What happened in Budapest?
clinton-hawkeye-barton:
//Okay you guys can ignore this, but I just wanted it written down. I think I get why they had Clint say that he and Nat remembered Budapest differently. So in the comics, The Secret Avengers, Clint and Nat join this team called The Secret Avengers. We aren’t allowed to know why they joined, just that it gave them an opportunity to deal with a certain threat. The part where he tells them what this opportunity is, is redacted.
He also tells them that in order to be a part of this team, they’ll have to get memory implants, which they are not happy about.
Anyways, their first mission is to go to duh duh duh Budapest. While they are there, Natasha is in one area while Clint is in another area with Nick Fury. Clint and Nick chase down this one target and after getting his intel, Fury shoots him. Clint is upset, but Fury tells him that the bullets heal the target too.
Then, someone comes out of nowhere and shoots Hawkeye. He tells Fury to leave him and worry about the target.
He hears the word “reverie” so he forgets where he even is and what he’s even doing, so when he gets taken by the bad guys, they can’t get him to tell them what he’s here for since he really doesn’t know. They use truth serum, a girl with powers, and some weird black squid thing. All of which were supposed to get the truth but failed.
So anyways, Black Widow shows up and she fights all the guys with guns, winning of course. And she gets herself and Clint out of there. Four hours later, and Clint is hospitalized for the injuries he sustained while Fury and (I think) Maria Hill are talking about the success of the memory implants/what they plan to do with it once they really test it on Nat and Clint. They also discuss that what Barton went through was apparently a controlled environment.
Anyways, after this, the comic shows that what Barton remembers in the end didn’t actually happen. Barton ends up remembering some guy shooting him and Fury chasing him, but in reality, Nick was the one who shot him.
In the MCU Avengers, (and ngl I’m not fond of the term MCU as Marvel Cinematic Universe because I read it as Marvel Comics Universe. It should be called the Marvel Films Universe [MFU] Because it often just screws with how the comics often work, but whatever. Ignore that.) Natasha is battling hordes of aliens alongside Clint, and in the comics, she was fighting a huge group of people while she was yet again alongside Clint.
Natasha says, “It’s like Budapest all over again.”
and Clint responds, “You and I remember Budapest very differently.”
Now, it’s possible that this was just said in the MCU to make a good joke or just be one of those things that they made up but would never clarify since it won’t live up to anyone’s expectations. Nat literally could have just referred to some time when she and Clint were in Budapest and they were flooded by troops they had to fight, and the reason that Clint said that they remembered it differently could’ve been because there were no aliens last time, which would be why’s it’s funny.
On the other hand, Clint could have literally remembered something else that Natasha did not experience because what Clint remembers didn’t happen. What we are told that Clint remembers is being shot by some guy he didn’t know and then tortured for info before Nat came in and saved his ass from all the guys with guns. What Nat probably just remembers is dealing with tons of troops to get to Hawkeye and then to fight a whole lot of people to save his ass, and she remembers all the stuff that led up to it. But even that is not necessarily true. Clint and Natasha’s minds were supposed to be wiped after each mission so they couldn’t get captured for intel or anything. It’s possible that they both could have remembered Budapest but remembered conflicting stories of what they did there. Either way, I think it’d be cool if those lines were a wink at this comic and the memory implants Nat an Clint dealt with.
I just always get so overemotional about that scene in CA:CW where Hawkeye and Black Widow are fighting, and then when he pins her, she goes “We’re still friends right. And then he FREAKING SMILES like a little kid and goes, “Depends how hard you hit me.” Like are you Kidding me?!! It let’s you see how friends are really going against friends. Honestly, this does a better job of showing this than the scene where Steve says “He’s my friend,” and Tony says, “So was I.” Like Tony and Steve were more like colleagues than friends, but Clint and Natasha? They were besties. They still ARE besties, even through this fight. And I just needed to get out how amazing it is that they managed to not let some difference of opinion get in the way of their friendship.
Do you ever have that one friend in your life who just always makes you happy, and then you get mad for some reason? And you’re just like, “No, you’re not allowed to make me smile like this. I hate you.” But they’re you’re favorite person, and you try to spend as much time with them as possible. If they ask to do something with you, you make sure you can at almost all costs, and you’re both protective of each other. If someone insults them, they’re practically insulting you and vice versa. And maybe they drive you home every day, so now if anyone else offers you a ride, your friend will always interrupt that person to tell them it’s their job to take you, not this new person. And because you spend so much time with person, you have so many inside jokes, like “butt shot”, that no one else gets. Idk, I just think that’s the best friendship people can have.

I don’t own any of these gifs and lay no claim to them. If someone wants me to remove them, I can/will. I just know that there aren’t a lot of gif hunts for Aziz, so I compiled one. Enjoy.

Give me a heartwarming Christmas movie about Satan traveling around the world every Christmas to deliver presents to all the young kids and kids with learning disorders and disabilities who misspell “Santa” on their Christmas letters every year
And Santa’s all like, “You know, I can handle a few spelling mistakes, I got this,” and Lucifer is like “They’re addressed to me, fuck off, I’m doing it.”
Lucifer being protective of his fanmail is ceaselessly entertaining.

“Start out small, so try doing things that aren’t as likely to work out, so you can see how some things don’t work out and some do if given the chance.”
sora-on-destiny-island:
“It’s possible… I mean it happened when I least expected it,” Sora said. “And I was stupid enough to believe that this guy was legitimate. I’m scared that I’ll fall for something like that again, or that I’ll be too scared to make risky choices because of that one event.”
“Perhaps you ought to take more risks in small doses in order to convince yourself then.”
