Lakeside Problems ✘ Marco & Armin
The view of the lake was too breathtaking to ignore. Rather, Armin was too entranced by the view to pay attention to his visual surroundings. The soothing sounds of the ocean had been enough to calm him on a careful stroll down the sandy shore. Shifts in the tide occasionally greeted the blond by surprise, splashing ice-cold water near his ankles. Contact from the cold water made him shiver every now and then, but that hardly mattered; he was more than able of taking a few hits from the splashes.
"I didn’t mean to startle you. Please forgive me," he said, dipping his head in apology once more. The last time he checked, Armin could not recall any figure in the distance. Then again, his focus was off, and his last check was at least a half of a mile back. As he lifted his head back up, he felt the beginnings of flustered heat as it formed a pink tint upon his pale skin. This had to be an embarrassing situation; there was no doubt about that. Armin could only hope his actions did not disturb the other visitor.
Blinking a few times, his attention shifted toward the digital camera that rested within the hands of the stranger. It took Armin a few moments, but once he figured it out, everything had made sense. Glancing out at the aligned boat and back to the freckled male’s camera, he could only infer that he somehow interrupted a potentially important shot. As he exhaled lightly, Armin then returned his focus back to the conversation. “Did I interrupt something?” With his worries now put out, he only hoped his lapse of attention was nothing too severe.
"Oh, no. Not really." Marco was quick to recover and shrug off any of the slight annoyance at missing the shot he was lining up. He glanced back at the lake and a smile crooked his lips as he watched the figures on the fishing boat hauling nets and such, not so visible at this distance were their features but he could see bare arms where sleeves were pushed up and woollen hats pulled down over hair. It looked like hard work but he guessed rewarding seeing as they got to be out on the water and open air. It wouldn't take long anyway to line up another shot and it wasn't like he was here professionally anyway.
"It's a beautiful view isn't it," he stated as he glanced back at the blond boy who'd bumped him and stuck out a hand as he was so used to greeting anyone and everyone in his line of work. Marco really wasn't one for shyness. "I'm Marco by the way."
He was still holding his camera and taking it in one hand he turned it off for a minute to save the battery. As he'd done so Marco noticed that the other's feet were wet and he chuckled lightly, turning his brightness on him. "You're brave," he commented, "I don't think I'd be paddling in there. At least not until the summer! A bit too cold for me!"
I had a bit of free time so I drew Marco for my part of an art trade with rainbowd00dles!!!! I know you wanted him in the original outfit, so if you want I will make a new picture!!
Sleepy Head
Kajika couldn’t help but chuckle at her friend’s nonchalant dismissal of the bed covers she had inadvertently messed up but she supposed that what the hospital staff weren’t aware of wouldn’t hurt them. Allowing Marco to loop his arm through hers, they made a casual get-away from the scene of the crime and as she suspected no one was any the wiser.
Once outside, the young heiress took a deep breath of the fresh air and took great pleasure in the non-medicinal and non-clinical smell that filled her nostrils. Unlike some people, Kajika did not have an overly intense aversion to the lingering smell in hospitals but it did tend to become too much after long periods of exposure. Besides, she had always been more of an outdoor person.
Still connected to Marco by the arm, she let him direct her to where he had parked his car. It was rather nice to walk side by side for a change instead of employing her usual ‘skip ahead’ tactics. Even if she had wanted to go on ahead, the young heiress would have been at a complete loss of where to look for his car since she had arrived at the hospital on foot.
"So how’s job hunting going?"
Gracing her companion with a broad grin, she eagerly told him of her job hunting experiences thus far. Her favourite experiences, the mistakes she had made, the difficulties she had encountered. It made for a rather interesting story even if she had yet to find a permanent place. There was no harm in checking out all her options before making her final decision right?

"Guess not, but I just figured it must have been something pressing for you to come by when I was working, especially to stick around long enough to fall asleep when I was busy." Marco nudged her shoulder playfully and took a diagonal across the car park, heading between the cars there and towards his own,
He unlooped his arm from Kajika's and pulled up the flap on his messenger bag to retrieve his keys, fitting it into the lock and pulling the handle to open it for the girl when he had before moving round to do the same on the driver's side. He had to fold himself slightly as he climbed in, the smaller than average car not being really designed for tall guys, but he never complained and shot daggers at people who questioned him on his choice of vehicle given his height.
