the relationship between horror and misogyny is intriguing and confusing to me bc the ultimate goal with some of these movies is to treat misogyny as horrifying while simultaneously. being the genre that brutalizes women and treats their reactions to the horrible things done to them as a source of horror

on the subject of jace and rhaena... absolutely delicious that she enters the conflict head on just like jace does without much thinking. they both wanted to prove themselves and in the process probably sever ties with their closest family. baela doesn't know yet rhaena was the rider but when she knows she's going to blame her. couldn't she wait? wasn't she happy with her existence? it's easy for baela to say it because she has everything and has the luxury of even rejecting corlys, but rhaena is never asked. jace on the other hand, well, the rhaenyra conundrum. obey and being undermine or rebel and undermine /her/. again he choses to rebel and to also lock her up and make her lose confidence in her councilors. but to me specifically it's so great to see jace/baela/rhaena's dynamic in the open.
