I love the humor but also that he's not hurting the little guy by putting any weight on him whatsoever
I am thinking in making #Halloween trending on Christmas day. What do you think?
Oh hell yeah let's make Halloween trend up in this bitch on Christmas day
I've not been able to stop crying for two hours, but it is tears of joy. I've waited so many years to see this news. 23 years I've waited. I cannot begin to describe what this means to the Huntington's community.
One day I'll write about what it's like to grow up knowing you might have a terminal, incurable illness, and not be allowed to test yourself because "it's such a serious decision" they don't want it hanging over you until you're an adult (as if it doesn't hang over you as you witness a parent die, and know you've got 50% chance of inheriting the same illness--as do your siblings). One day, I will talk about how, in the fear of traumatising children with the knowledge they might be incurably, terminally ill, they also took away their right to decide over their bodies to a degree that is traumatising. One day.
But today I am going to cry. Because it's over. Because no child will ever have to go through the same uncertainty, because at least they will know there is a treatment option available. A treatment option that one of my siblings might come to rely on. With all the shit things happening around us, my childhood hope and dream have been realised. That's got to count for something.
One of the most devastating diseases finally has a treatment that can slow its progression and transform lives, tearful doctors tell BBC.
This is incredible. Just absolutely incredible good news, and shocking considering how hard progressive neurological diseases are to treat at all.
It's such a terrible disease. This procedure is technically difficult and the surgery/infusion takes a long time but it is EFFECTIVE and reduced progression by 75% with surprisingly few side effects, and it's expected to be permanent.
They're looking at making it available very soon. I hope it is made affordable enough to treat everyone who has it.
*boops you gently on the nose*
i hope this september is kind to you. i hope this month gives you everything you want and more. i hope autumn is refreshing, and cool, and as the world slowly thaws into the winter months, you continue to thrive and love deeply.

Bunnies!!
NOOOOOOOOOM
Why is it always a shark that’s a villain in a fish movie. There’s so many cool and dangerous aquatic animals to choose from. Why can’t the villain be like a malicious billfish for once? Or a gang of mean mean orcas? I say this as a person who loves both of those animals by the way it’s just getting very really tiring, the shark slander
Thinking about it even more, I’m really starting to dig the idea of an orca mafia. The leader of the mafia is of course the matriarch of the family, Big Mama, who governs with an iron fin. Her and her family are inviting and so nice at first, giving you all the favours and loans in the world so you’ll get on your flippers again…. Until you can’t pay them back, of course. Imagine a group of orcas beating up a poor sea critter by smacking it out of the water with their tails, slamming it around in the water like a beach ball, that would be brutal and gruesome and SO cool. Just like a wide shot of several, tall dorsal fins silently gliding above the water surface….. 100% memorable villain material
reallllly feel like some of you have to start understanding people are sometimes going to make mistakes and not understand something and not know things and it's going to slot them in a perfect place for you to scoff and call them problematic and evil and they're not even going to know why.
not everyone is chronically online, or online at all. don't act like everyone who's ever enjoyed harry potter is a cartoon villain, when most of them barely know who jkr is and definitely don't know what she's done, or know what the actual symptoms of schizophrenia are, or understand what a neopronoun is. like, yeah, okay, you can get frustrated when people don't listen or when they willfully ignore you, but don't pretend everyone on earth is supposed to know already. my life advice.
my friend is a cishet white guy who's entire knowledge of schizophrenia was "yeah that's the thing people have in horror movies that make them kill people." he didn't even know hallucinations were involved. after meeting me, he googled it. like, while we were hanging out, he pulled out his phone, took two minutes to read up on it, and went "oh, so it's like autism, but scarier for you." i told him about neopronouns, and therians, and objectum, and a bunch of other chronically online bullshit, and he nodded along. later he messaged me with a couple questions, which i explained, and he thought it was all very cool. he has a snapchat and an instagram, both of which are exclusively for hunting and fishing friends, he didn't even know why the r slur wasn't okay to say. im not saying you have to educate everyone you meet on the street, but for the love of god, you need to recognize when someone's actually trying to hurt you and when someone is just not really sure what's going on.
As a trans woman I can confirm that they indeed found an ancient forest inside a 630ft deep sinkhole in China
cis people can reblog this but keep it on subject, please
Happy pride month everyone always remember that the sinkhole has an ecosystem large enough to house not only insects but likely several species of small birds or mammals
zohran mamdani's win in the primaries should be a lesson in the effectiveness of grassroots campaigns. even in late stage capitalism he beat out a man that had establishment democrats rushing to fund him. mamdani was able to pull out the win by appealing to the needs of new yorkers and also not backing down from questions. he was confident in himself and his policies, which is what we needed from the democratic party. I'm not a political analyst but i can tell you that the mamdani campaign is one the most effective grassroots campaigns I have seen. i hope my fellow young voters will see this as a hopeful beacon for things to come
jokes to make after failure that aren’t self-deprecating:
I’m the best to ever do it
Nobody saw that (best if said loudly)
No one’s ever done it like me
I could be President/they should make me President
Behold, a mere fraction of my power!
The public wants to be me soooooo bad
I’m an expert in (thing you just failed at)
How could this have happened to god’s favorite princess?
Nothing ibuprofen and a glass of water cant fix
I’m being sabotaged
Hey leftists I'm gonna talk real to you really quickly, but Zohran Mamdani winning is the momentum a lot of us have been waiting for.
Liberals are already using this to call out the Establishment Democrats, and express that the future is going to going more left, more progressive, and theyre already excited to keep this up.
Yeah, I get it, Zohran isn't exactly a huge communist or anything, but he's something different that is inspiring the population to accept changes and accept someone who isnt apart of the Democratic Establishment they've known for so long.
This is the momentum we needed, and now is our chance to keep pushing. Zohran Mamdani has proven that grassroots work even against multi-million dollar smear campaigns- let's get out there. Whether you hold seminars, feed people, or are apart of your local DSA, it's time to use this momentum to keep encouraging change, because people are ready for it. A better future is possible.
ABSOLUTELY ELATED RNIGHT NOW
The city with the largest Jewish population outside of occupied Palestine just decided their choice Democrat was in favor of Palestinian liberation.
And they've elected a Muslim less than a quarter century after 9/11.
Progress is not only possible, but it's fucking tangible.