"So," he asked her as he turned to toss his bag onto the back seats and buckled his seat belt, "where are we going? I'll be honest and say I'm starving and haven't the slightest inclination to cook and don't have that much food in the apartment anyhow before I go to the shops, so I wouldn't say no to going for something to eat if you want to come with? Maybe Ramen?"
Starting the car and Marco put it in reverse, checking the mirror carefully (he didn't want a repeat of an incident a few weeks before when he'd almost hit someone) and backed out of the parking space, putting the car in first gear and heading out onto the road that looped round the hospital and out.
Long day at the office [Open]
Gakupo laughed a little at Marco’s comment. “Yeah I’ve heard of Starbucks, but that all sounds ridiculous if you ask me.”
He smiled back slightly as he waited in line, a little surprised since Marco so far seemed mostly sensible. “No card games at all huh? Not even the non-competitive ones? They’re handy time killers.” For a moment his faint smile turned into a quick smirk. “Ohhh? I didn’t have you down as the daring type. Care to spill the beans?” He was beginning to think the conversation was taking an interesting turn as he reached the edge of the counter, waiting his turn. “I’ve got to admit though, it’s been a while since I’ve done anything like that myself. I have less time for fun and games these days, outside of work I mean, but that’s not the same anyway.”
He nodded, making a mental note of the direction Marco had walked off to, before placing his order. As soon as he was done ordering his hot drink, he wandered over to the small table. Slumping down in his seat, he slung his coat over the back of his chair, his mind briefly returning to the reason he’d ended up in a small hospital cafe, sat opposite a doctor. “I have to admit I’m a little jealous. I personally just get around on the trains in the city, but damn even I can see you’ve got good taste in cars. Not that I saw much of it walking past, of course.” He grinned sheepishly, hoping the drinks wouldn’t take too long.
"Like Mini's huh?" Marco beamed at Gakupo and had to quickly remind himself to be cool and not launch into a big discussion of how much of a geek he actually was about his car. Which he so definitely was. "Yeah, I'm not gonna deny it, she really is my pride and joy."
The freckled doctor looked up and nodded in thanks as two drinks were placed down on the table before them and reached for his own, wrapping his fingers around the mug and bringing it to his lips to blow on a little before taking a sip.
"If you're done here I could give you a lift home after the drinks?" he offered with a shrug, "probably the least I could do after nearly hitting you with it if you wanted a closer look."
Marco was one of those people who'd make offers like that to complete strangers and never see the harm in it. his friends often chastised him for being naive and not looking after his own safety enough.
'What if you get mugged?!'
'What if you get raped?!'
'What if they're a serial killer?!'
He usually rolled his eyes and chuckled, trusting his own judgement seeing as it hadn't failed him in life yet and casually ignored their dire warnings.

▬ ♣ Frequent Visitor ❦ Enma & Marco
{ ❦ } He was so close, but in all his feeble attempts to escape were halted by the intern. Seeing as he was already caught, there wasn’t really any point in fighting now, so in response he just sighed, and followed the older man into the room. The red-head would automatically take a seat, being used to this routine.
"…I fell down the stairs at school." Enma responded back nonchalantly, followed by a shrug. Well, that time he was pushed by accident and before he knew it, he was already on the floor. Of course, he simply walked home, and once he got there his Grandmother saw, overreacted, and here he was once again.
"There’s nothing that unusual about that." He fell down the stairs every other day, so he was quite used to it. His skull was always pretty hard anyway. Truly, he did felt as if it wasn’t much of a problem…The only problem with him was his unnatural feelings about hospitals. He had made an agreement with himself that he probably wouldn’t ever come here by choice, seeing as his not-so-great history with it.
"…Sorry to bother you, Marco-san." He continued another sigh leaving his own body. "…I’ll try to be more careful next time."
Marco was careful as he cleaned out the small wound, wiping gently with the cotton wool soaked in alcohol and apologising for any pain he was causing. He spread some clear gel over to numb the site before wiping excess away and picking up a small strip wrapped in sterile packing, peeling the cellophane back and taking out a strip of adhesive stitches with his tweezers.
"You're not bothering me Enma," he said quietly as he concentrated, sticking one end to the top of the cut and with his free hand manipulating the two sides of skin together before pulling the strip over the join and making sure it was neat. "I'm just doing my job, I'm much more concerned that you're almost an adult now and still having these little accidents." He finished, placing a pad of gauze over the top and taping it in place before peeling of his gloves and dropping them into the silver kidney bowl along with the other dirty things to take away.
