going out with saiki k to get coffee jelly ^_^?
Hey! Thanks for requesting. And thank you to the lovely @ink-perfect for getting my name out there. This is my first time writing a oneshot for Saiki.
........Honestly I’m not too pleased with this one. The writing feels pretty stiff. I hope It’s alright, but if not, let me know and I can edit or redo it. I might anyway. I hope your new year is going well so far :)
I am also SO SO sorry it took me SO long.
AN : GN, Platonic, () used as a name placeholder.
CW : Maybe a curse word here and there, but that’s it.
Italics are Saiki’s thoughts.
Saiki sensed ()’s approach far before their hand could meet the door, and happily took the following knock as an excuse to escape the noise of his parents, and rose in order to be graced with one of the only people he would say was pleasant company.
When was he ever NOT ready for coffee jelly? One of the few pure, unspoiled pleasures in his disastrous life. A reliant joy in his revolving world of chaos and misery. What HADN’T been a constant until recently, however, was the company of (). When () had transferred to his class in the middle of the semester, Saiki had less than pleased. His displeasure, however, was soon the blessedly reserved () had proven actually pleasant to converse with, and found himself gravitating towards them in times of need or boredom. So most of the school day. Maybe he would admit (only to the bottom of the sea or someother unreachable habitat) that didn’t hate Nedou and Kaido or Toristska or Meada or any of the others as MUCH as he would have liked to think. But () was an outlier in that they were probably the only one he would call an actual close friend.
A gentle nudge poked him out of his reminicent reverie, his friend silently calling his attenetion to a familar horrendus haircut and mop of shaggy blue- white locks.
He was already formulating his escape route. He figured knocking out () and teleporting was always an option. That seemed a little extreme for the moment, though he didn’t deny it was a solid plan B.
What did I ever do to deserve this? Is it too much to ask for a few hours alone with the one tolerable person on this planet? The universe must’ve reaaaaally had something against me in a past life in order to execute such as cruel revenge as this. All this power, and yet a simple trip for coffee jelly is out of my reach. Allright, I guess I have a few options. Maybe if we -
() forced an intermission upon Saikis seething inner monolouge, and grabbed his hand, pulling their friend around the corner of the block and sprinting down the street. He didn’t even question it at this point. He ran as if being pursued by a centipede; which would have possibly been the only thing worse than having Nendou and Kaido crash his and ()’s peaceful afternoon.
Surely the cosmos had score to settle with them, because they were next met around the corner by a certain purple haired medium.
Invisability wont work.......Toritska can see ghosts. I would expose myself using teleportation NOW.......damn it. Plan B.
"......Saiki.....can we maybe turn. I dont really feel like dealing with Tor-" their words bumped into Saiki’s back at the same tim () did; their pink haired friend put a finger to his lips, guiding them right past Toristska. Strange. Not that they were complaining persay.
Saiki could have forgiven all the wrongs the universe had committed against him at that moment; for the pair had at long last arrived at their destination. The destination of all destinations. The destination that held the key to serenity. To the meaning of life.
() saw the look on Saiki’s face. The look. A rare trace of wonder gracing her stoic friend’s features. They bumped his shoulder lightly to remind him he was allowed to actually enter, and they took their usual booth by the back window. There were hardly any customers, but that suprised neither introvert, for they would without hesitation admit that they always came between 10:30 and 11:45; the lull before the lunch rush.
The only thing that changed from their usual routine was the sheer amount of coffee jelly the pair obliterated. If it had been a good week at work for () or Saiki’s parents were feeling generous, it was 2 or 3 each. But today
Allright universe. Maybe you’re not so bad.
() looked at him, features showcasing a rare smile. Honestly, seeing Saiki so happy made () happy as well. They didn’t always quite understand their peculiar pink haired friend, but nevertheless, enjoyed his odd company.
Saiki wasn’t sure exactly how () managed to put up with his antics. He may not have recognized many amiable emotions within himself; save for an uncharacteristic gratefulness that they did.
