I find that, when writing bios, it’s really helpful to look at a list or a chart like the one above. Picking two or three traits from each chart and building a character based around them will give you a really interesting bio, because they will serve as a reminder that characters need depth and dimension.

Independent and clever.

VS.

Independent, clever, pretentious, and stubborn.

The first combination doesn’t come with any flaws, whereas the second will provide a more dynamic character.

Describing the physical attributes of your characters

I’m aware that not many roleplayers pay too much attention to their character’s appearance. This a real shame because in way, we don’t let our characters see other character’s physical appearance for themselves. We do it ourselves. We know how their character looks like thanks to their face claim. But I think it would be very interesting to let our characters react to the physical appearance of other characters. Here are some links you guys can look through if you want to give it a shot.

Return of the Costa Rica Playerbase

Earlier this summer, about half of our playerbase had to opt out for a month due to storms in Costa Rica making using electrical devices dangerous. Thankfully the storms have dissipated sooner than expected and they are back as of now, instead of the end of July/early August as anticipated. Welcome back guys!

Hedge Magic

Hedge magic is now available to kine and ghoul PCs! While not as powerful as Disciplines or Thaumaturgy, it has a wide variety of uses that adds a bit more flavor to play for any character who has a deep interest in the occult.

Clan Openings

All clans are playable except for Brujah at the moment due to us having an influx of Brujah. This means that making a Tremere PC is once again an option!

We will be working to make sure the clans stay as steady as possible in numbers. Each clan has a cap of 4 PCs [not including ST PCs]. If we get a major influx of players, we can bump that up to 5.

In that order. Tremere have two slots open and Malkavians & Toreador have one more slot open. Keep in mind that Caitiffs are still playable! As well as kine and ghouls.

The second edition of the Saint Burleaux Scripture has been released!

Mysterious Disappearances - Three women have gone missing over the span of seven days, each reported to have been last seen heading out of town by themselves. Extra details are being kept withheld for the time being, but no bodies have been confirmed to have been found as of yet. Each of the women was last seen leaving the west side of town. The women are as follows;

Mass Bird Death - Reports of birds dropping out of the sky and suddenly keeling over have come from all around the Saint Burleaux area, affecting everything from crows to chickens. The local hospital advises that those who keep fowl prepare themselves for another spread of the H2N2 virus that has been sweeping the Midwest, despite the fact it apparently hasn’t been found in any of the dead birds around here thus far. Citizens are advised to report any dead birds to the local wildlife agency for collection and are not to be handled themselves.

Strange Blooms Appear Overnight - Almost overnight, the Saint Francis of Assisi parkway was packed to the brim with a choking amount of flora, making mere navigation both tricky and dangerous due to the massive amount of crushed petals creating slick walkways. Police suspect a group of what they are calling mild pranksters, or perhaps even eco-terrorists despite the fact this reporter could not find any stray or strange growth that was not already native to the area. The park caretakers have reported that any attempt to sheer the plant life back is met with total regrowth by the next day. 

Trouble in the Bayou - The swamplands to the south of the city still seem to be going through trouble, as late last night a fire was reported breaking out along the river ridge and destroying anywhere between 80 and 100 acres of protected marshland. Police suspect no intentional foul play, as no accelerators were found at the scene, however the extensive damage has made law enforcement reluctant to pin this on a simple accident just yet.

Storyteller ‘Vacation’.

Anya will likely not be on much during July due to Costa Rica getting volcanic eruption warnings. During this time, the Costa Rican players will likely not be on much as well, since they aren’t supposed to be using electronics during certain periods.

The first draft of the local paper, the Saint Burleaux Scripture, has arrived! 

Swamp Attack! - The details of this harrowing tale include the findings of two bodies near the edges of the bayou, torn up as if a combination of alligators and large cats had ravaged the body. A third man involved in the incident reported it to police, however due to his own injuries and dehydration, he was too delirious to make mention of more than hideous cat people. 

Hacked! - Seems that the cyber cafe has been the target of a ‘cyber terrorist attack’ and all the computers have been rendered dysfunctional until they are repaired. 

Malaria Outbreak - A recent rash of malaria has overtaken at least nine and hospitalized five, leading to the hospital staff handing out flyers about safety with mosquitoes and infectious diseases.

The ST’s are striving that the Court positions will [hopefully] eventually be filled out by players. Right now your characters may hear rumours of the need for a replacement Sheriff, as well as the hiring of Deputies, and the oft loathed but needed position of Harpy.