Sitting next to Enma now and he smiled at him, a beat of silence before he spoke. "Everything okay? I mean, with school and friends? Do you play sports much?" He was digging to find out if there was anything underlying his accidents other than inattention to what he was doing. Maybe some inner ear imbalance? Of course Marco's training would kick in. He also just wanted to make sure he was happy enough too though, he'd grown up a lot since Marco had first met him as a shy ten year old.
Shopping isn't his forte
Connie sighed. “Well that sounds boring.” He took another sip of his espresso before grabbing another handful of popcorn. “I’d much rather watch a movie, probably cheaper than going to a charity event. Although I’m pretty sure I would never have the patience to even go in the first place.” He chuckled. “I don’t think people that go to those types of events would approve of me.”
He paused. “I have an accent?” Asked Connie dramatically putting a hand over his heart. “I’ve always wanted to have an accent.” He joked. “I’m from Munich, in Germany.” He grabbed another handful of popcorn.
He took a long look at Marco, now curious about where the freckled boy was from. “How about you freckles?” Asked Connie. “No, wait! Let me guess!” He exclaimed. He stared at Marco’s face. “Spanish? No, probably not. Italian? Eh, I don’t see it. Wait, are you even European?” He exclaimed. “Well, I’ll assume you are. You have an accent that seems…” He trailed off, trying to place a country to Marco’s accent. “French? No, it’s kind of a different accent. What’s that country that’s close to France?” He thought out loud. “I think it’s something with a B?”
"German, that's cool." Marco smiled at Connie over the rim of his mug and chuckled as the bald kid started his guessing game. Raising his eyebrows when he seemed to get there and he put the mug down with a lop-sided smile.
"Belgium, yeah," he nodded in affirmation, "not many people actually get that." Most guessed French though admittedly his accent was a bit messed up. Seeing as he spoke French, German, Flemish and English. "It's actually quite useful though was in Belgum we have lots of languages. It means I have less trouble communicating. He chuckled lightly, "though perhaps Japanese would be useful living in Prava too? I can't believe how many people here are from Japan!"
Marco was feeling rather comfortable with Connie considering they'd just met. He was a nice kid, friendly and he considered himself a good judge of character.
"So what brings you to move countries?" he asked lightly and with an open smile, "I mean, I know I came to study, same for you?"
For those waiting on replies I'm going to try to get them out today, if you don't see yours feel free to remind me because I don't want to miss people. Also if anyone was plotting and we don't have a thread yet let me know too and I'll happily put the starter up if you're still interested. I have opens already if anyone wants to jump in.
Sorry for being a bad rper, hopefully things here will calm down soon. Thank you for being patient with me xxx
1:What does their bedroom look like?
Marco’s bedroom is fairly average, nothing special. He has a King sized bed because he likes to sprawl, night-stands on either side and a bookshelf covering one wall, filled with not only books but manga, collectables and other bits and pieces. It’a all really neatly organised though, not messy.
He has some posters up, not student style though with blu-tac but in poster frames. There’s classic film posters (Alfred Hitchcock and a big Back to the Future one) and one piece of fan-art he had commissioned that fills one entire wall.
His floors are light wood and the visible walls are plain cream paint and he has a picture window that faces out of the city and towards the lake.

My muse tells yours about a sexual dream they had
"Umm…can I ask you something?" Marco glanced over at the other who was currently changing his shirt next to his locker and looked back at his own again, taking out his bag to go and sit to put his high tops back on. He’d been distracted the whole while they’d been playing and whilst Mitobe was the better player Marco didn’t usually go down so easily as that. He’d been really off his game today.
"See…I kind of had a…weird…dream last night and I don’t know what to do about it." He scratched at the back of his head, staring down at his now trainer clad feet. "There was this guy I’ve met and I swear I haven’t been thinking about him like that! But…well stuff kind of happened and now…” The freckled man shrugged and felt his cheeks heating up. He hadn’t been able to get the other out of his head all day and he needed to talk about it with someone and get their advice before his head burst.
"Do it."
My muse kisses yours for the first time
"How on Earth did you think you were going to carry all of that?" Marco looked amused when he pulled up at the kerb where Kajika had told him to come get her from and got out of the car to come round to help. She had so many bags that it was little surprise that she’d now been able to carry them all home without her arms hurting. that she’d called him to come and get her was also little surprise to the freckled guy either seeing as he was fast becoming her port of call it looked like.
