“Every father should remember that, one day, his son will follow his example instead of his advice.” — Charles F. Kettering
I don’t understand how people can even try to defend Mazepin by arguing Mick Schumacher is getting the “darling treatment” by media and fans alike.
Maybe these so-called fans have been living under a rock, or possibly, dare I say it, have not followed Mick’s (or Mazepin’s) junior careers AT ALL.
If they had, they would know that Mick has had to operate under immense surname pressure and fan and media scrutiny, far beyond anything any of his peers had to deal with.
And they probably missed the part where he would be accused of cheating whenever he won, and had his parentage being put in doubt whenever he lost, some adding that he was disgracing the Schumacher legacy.
He’s been faced with levels of hatred that no human being should have had to handle, even less at an age when kids are the most impressionable. It’s no wonder he had to be carefully guarded, else he would not have been able to develop into the absolutely wholesome person he is.
And let’s not forget what he’s had to deal with in private either: he was THERE when his father had his skiing accident. Aged 14 years old. Let that sink in.
So, sorry but, not sorry, I will never understand how anyone can even think that there are double standards at play when it comes to Mick and his team mate.
Simply, one has never put a toe out of line in spite of all the crap that was thrown his way ever since he started racing under his real surname, and has earned his promotions the hard way: by winning titles, or coming at the very least runner up. The other one, has literally bought his way into every category he’s raced in, barely scrapping the necessary points for his F1 super licence, and the list of his “misdemeanours” is too long to sweep them under the rug and pretend he’s just “misunderstood”.
Mick’s has worked very hard for the respect he now gets from most of the fans, the media and more importantly, his peers on the F1 grid, and it’s only natural that he’s not being made fun of when he makes mistakes. Especially when he finishes races nearly a minute ahead of his team mate.
And, to finish off, let me use a quote from the “Rush” movie, the one James Hunt uses when he beats Nikki Lauda to the vote to carry on with the Nürburgring race: “You know Nikki, every once in a while it does help if people like you.”
Having Mick, Callum and Zhou together in this Friday's FP1, I will watch that on loop, and pretend that they've all got a seat in F1 so I can be happy.
For reference, the reason why everyone doesn't make fun of Mick when he spins or crashes is cos he's a nice person and people give him the benefit of the doubt. If you're a d*ick no one is gonna stay in your corner and defend you.
That's not having double standards, it's being an actual human being with empathy!
Esteban befriending his racing idol’s son is the wholesomeness we didn’t knew we needed, but that we all welcome. Merci Esteban, from a lifelong Michael and Mick fan.

Gary Gannon on Mick Schumacher
"He impressed me from the start. As soon as he signed his contract, in spite of Covid, has started a series of long meetings with us. When he came in for his seat fit, it was as though as I'd known him for over a year. I have never seen a driver so involved. He arrived in Monaco on Tuesday at 7pm and immediately came to see me, while the other drivers didn't come in for the track walk until Wednesday at noon."
Oscar: I like to sleep, that’s my training.
Why am I not surprised😂😂😂

MICK IS NOT 170CM TALL!
It’s getting super annoying now and I’m even finding videos on Youtube spreading this incorrect information. Mick’s height is 176cm, as reported by BOTH the F2 official website as well as PREMA’s, you know, the team where he spent the last 5 years of his life. I daresay they KNOW this detail about their driver more than unofficial websites who have never even met him.
So please, for the love of all that’s holy, make sure that you get this right and stop people from spreading wrong data about him.
Calm down!
You all seem to have forgotten the very first rule of Drive to Survive: IT IS NOT REAL, IT’S A DRAMATISATION OF EVENTS TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT.
Max Verstappen made a point to NOT be a part of this because he didn’t like the way the producers mess everything up and this includes the whole Haas and the way they appear to have picked their drivers.
The reality is this:
The FDA waited until Russia to make their minds up over which of their three F1 ready juniors to pick (Mick, Callum and Robert), the decision came right after Mick won the Feature Race as it became clear that he was very much a favourite for the F2 title which would have worked wonders for Ferrari to justify picking the driver who always been their first choice, a no brainer really, getting a Schumacher back in F1 was a benefit not only for Ferrari but for the whole F1, as Domenicali has himself stated in a recent interview. They lucked out big time since by winning the F2 championship, Mick’s promotion to F1 was absolutely fully deserved, regardless of his last name.
After this choice, they had to figure out which of the two teams to place him. The choices were Alfa and Haas, Ferrari wanted Alfa, which is why Mick was placed there for the failed FP1 at the Eifel GP, but the FCA (the parent company which owns the Alfa Romeo Brand), wanted to keep an Italian driver on that Ferrari owned seat, so they kept Giovinazzi there, which also made Kimi happy since they’re good friends.
