Travel Thailand Vlog 2018 #85 - So our 2018 backpacking thailand trip has brought us into Cambodia. I have never been backpacking in Cambodia before but am very excited to see all the amazing things Siem Reap has to offer. We are so excited to see Ankor Wat and the famous pub street! Our trip started with a pretty interesting time in the airport, but after a few hours of delays we were up and running on Thai Smile for a smooth flight into Siem Reap Cambodia. We always look for cheap hotel while backpacking southeast asia and came across an amazing hotel called Salasara, find the link below. It was a cheap hotel that had some amazing positve vibes and we would for sure recommend it. Some travel tips while backpacking in Southeast Asia is to check out all the main website for the lowest possibe price. I will include the links below to help you find the cheapest hotel deals. The day was filled with exploring around the city of Siem Reap and finding hidden gems like an amazing vegan cafe called Vibe. I was shocked to find Vegan food in Cambodia and it was amazing! After exploring and having some small adventures in the Cambodian markets the jet lag finally hit us and we decided to get a cheap massage and then our bodies gave out hahah. Thanks for watching and always reach out if you have any questions or want some travel tips while backpacking Thailand, Cambodia, China or any place in Southeast Asia. Let us be your travel thailand guide :)

Travel Thailand Vlog 2018 #84 - It's that time again to go backpacking southeast asia. This time we are off to travel Thailand, Cambodia and China. Our first stop on this amazing travel adventure is China for a one day layover in Shanghai. There are many things you can do in this beautiful city and here is a list fo the top things we found to do on your 15 hour china Shanghai layover. We are so stoked for being able to travel southeast asia again and are always so grateful to be able to make a travel blog to share with all of you.
China has a free 72 hour transit visa for flight layovers in major Chinese cities. We had 15 hours starting in Shanghai Pudong Airport. Here is a travel guide to visiting Shangai's top attractions and making the most of your short layover tour.
We started the day at 7:30
7:30 Pass the immigration, take your baggage, and store the unused things in the airport, then leave PVG with the highest speed maglev train in this world (268 mi /Hour, total 7 minutes 20.5 Mile) to Downtown.
7:45 – 8:00 Take Metro Line 2, from Longyang Road to Lujiazui, the CBD center in Shanghai.
8:00 – 11:00 During this 3 hours, you can feel the modern side in this city. Visit the highest skyline “Shanghai Center” (2,073.5 Feet) or Shanghai World Financial Center with glass ground in the top (1,614 Feet) .
11:30 – 13:30 Then take the “Hop-on Hop-off” Sightseeing Bus to Puxi side (West of River). Puxi is old Shanghai area, your first station is Yu Garden which the history more than 400 years. Traveling to Costa Rica Day 1 in Montezuma Beach - Daily Vlog #81 | Today was our first day traveling to Costa Rica and to be honest I would have never thought we would travel to Costa Rica because we always spend our time backpacking southeast asia. Im super stoked we decided to because there is nothing like Costa Rica travel. We did encounter a rough start, but when traveling sometimes that happens and you just have to let the positive vibes shine :) We were excited making travel blogs in a new country and showing you what Costa Rica has to offer. We did a tiny bit of research of things to do in Costa Rica and the sleepy town of Montezuma was first on our list. It's got a small beach vibe with some small surf and is a fun little adventure to get to. You start by landing in the capitol of Son Jose and then driving for about 2 hours to the port of Puntarenas. You then jump on a ferry for 1.5 hours crossing the Nicoya Golf all the way to Paquera, there you will travel by land again, passing thru Tambor, Cobano and finally Montezuma. This place is amazing and full of beautiful beaches. We can't wait to give you advice and travel tips for this beautiful country. Stay tuned and keep watching our wild travel blog for beautiful beaches and remember we are always here to answer your costa rica questions. We love traveling and hope you enjoy coming along for the ride :)

