He has seen the breadth of time he carries the breadth of time with him. So he has an understanding of a society in a way none of us could ever imagine because he's seen the ebbs and flows and peaks and troughs of humanity. And I think if you were a being like that and if you were to put out music or art into the world you'd think that you'd be able to transcend that but he's just a victim of society like everybody else. So yeah, he can go viral for second but people will completely forget. I think that's the kind of line that Rolin totes, which is vampires are real. We are here. It's a bit like aliens are real. We've seen the proof now and everyone went like huh. It's like everyone gives a collective huh and moves on. What that does to you as a supernatural being where your whole power is like I'm a supernatural being and people don't really care. It's kind of confronting for him. So, it makes him confront himself, I suppose.

"The horrors keep coming, but so do I." That's a lovely sentiment you can glean from Lestat, which is you can be faced with so much adversity and so much horrific experiences, but we do have to just keep going. You can't just wallow in difficultness of your circumstances. You kind of have to get up and keep making the most of something. I mean, he's not perfect. He's really chaotic and sort of borderline psychotic. Well, maybe not even borderline, but at least there's an aspirational quality to him there, which is sort of like just get back up, keep going, try and make the best out of a situation.
