It happenedduring a practice match. Hear team against Gamma’s. He always boasted a mightyera and mocked everything Beta did; although the story was not very differentfrom the other side as she well did same. But this time in the field several factorswhich differentiate a team from another showed. Capacity, strength, practice…

It wasalready middle time and Gamma’s was winning. How they had managed to score twogoals made it look easy, while just get to the other part of the field for Beta’steam was a total challenge. She couldn’t take it anymore. The female captainfell in despair and began to act in a hostile manner to who was closer. Yes,even to her team who tried to stop her without success. Yes, it was a practicematch, nothing serious, but when it came to Gamma she had to go serious. Buther actions were in vain. All of a sudden she found herself collapsed on thefloor and the sound of a scoring rang again. She couldn’t believe what was onthe scoreboard. 3-0.

She feltthe eyes of the members of her team dug around her body as if they weredaggers. And the white-haired boy only looked at her with a grin and laughed,turned his back to her and walked away.

‘What did Ido wrong? What did I have to do?’ She repeated to herself again and againtrying to find an answer to the problem that she felt she caused.

It’s difficult to do what you want and say whatyou want with complete freedom when you work for someone, for a common good.But what if you don’t want to do this? Or want to do that and do it your way?When you are in a lower position it will be very difficult to be listenedbecause it could said that your voice is almost nonexistent. But once you hear,you obey the orders of one who is superior; trust is earned, same as privileges.And your voice can be heard more and you begin to stand out from others as ifyou emanate a shine where you go and make everyone turned their head to you andmove away from your path because they feel some intimidation. And it feelsgood, because that is the way they show respect.

And there she was, getting another title, thistime as captain of the team Protocol Omega 2.0. To be a captain you should go througha long way full of extensive workouts and difficult trainings, but as youcomplete each one your level rises and gain strength at the same time. It didn’tmatter much whether or not you had the capacity to lead; just to be someone powerfulwas enough. And finally, she could see others from the top.

“Thank you, master.”

          “ A puzzle game? ”  Crinkling his nose, Minazuki stares at the broken table leg, then the table, then over to Beta.  There is a puzzled silence from Sho as well, in the back of his mind, leaving him uncertain of how to respond for quite a while.  But, eventually, something clicks into place – ironically – like a jigsaw puzzle.

It’s like them stupid cardboard things Dad gave me, with the pictures on ‘em.  Just put the pieces together to make the picture one piece instead of a bunch of pieces.  Somethin’ like that??

           “ I see … fine. ”  Sighing, he crouches down and pushes up the table again, holding it to balance on three legs.  Once he’s satisfied it won’t tip on him again, he picks up the broken table leg, and surveys the damage.  It didn’t seem too bad.  Looks like it just popped right off on its own, almost, with the clean break it made.

          With a shrug, he sets it upright, pushes it snug against the broken table top, and then releases it.   “ … There. ”

With her arms crossed, Beta decides to stay still while she watches the boy as he begins to repair the table. Dammit. Why her roommate had to be a boy? And to make things worse, he seemed to be a troublemaker. But for her, this was like a test and surrender was the equivalent of asking for a change. No, that would not happen, and so soon.

Seeing how the boy began to accommodate the table she approached to confirm that the work was a success, placing a hand on it at the same time she applied a little force to see if it endures. Beta turned to see her roommate, smiled and clapped gently a few times. "Congratulations! You did it!"Honestly, there was no reason to say that. The work wasn’t that hard, but after all that was her way of being.

And then, she dawned on one thing. Why did he break the table in first place? She had to know, or it could happen again with something more valuable. "Well, now that everything is in place could you tell me what was the need to get even with the table?”