Daily Travel Vlog #80 - Our amazing backpacking adventure here in Sayulita has come to an end. The day started with some amazing yoga in Sayulita on top of a cliff under a beautiful palapa. Such a great way to start the day. We then packed up our backpacks and checked out of our Airbnb and then did some last minute shopping and then took the bus to the airport. Quick travel tip :) take the bus to get to Sayulita, it only costs around $8 instead of a $50 taxi ride. We are now off to backpack through Costa Rica. Being a travel vlogger has inspired us to share with you all the amazing places from Southeast Asia, Thailand, Bali and now through Central America. We are a travelling couple trying to spread the postive vibes and travel the world. If your looking for some travel tips, travel hacks and overall travel motivation stay tuned. We just got some tickets to head back to Thailand so we are super stoked to bring you along, but for now just keep watching as we go backpacking through costa rica. Excited for some yoga, sufing and just overall wanderlust. Thanks for watching!!!!!!! Daily Travel Vlog #78 - Today is a new day backpacking through Sayulita. Normally we are backpacking southeast asia, but now we are going through mexico and found an awesome hidden gem called Sayulita. It's a small town in the province of Nayarit and is filled with positive vibes and amazing beaches. There are some beautiful hidden beaches around and all it takes is a bit of water and some wanderlust to venture down the coast and find that perfect gem. Today we took to the beach and went exploring. If I were to give any travel tips or hacks it would be to just get out there and go for it, most often what holds us back is the fear of the unknown. Running a travel blog has really made us step out of our comfort zone and put ourselves in unforgettable situations. Sayulita is a must visit if you are anywhere near it. (Just a short ride from Puerto Vallarta). We are always here to provide you with travel tips, tricks and hacks so feel free to reach out if you have any backpacking questions. So far vlogging in Mexico has been amazing and we totally recommend it. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for a new day and new adventure!!!

A little bit about myself: I live in San Diego and love all things creative. I am a webmaster for work but do all sorts of things including design, photography and anything that involves using my hands or creativity.
My wife and I are avid rock climbers and love go to on adventures in our 88 Vanagon. We traveled to last year all around Mexico, China, Bali, Hawaii and throughout California and Neveda. I am hoping that 2016 will bring more excitement and more travels, so be sure to subscribe :)

Daily Vlog #76 - Mexico Vlog day 2 - What to do in Sayulita - Today is our second day backpacking mexico in this beautifl town of Sayulita. We have decided to do one of the popular sayulita day tours by going to Marietas Islands. We booked a all inclusive tour with a boat called la chica loca. There are many types of day trips you can do in Mexico and this one included visiting the Marietas Islands combined with snorkeling, stand up paddleboarding and just a fun day at sea with all access to all the amazing boat amenities. We had a super fun day at sea and def recommend doing the tour if your down in Sayulita. It is very different than our normal trips backpacking southeast asia but we are having a blast. We also got to do a little whale watching, well maybe it even got to close, phew those wales smell ;) After a day of having fun visiting some amazing mexico beaches it was time to return home, well our AirBnB home ;) and then we finished it off with an amazing sunset at beautiful Sayulita beach. Thanks for watching and all the support and we are happy to bring you along on our adventures!!!

Daily Vlog #74 - Bali Vlog day 7 - Another day in paradise backpacking Bali. There are so many asian countries to see when backpacking southeast asia, but Bali is one of my favorites. Today we are exploring a completely new island that I have never been to before called Nusa Lembongan. When you travel in Bali it's so easy to get around and there are budget accomodations and hotels everywhere but last night the one we chose lost power hahahh so we decided to move on and check out a amazing beach called dream beach. I know now why it has that name, because it is set in the most picturesque locations. Island hopping in Bali is a must and if I were going to give any Bali travel tips it would be to come here to dream beach in Nusa Lembongan and stay in the Dream Beach huts. There are so many amazing beaches in Bali but this one is one of my favorites, and it's so easy to rent a scooter in Bali that you have to do it and explore around. Well first you have to get on the island of Nusa Lembongan haha. After lounging around the beach and the beautiful infinity pool we finished the afternoon with an amazing yoga practice in a small little hut at the Yoga Shack Nusa Lembongan, and then went over to the cliff to check out a spot called the Devil's Tears. Its a cliffside cave that basically spits out water when the waves come in, and has the most amazing energy. Check it out! The end of the night was spent hunting mosquitos hahah in our net that was supposed to keep them out but instead made a perfect little sactuary for them all to gather hahah oh well it's all part of the journey :) and if anyone is reading down this far thanks for hanging around and I promise to start uploading more frequently. Travelling in Bali is amazing and it's been a busy busy busy time but Astrid and I are just finishing up a yoga teacher training and are super excited for our adventures to follow!!

