember that scene where the dad drags his son through the crowd of men going in one direction? Which implies, at best, most men need to change.

A lot of people - men and women - don’t like the implication men generally condone sexual harassment or assault. Or the idea that chatting up a hot women on the street is wrong. Even a lot of the feminists defending the commercial have said “most women don’t like being talked to in that situation”. Of course, unwanted flirting is not harassment, or sexist.

Cyberbullying is not a gendered behavior. At least one woman cyberbullied a girl to death. 

And did you notice how rarely adult men were the victims of ‘toxic masculinity’? It was mostly if not exclusively women and boys. Men are either perpetrators, good men, or tacitly complicit even if they don’t do the bad things themselves. 

The idea of collective responsibility for your sex is sexist.

Women, of course, cannot be expected to stand up for themselves, they need men to protect them, a message many of the defenders people would rightly find misogynist if it wasn’t being used to demonize men.

A lot of feminists say they’re not prejudiced, but that’s because they think their prejudices are facts. If a white person said “I’m not saying all black people are bad. There’s a handful of good ones” I think most people would say the white person is racist.
