BACKGROUND.
Samson Decker is the youngest son of Joseph and Lainey Decker, part of the Decker Ranch legacy, the largest horse ranch in Nevada. He has a twin sister, Sawyer, an older brother, Silas, and a younger brother, Sullivan.
Sammy has always been desperate his emotionally distant father’s approval, even more so when he was younger, causing feelings of inadequacy and shame when he wouldn't get the reaction he wanted
. Put a lot of pressure on himself to be perfect as a result, which often times would cause him to do the opposite and act out (emotionally, physically, etc).
This was compounded by him struggling with his sexuality, both coming to terms with it himself and wondering how the hell he was going to tell his father, those around them. As a result he tried to shove it down for the longest time.
He pursued a medical degree, with the goal of becoming a pediatrician.
During the 2008 financial crisis, the Decker family partnered with the Hellraisers Motorcycle Club to avoid financial ruin.
Sammy graduated from med school and began working at Tonopah Valley Medical Center, and eventually set up shop in a small section of the ranch to give as-needed medical aid to the Hellraisers.
Struggled with hiding his sexuality, which led to self-destructive behavior until he came out to his siblings and friends by age 30.
He accidentally enabled his mother's relapse into addiction by prescribing her pain medication when her old injuries acted up, which eventually led to her fatal overdose, causing him immense guilt.
After his mother's death, Sammy came out to his father, who accepted him without much fanfare. For only the past 5 years has he been living openly.
He continues to work as a pediatrician and help out the family business, trying to leave his destructive tendencies behind, but fears his past may catch up with him.
Has a hard time getting out of his own way when it comes to dating. Vulnerability is still very difficult to him, and often times he’ll deflect it with an attitude and a razer sharp tongue.

Most people are surprised to learn that he works with children given how rough his bedside manner can be, but he gets results and for the most part parents like him – and if they don’t? Well, as he likes to say, “I’m here to treat your kid, not win Miss Congeniality.”