          Well, she was most absolutely helpful.  For someone who wanted the job done, she didn’t seem to care to provide the answers very swiftly.  Quirking his mouth slightly to the left, he lets his gaze drift back to the left, over his shoulder, and he stares at the table whose leg had given out before tipping onto one corner when Sho had jumped on it earlier.  He sighs inwardly, and Sho simply snorts amusedly.  “ It isn’t funny. ”

          With a shake of his head, Minazuki turns back to address the table, and steps over to it, tucking his foot beneath the tabletop to push it back up.  Without the fourth leg, it topples as soon as he moves his foot.  “ … I don’t know how to fix it. ”  Nor does he care, because nothing outside of Sho matters to him, but …

She couldn’t believe it. Was he stupid or he just wanted to provoke her? The answer was becoming more obvious for someone who only a few minutes ago broke a furniture without any reason. She let out a small sigh and took her right hand to her cheek as she started to deny with her head. "I guess I have no choice."

Beta walked towards the boy and stopped to examine the table. In the future, this wouldn’t had happened because it would be more resistant, but there was no choice. She had to adapt to this kind of objects that for her were really obsolete. As she was going to start to repair it, she suddenly stopped. After all, she had already made it clear that he would have to fix it. "I have an idea! Why don’t you imagine that this is like a puzzle game and join the pieces that fit~?”

          To avoid the complete overall disaster that is more or less imminent in letting Sho handle the situation, Minazuki arises to control, muttering a rather quiet, “ Calm down, ” to the now subdued child before offering his blue haired roommate a rather bland, blank sort of stare.  He’s spent more time as the active personality since coming here, and he’s not certain just yet how she would react to handling Sho’s temper tantrums.  There is no reason to find out right now.

          “ And how do you propose that I do that? ”

For some reason, the sudden change in the attitude of the boy didn’t caught her attention. Did he really just ask that? Wow.That was really impudent. In another situation, she wouldn’t care since it was not her problem, but this case was different because it was partly her table. And now, literally. This was becoming frustrating because at some point it was a bit amusing and yet it bothered her, but she would not lose her calm so soon.

“And why do you ask me when you should ask that to yourself. I mean, is really simple. You broke it, you fix it.”

Before he could run away, her arm was already blocking the whole door. “Oh no. You are not going anywhere until you fix that thing.”

An invitation from a stranger { 3pinetrees }

It was a warm afternoon. The weather was perfect for a leisurely walk. That's what Beta decided to do that day, or something like that. She liked to take walks and see what kinds of things could be found and could be made in this time because everything was new to her, at least a big part of them. Yes, she was from the future but many of the customs were different, and even so, she didn’t know much of it either. Most of the time she had to train. And what about the break? No, there would be time for that. It was just a matter of waiting, and finally, she could now enjoy a peaceful life like any young of her age. Of course, without leaving the physical activity aside.

She had decided to take her ball to a park near the area. Maybe she did not have to train as hard as before, but definitely didn’t want to lose the practice; but a sweet odor made her diverted from the way and ended up in front of the door of a bakery store. Seeing all kind of products from the window made her remember that during her days as captain she used to follow a strict diet, but now she could have a little reward, right?

Several minutes later, she finally reached her destination, with the ball at her feet and holding a bag full of different kinds of treats. She decided to sit on a bench in order to enjoy her recent purchase before commencing with the planned activity. She put her hand inside the bag and grabbed a small donut. It had a pink glaze over it, and without thinking it longer she took a bite. Soft, sweet and with a slight raspberry flavor. Life had small pleasures and this was one of these. But something didn’t feel right. It was not the taste; that was perfect. She shifted her gaze from the dessert and lifted slightly, and her eyes met others who were watching her not far away. An idea crossed her mind, which resulted somewhat amusing; she swallowed and smiled. "So? Are you going to stand there with that creepy look, or will you come here and take a sit?"

It seems like good things doesn't last forever; same goes for an apartment all by herself. Oh well, this would happen soon or later. Who knows? Maybe this could be interesting.

If she would have to answer, Beta would affirm that everything is well, but the reality has another answer. She was not raised with the values that should be. At some point she learned that you can’t learn a lesson without pain, which affects when she relates with others. It is hard for her to distinguish between what is right and what is wrong, and everything gets worse when her aggressive personality appears.However, she wasn’t always like this. It was even worse. The two personalities she owns are the cause of the help she received at some point in her life to improve her attitude. Perhaps the work was not completed as expected, but it was the best that could be achieved.
