This bridge is one of 22 of the Interoceanic Highway and goes all the way to BRAZIL! 🌊⛰🏔🌿🌲🌎🌴🌳🌿🌊 It can be reached from the Pacific Coast via the curvy trails that traverse the Andes to Cusco, and down into the jungle. I travelled on it into Puerto Maldonaldo where it crosses the confluence of the Madre De Dios and Tambopata rivers, which feed the famous Amazon River. Then it follows the Amazonian border of Bolivia before crossing into Brasil. Thousands of miles deep inside the worlds largest rainforest and some smaller existing roads later and it comes out on the Atlantic coast. This incredible road was opened in 2011, is over 2600 miles long and employed over 6000 people to build it. Encontré las GUACAMAYAS!!!!!!!!!! There were more than 60 and there were Scarlet Macaws, Red and Green Macaws, Yellow and Blue Macaws and Chestnut Fronted Macaws, at the clay lick where they gather and come for breakfast, as featured on tv by David Attenborough and the BBC. When Costa Rica nearly lost its entire population of Macaws, the research centre here sent eggs to restart the population, and now Costa Rica is known for a place to see Macaws.