He opened the back door (there was no way whatsoever they were going to fit in the tiny boot of his classic mini. No point trying!) and piled them on the seats before opening the passenger side door for her too. “Come on, I’ll get you back.”
He went around and got in the driver’s side and pulled away again.
A short while later and they were outside her apartment complex, pulling into a parking space and Marco went to help Kajika with her things, taking them up and chatting on the way.
"Maybe next time ask them to deliver things bac for you if you plan on buying up half the shop?" he suggested with a chuckle when he’d placed everything inside for her, "sorry I can’t stop though I have work in an hour." he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek, "later sweetie!"
"Do it." {{{ Because I have zero self control when it comes to memes. }}}
My muse slaps yours on the ass
Marco was enjoying himself at the party, beer in hand and laughing with his friends. Someone had started the dares, he couldn’t remember who by this point but already there’d been a few embarrassing moments that would likely be remembered for a while, definitely those caught on camera.
"Come on Freckles! your turn!" A loud voice called over and eyebrows wiggled in mirth.
"Fine fine," he held his free hand up in surrender and shook his head whilst laughing, "what am I gonna have to do?"
"Umm…" the stocky guy talking looked about in though then stopped, eyes settling and a grin cracking, "There. Go slap his ass!" He poined across the room.
Marco groaned and face palmed but got up with a goofy grin anyway. “Okay, hold my drink.”
He shoved it at the other and went over to get it done with, the other male’s back to him and without warning he gave him a short slap to the behind whilst passing and carried on towards the bathroom, listening to the laughter that followed.
Sleepy Head
There was a brief moment of tug and war between her and Marco, neither of them willing to relinquish the hold they had on the sheets but due to his greater strength, better leverage and the fact that she was still a bit drowsy it was an easy victory for him. Still feeling reluctant to move from her comfortable position, she merely pouted at him as he laughed lightheartedly.
Kajika couldn’t help but shudder slightly at the mentioned prospect of either a consultant or the dreaded nurse entering to find her. It wasn’t that she was scared of them per say but they certainly knew how to raise their voices when in ire and she preferred to spare her ears the agony wherever possible. The young heiress had been recruited to lend a hand before when she had accidently tripped over a bucket that the janitor had left in the hallway and spilt water everywhere, so she had little doubt about the validity of Marco’s statement.
It came to her attention then that her companion was already set to leave with his jacket on and bag over his shoulder which spurred her into motion. Swinging both her legs off the bed, she easily slipped her feet into the shoes she had abandoned at the bottom of the bed before her impromptu nap. Kajika gave once last languid stretch and then she rose to her feet, making her way to the doorway where her companion was waiting for her.
As they made their way towards the exit of the building, she had to laugh at the comment about being too old. It was true that she had come looking for him and had ended up passing out on a random bed mid-search but it wasn’t her fault that they made the beds so comfortable. Falling asleep was unavoidable in such a situation really…
"Bingo~ I wasn’t having much success in finding you since you move around so much during your shift, so I figured it would just be easier to remain in one place and have you find me."
Marco rolled his eyes and laughed that the smart comment, just glancing back at the now crumpled and definitely slept in looking bed before closing the door behind them. It didn't look like anyone'd seen him go in so he shrugged lightly and walked with Kajika, looping his arm through hers, to the end of the ward and out so they could leave the hospital. He took a right and headed across for his car over on the staff car-park.
"So how's job hunting going?" Marco asked conversationally as they walked, "I'm taking it you were having a break today seeing as you're here?" He offered the girl a lop-sided smile. "You know they're always looking for people to help out here is you're interested. I've told you I can ask for you if you wanted." Sure it wasn't glamorous, cleaning up after others, bringing the patients their meals and fluffing pillows. But it was something and anything looked better than nothing on a CV when you were applying to university.
He'd had no trouble with filling his own seeing as his parents whole-heartedly pushed him into a ton of extracurricular activities. Marco had ended up on the track team and debate team both, surprising some people that someone with half a brain could also be athletic. He was full of enigmas like that though and he wasn't bothered in the slightest what anyone thought either.
"Was there something you wanted me for by the way?" he asked when he realised he didn't know why she's sought him out, "sorry, here's me forgetting my manners."
If you're brave enough, send me "Do it."
