Does anyone else get those daydream desires for something you can never ever have, but for some reason your brain refuses to accept it? Instead of sorrow at the the knowledge that this deep desperation will never be sated you just think "someday."

And I'm not talking about owning a house or buying your dream dream car. I'm talking about sprouting wings and taking to the sky, feeling the wind glide through your hair and caress the feathers you'll never have. I'm talking about being able to change at will; yesterday you had horns but today you'd rather have a cat tail, so you do, because you can. But you can't. You never will. It's not in the cards for you but your brain still says, "someday."

I'll sit here and argue with myself. There is no someday, I can't have this, please stop wanting it. But still my brain says, "someday."

I get the feeling there's something I'm missing, some key I haven't found yet, because despite knowing it's impossible, for some reason I can't help but listen. I can't help but hope. And so I keep dreaming of flight, of change, of things I'll never have. Because maybe...
