I know itâs a couple posts down in the tag now but I wanted to talk about how to âcorrectlyâ use f-list
There are a few common unspoken rules of the site, and Iâm just going to use this blogâs namesake as an example, as itâs one of my more recent profiles, and itâs extremely standard.

The first thing you might notice is the âinline.â Thatâs the big picture taking up most of the page. (For our purpose itâs unneeded, but if you want to learn how to use them, go here.) As this is a character driven profile, and I primarily use f-chat to RP, this can mostly be ignored, along with all of the other visual flares. In fact, if youâre just making a generic f-list to show your kinks, there are a lot of steps you can skip. But thereâs a lot of nuance and preference to how you make a profile. I prefer streamlined and simple, standard profiles with a lot of visual appeal. My s/o likes to write detailed, wordy profiles where any information that you could possibly want about the character can be found. He also tends to do a lot more coding than I do on his profiles.
None of that is important for our purposes! Letâs talk about the kinks!
You do not have to fill out every kink on your profile.
Keep the kinks relevant. If you donât care about a kink donât list it. Or if you donât like vore, for example, just put Vore (Predator) and Vore (Prey) in your no list, and donât bother with all the other Vore related kinks. We can infer you donât want to play out Digestion, Absorption, Cock Vore, etc, if you already have the previous kinks in your no list.
If youâre a human character only looking to play with other humans, you probably donât need to bother with a lot of the anthro related kinks. (Almost the entire species category can be skipped, for example.)
Keep it relevant to what you want to play. Donât bother with things that will never come up. It just ends up being a bunch of useless crap to read through.
Take advantage of the âCustom Kinks.â Youâll notice on the provided profile, that some kinks are bolded and have a red and white circle next to them instead of the standard blue arrow. These are kinks that I wrote myself. You should write them too! If there are things not listed in the kink list, or something you want to mention about your RPs, or just a kink you really like and want to expand on, write it as a custom kink! Itâs very easy to navigate and improves your profile so much. I also suggest going into the âSettingsâ tab and checking off the box âcustom kinks sort firstâ to list the custom kinks at the top of the list, otherwise they will mix in with the rest in alphabetical order.
If youâd like to try and figure out the subfetish editor, Feel free to try that out. Itâs helpful to streamline your profile.You can see that I used it on this profile. It allows you to expand/collapse custom kinks into smaller related kinks by pressing the little (+) signs next to the kink. But thatâs a whole other barrel of fish I wonât get into, and generally, is unneeded.
Lastly, whether youâre making an f-list for a specific character or just for yourself, two things you can do to make your profile more appealing is put something in the body of a profile (it can be a short list of the types of RP youâre looking for, a brief description (donât use any real life info, as per the sites rules) and, lastly, try to upload an icon. It can be as simple as you like, but any square image bigger than 100x100 and smaller than 300x300 will work. I like to use icons with an alpha channel because it makes my profiles look more polished.
I also would like to mention that f-list isnât the most PC of sites out there, and a lot of language is used on profiles and hardcoded into the system that I suspect many people will not appreciate it. Try to keep in mind what youâre getting into before delving too deep, youâre expected to have a thicker skin here than you are on most sites.