Daily Vlog #73 - Bali Vlog day 6 - It's a new day backpacking Bali and we are of to Nusa Lembongan for some amazing bali beach vibes, yes I pronunce it completly wrong haha. We are leaving our amazing hotel in Ubud and catching a taxi ride to the water ferry at Sanur beach. It's a quick 30 min ride to a completly new experience. When you are backpacking southeast asia it's amazing how easy the transportation and commmuncation is to get around. We took some time and walked around to find a cheap hotel in Bali and we are doing the same for Nusa Lembongan. It was quite easy to find a decent accomodation at the Scooby Doo Bungalows. It's nothing fancy but you can't complain much about a place directly on the sand. After doing some scootering around the island we found an amaing spot called dream beach. I know why they name it that because it is one of the most beautiful beaches we have seen so far in Bali. There is an amazing hotel right in the heart of it called Dream Beach Huts. We booked some rooms there for tomorrow and are excited for the adventure. We always manage to find some amazing vegan food when travelling. Today we stopped at a place called Bali Eco deli and Tigerlily, if your around and you want something good to snack on give them a shot. The day ended with an epic sunset partially disrupted by a couple of friends called mosquitos hahah but the beauty of the sunset was worth it. That's one thing I strongly believe when travelling asia or traveling anywhere, is to try and see the positive things of every situtation. You will be happier more and it makes life that much more epic!! Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy this video and if you read all the way to down here I promise to be more regular on my uploads ;)

Daily Vlog #71 - Travel Bali Vlog day 4 - Let me start off by saying that Ubud is my favorite place in Bali :) When your backpacking Bali you can always create a home base and do many fun day trips. Most of the time when your travelling Southeast Asia that is the case, but especially with Bali being so small it really works out. I would say that these are some of the best things to do in Ubud. Today started off with a quick descision to do a coffee plantation tour, Tegenungan Waterfall and Tegalalang Rice Terrace tour. It was about $45 and was aranged right from our hotel with a full day of fun with everything included minus the food. The first stop we had was trying out the famous Kopi Luwak on a coffee farm. This very unqiue way of making cofee (having the animal eat and then poop out the beans) makes it a must try! We then hopped in the car and headed out to see the Tegalalang Rice Terraces. These rice terraces are amazing! and a must see if your visiting Ubud. After wandering around some beautiful bali rice terraces it was time to head up to the volcano, unfortunalty due to the rain we had to just settle for some lunch. After the rain subsidded it was time to hit the Tegenungan Waterfall. This waterfall is amazing and the power it holds is incredible. There are some easy stairs to gain access to the base and if you are looking for some waterfalls in Bali make sure to come here. You can swim behind the falls and it really makes the whole experinence very magical. After a long day of exploring Bali it was time to move into a new hotel and grab some dinner. Ubud is amazing and you'll hear me say it many times but it's just a magical place! Oh and that Bali vegan resteraunt at the end is really really really good :) I hope you guys enjoyed this video of our travels in Bali and it's now time to get started on the next vlog hahah so it's not so late :) - Bali travel guide with some useful bali travel tips.

