I’ve been seeing a lot people saying they find the narrative, some characters’ accents, or the way things unfold strange, and I think we’re forgetting that this season is being narrated by a Lestat who decided to record part of his story for anyone who might be interested in hearing it. We don’t have Daniel confronting him “in real time” while trying to unravel sinister plots behind a narrative that shows—once again—that memory is a monster; instead, we simply have Lestat wanting to show someone (and the world) how things were from his point of view. And this Lestat is different from Louis, different from Armand, and different from Daniel; this version isn’t the same one we’re used to seeing in Dubai, and of course we’re going to miss that narrative because it was with us for two seasons, but now we have to acknowledge that the narrator (and author of his own story) is a different character.

I know that Armand’s absence from the episodes can be painful—as I’ve seen some people complaining—and I, too, miss the amount of screen time Daniel used to have, since he’s my favorite character, and of course I’d like to see more of Devil’s Minion on screen, just as I’d like to see more of Louis, whom I also like. But well… again, we’re talking about Lestat. He tends to rush into things, to be impulsive, energetic, and emotional, and only at the end does he realize just how wrong his calculation of things turned out to be. Let’s wait and see, because I believe the pieces will fall into place. We’ve had two seasons to understand how Louis’s narrative unfolded regarding his own traumas and memories and how that shaped him over time; now it’s Lestat’s turn, and I believe Armand’s and Daniel’s turns will come as well.

Alex/Larry vs. Armand/Lestat

Do you realize why Lestat is always annoyed with Larry, always blaming him, correcting him, telling him to stop being such a pathetic failure and get it right for once? Just how annoyed can Lestat get with his own fragility?

The reason Armand attacks Larry first is because he knows Lestat's weaknesses and knows that they are what make Lestat vulnerable and a threat to himself and to the other vampires...

Alex asking Larry to take a rest is the same as Armand asking Lestat to stop all this. But Armand can't reach Lestat as he'd like to, unfortunately.

Lestat is always angry at his own fragility because it makes him weak, a failure to himself and to others.

How do we stop Lestat?

By taking advantage of his weaknesses...

Some book spoilers and random thoughts

I was thinking back on some AN interviews about the 'Prince Lestat' trilogy being a reboot of the Vampire Chronicles, and how a lot of the content in that trilogy was contradicted by the arrival of Atalantaya, and I keep wondering how they’re going to incorporate that into the series. How are they going to introduce these characters into Amel’s story? It was crazy because when the people of Atalantaya sit down to tell the story of Atlantis, we discover that many loose ends were told incorrectly, and if I’m not mistaken, they believe that Memnoch was one of them—who became a spirit skilled at deceiving people.

So, in the series, will they take things literally and already incorporate the ideas from the “reboot” of the Prince trilogy, or will they just carry on as if everything were the biggest manipulation in history—tricking us so they can later introduce the new characters and reveal that it was all actually a “lie”?

I find myself wondering what kind of deal Daniel made with Armand when he asked him to erase their entire history together... I mean, what kind of insane idea went through their heads that made Armand agree to that request???

The Vampire Lestat 3.05 "New York"

I just realized that some of Lestat's 'Failures' don't just narrate his own stumbles, but he also narrates how Louis, Armand, and Daniel are failing in some way.

Louis failing himself by using Regina. Armand failing to convince the other vampires. Daniel failing at being a vampire... etc., etc... 🥹👍

A long text and a touch of fan despair...

Okay, let's assume that everything about Daniel's death is about his death as a human and his rebirth as a vampire. For now, let's assume it's ONLY about that, because no one would give away a spoiler like that—a spoiler that one of the series' most beloved characters would simply die—okay? Okay.

Next, let’s talk about this brilliant idea some people have been floating—that Daniel is going to switch bodies—based on certain theories that Raglan James, in the first scene of the first episode, is already Lestat in a switched body, so Raglan is already in his vampire body... From what I remember of the books, David Talbot was “Lestat’s elderly human friend,” and clearly that role has fallen to our beloved Daniel in the series. I’m not taking anything away from it because I think it’s great—more time for Daniel to shine among the other characters—and David Talbot is dead, as Louis in the series made a point of stating (thanks, bro Louis).

So, to conclude, Daniel is in the body thief's sights... I mean, not literally in the sights, but Daniel will be there when the body thief's chaos unfolds, because, you see... the idea is for Daniel to always be around since he's the one who's going to interview the vampires in some way, so it would only make sense for him to be with Lestat when the body swap takes place... BUT David Talbot only switches bodies because he’s a member of the Talamasca, and like any member of that organization, he has powers, gifts, and abilities that have been honed over the years. Meanwhile, Daniel...? Daniel is lost; he doesn’t know how to use or control his vampire powers. I want to understand: if Daniel is targeted for a body swap, how will that happen?

That’s my main concern. Will Fareed help in any way? Will Raglan James help? Will Lestat help? Which body will he use? Into which body would Daniel be thrown? Would Raglan James enter Daniel’s body and throw him into some random body, using his body to get close to Lestat again or to escape, and then Lestat would kill him, just like he does in the books? Would Daniel’s body—that human body that was turned into a vampire—die a second time, literally, while Daniel is lost or temporarily stored in some other body?

I believe that if Raglan James loses his human body, he might come back—but in Rashid’s body, which would be the closest to the books. Or Daniel could end up with Rashid’s body, but then we have ANOTHER ISSUE: Regina.

When Claudia says she’d find a way to come back and then I see Regina, the only thing I can think of is reincarnation, but the books never went into much detail about that. Still, if there’s anything to be said about souls and spirits, we’d need witches or the Talamasca to help us understand what’s going on, so in conclusion, I’d say—and this is just a wild guess—that Regina is part of the Talamasca’s plans, but if she isn’t, then we can assume she’s an exact copy of Claudia or that she’s part of some crazy cloning scheme, just like Viktor was.

In short, if Daniel is going to switch bodies, I’d only accept Luke—otherwise, heads will roll and bodies will go up in flames.