They entered negotiations with Steiner (please understand that Mick was NEVER involved personally in any of the negotiations, it was all between Haas and Ferrari, in fact, the contract Mick’s people negotiated and singed was not with Haas, it was with the FDA who are the ones loaning him to Haas, a bit like it happens in football teams, since the idea is that Mick should graduate in due time to Ferrari’s main team.
Steiner thought that they could keep Magnussen and pair him to rookie Mick, but Gene Haas insisted they found a pay driver to replace Magnussen too and that’s when contacts between the Mazepin and Haas started (initial meetings happened in Sochi) but the final decision was NOT taken until much later as it wasn’t certain whether Mazepin would get enough points for his super licence.
I would say that Uralkali entered a partnership with Haas right about the same time as Mick’s contract with the FDA and negotiations between the FDA and Haas were finalised; Mazepin was announced one day sooner out of courtesy, as his dad is the title sponsor, but make no mistake, Mick would have got a seat no matter what, even if Ferrari had to help out.
The 1&1 clip we saw, and the mock up of the suits showing the Uralkali sponsorship were entirely taken out of context because that definitely happened much later and the whole “needing a German driver” and “Schumacher is sellable and will get us 5mil more” were probably a scripted thing since Ferrari had already told Steiner they were getting Mick and Gene and Steiner all they could do was to accept that choice since it came with a lot of extra tech support from Maranello, which is worth a lot more than any sponsorship money.
So calm down people, DtS is as realistic as any of the issues Merc pretended to have during testing this year.
So called “experts” justifying their entire narrative on why Mick isn’t future F1 great material basing themselves on his F2 qualis make me crack up.
Mick set 4 poles in the 2016 ADAC F4, and another 4 in the Italian F4.
He set 7 poles (more than any other driver on the grid) in the 2018 Euro F3.
Prema has only set 2 poles since switching to the Dallara F2 2018 car. Both courtesy of Nyck de Vries, who went on to score 5 poles upon moving to the ART GP outfit. In spite of the fact that they’ve had drivers of his calibre as well as Robert Shwartzman and Mick himself.
And let’s not even discuss the fact that it took his father Michael from his 1991 debut in Spa all the way to the 1994 Monaco GP to score his very first F1 pole and seeing that he got 68 poles BUT 91 wins, it’s clear that he didn’t necessarily need to start from pole to win.
Alain Prost managed to win 4 titles (three of which with just 2, 1 and 2 poles each as a grand total for the year) and excluding his final year in F1, where he accumulated a whooping 13 poles with the Williams, until then he had an average of 1.6 poles PER YEAR.
So yeah, stop bringing up the lack of poles in F2 for Mick as an argument to justify a biased narrative, makes you look like you’re just doing a very shallow research before deciding to write your piece.
Someone needs to explain to him on Instagram that it’s wrong. There’s a reason as to why Mick hasn’t posted about his girlfriend if that’s what they are
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT GUYS.
Respecting Mick’s privacy should be a fan’s number 1 duty.
The father, the son and the holy spirit
Mick is PROUD of his team so, if you’re a fan of his, please stop attacking the Haas F1 Team. Understand that by attacking them, you’re attacking Mick.
Learn to differentiate from unrelated issues that have nothing to do with the unbelievably hard work these good people put into keeping Mick’s car running.
Thank you.
Just Ferrari being Callumick shippers, nothing else to report.
Inseparable duo...the pair of FDA Formula 1 drivers...
Guys, it’s official, Ferrari are Callumick (aka Schulott) shippers. 💞
At this point, their fanfiction writes itself.
Mick's F1 Family
Honorary Grandfather : Jean Todt (since he considers Michael his son and loves Mick like an actual grandson) Honorary Godfathers: Ross Brawn, Stefano Domenicali and Mattia Binotto (have known him since birth) Honorary Father: Sebastian Vettel ("what my father is to Seb, Seb is to me") Honorary Uncles: Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo, Fernando Alonso (Lewis is basically Seb's brother, Daniel is the cool Aussie uncle who plays football with Mick, and it was in Fernando’s junior karting school where Mick made his racing debut, also Fernando was one of the first to congratulate Mick when his Eifel FP1 was announced) Honorary Brothers: Pierre Gasly, Lance Stroll, Charles Leclerc,... (basically all of Seb's adopted grid kids and all former Prema drivers) Childhood Playmate: Max Verstappen (the Verstappens and Schumachers went on holidays and had karting weekends together, what else do you need?)
So, seeing all of those names, I daresay that guy who’ll be on the other side of Mick’s F1 Team’s garage is royally screwed if he even breathes funny next to him. And I’m not even listing all the former drivers like Mika Hakkinen, David Coulthard or Jenson Button because it would just get scary. Amirite?