Daily Vlog #70 - Bali Vlog day 3 - Backpacking Bali is such an amazing experience! If you are travelling southeast asia make it a point to travel to Bali and you won't be dissapointed. Today starts of with a nice and chill breakfast in Canggu. We have only spent one day here but we are ready to move on and head over to Ubud, one of our favorite places to travel in Bali. We said one last goodbye to Echo beach and got some amazing vegan food over at Peloton. A super cool beach/bicyle vibe restaurant with all the goodies including home brewed Kombucha. The taxi ride from Canguu to Ubud is just about 2-3 hours depending on traffic and costed us just about $23, not to bad if you ask me for 4 people on a 2 hour ride :) Ubud is located more in the center of Bali (not coastal) and is surrouned by rice terraces and forests. We stopped at one of our favorites places, the Ubud sacred monkey forest. It's costs just about $3 to enter but is totally worth it. The monkeys in the monkey forest are free roaming and glide through trees and accosinally jump right on to your head :) There is also large temple in the middle with many stone carvings for you to see. It is truly a magical experience and is a must for anyone passing through ubud. After the forest it was again very easy to find a vegan resteraunt, and we ended up at an amazing little places called Atman cafe. If you are looking for healthy food in Bali this is the place! Astrid has been getting coconuts throughout the trip but the ones here were just about the size of her head haha. It's been an amazing time so far and we are excited for what is to come. So enjoy and hope you like hanging with us in Bali!

Daily Vlog #69 - Bali Vlog day 2 - Traveling Bali is such and amazing experience, Vegan food in Bali, backpacking Bali, travelling bali with a family, Bali has it all. No matter if you are relaxing in a 4 start hotel or staying in a $4 a night hostel, Bali has it's own luxury for anyone. Today we started off by leaving our hotel in Seminyak. We statyed at the ping hotel as a last minute resort because we got in so late last night. It ended up being quite nice and was not a bad descision. Astrid is always in food heaven because Bali serves some of the best vegan food. So we headed off in search of some delicious vegan food and stumbled across a nice little resteraunt right on our street called Zula. It was super good and had it's own homeade Kombucha, you know we love our Kombucha. The best form of transportation in Bali is riding a motorbike or scooter. The locals drive really well compared to Thailand and it's only about $4 a day to rent. So we took a motorbike up to Canggu and decided that it was a great place to go next. So we got our bags and headed up in a pretty sweet hotel called the Kirana hotel, we got a super good deal online and ended up in a pretty nice looking sweet all to ourselves. The area we stayed in was called Echo beach. It does not compare to the beaches in Thailand, but has it's own super chill Bali Vibe. Today ended up being a complete chill day with some scooter exploring and ended with a nice little DJ concert on the beach. Not a bad first day here in Bali :)

Daily Vlog #68 - Bali Vlog day 1 - So today is finally the day we get to travel to bali, Backpacking Southeast Asia is the best!! It's an amazing feeling when you know your getting up in the morning to jump on a plane and travel to an amazing place such as Bali. We booked a real cheap plane ticket on China southern and leave San Diego by train to Lax and start our 30+ hour journey. The Amtrak is a very nice way to get to LAX from San Diego if you like to avoid the crazy traffic and just want to sit back and relax. It's only about a $9 bus ride when you get to LA, Union station is your final stop and there is a convenient bus that goes about every thirty minutes to the Airport. When we arrive at the airport Im excited to try out these new priority pass lounge access cards I got, and it's worth it. Free food, showers, drinks and a nice place to relax before your flight is worth it. Our airline is China Southern and I have to say that our plane is pretty nice, Astrid and I are short people so we fit very comfy in the seats. There are many movies that are still in the theaters over here so that was a big surprise. Because we have an extended layover China Southern proves a free hotel and breakfast buffet which is nice. I would recommend them if your traveling to Bali. We have had only good experiences, but I did read some bad ones, so I guess it all depends on what you are looking for in an airline. Bali travel tips lesson number one, always book your first hotel night so you can avoid what we had to do which is walk around Bali looking for a hotel at 3am hahaha. We ended up finding a place and am excited to start the day tomorrow exploring Bali!!! Have a great night and I'll see you mañana.

How to Vlog? This is the question I asked myself as I started out the new year. I am always looking to be more creative and I decided that this year will be the year that I start a daily vlog. So sitback and step into my daily life.
Vlogging is totally new to me, but I hope to bring you on all my travels, adventures and all around exploring.
I use a Canon 70d combined with a Canon G7X for all my Vlogs.
