Can’t stop thinking about how all of S2, Aziraphale is throwing himself at Crowley physically (the hand on his chest in the bar, the dance, the hand on his shoulder when Gabe and Beez say being together is more important than sides) waiting for Crowley to make the next move, while Crowley is throwing himself at Aziraphale emotionally (trying to make the humans fall in love by engineering a rainstorm, letting Aziraphale drive his car, recommending Alpha Centauri as a place for Gabe and Beez to go). And how in the final 15, they finally get closer to giving the other what they have been asking for all season, but it’s twisted and miscommunicated: “come with me” Aziraphale says and all Crowley hears is “to heaven”; “I need you” Aziraphale says, and all Crowley hears is “to change for me”; Crowley grabs Aziraphale and kisses him the way Aziraphale has wanted all season and Aziraphale, thinking it’s a temptation away from Heaven, forgives him instead of kissing him back.

Risked her job, hell, it's an open secret now that the Rupphire wedding (which, may I remind folks, was the first queer wedding in a kids' cartoon, which is a BIG DEAL) is why everything about the rest of the series felt rushed. They had to scramble to tell the rest of the story because they took a gamble and the network retaliated by shortening their production time.

Rebecca Sugar and the crewniverse risked the entire show getting flat-out cancelled in order to show that wedding, only for people to say it "wasn't progressive enough" and was "giving in to stereotypes" to put Ruby in a wedding dress. Never mind that Ruby kept getting dubbed over as a guy in localization, Sapphire was unmistakably feminine in every version, and putting Ruby in the dress was a flagrant way to say, "fuck you, you can't pretend this is a straight couple; this is a queer couple and a queer wedding."

Dana Terrace has said that The Owl House only exists with its intended queerness because of what Rebecca Sugar and her team accomplished with Steven Universe. Hell, there are multiple members of the Steven Universe team who went on to work on the other shows mentioned in the OP--Steven Sugar, for example, who is Rebecca Sugar's brother and inspiration for SU in the first place (as well a background artist on the show), is currently an artist on The Owl House. There are people who got their start on Steven Universe who now only have the opportunity to tell more queer stories because of Steven Universe's success.

I'm not even 30 years old yet and I'm still old enough to remember when being gay was fully illegal in the United States. Not gay marriage, but literally just BEING GAY. It wasn't that long ago, and the fact that today in 2021 I can turn on the TV and watch gay cartoons intended for children? I never thought I'd see it. Fucking ever.

So let's stop pitting queer creators and media against each other, shall we?

So often older shows that seem pitifully lackluster by today's audience's standards were hard-fought, BIG-ASS DEALS in their contemporary context. (And for the record, calling SU or something like Korra 'older' to me feels bizarre af, I'm 28, this is all new to me in some ways. This is all extraordinary and the opposite of lackluster.) What you're seeing is an extraordinary amount of progress over the last mere ten years. Don't knock it.

So I actually liked the design of the Scorpius Rex and its roar is awesome but I never got how it actually differed from the Indominus.

Okay so it's uglier. It climbs and it's a bit more violent with how it kills. But I-Rex also killed for sport so?? How was Scorpius a failure but Indominus wasn't?

Wu makes a big deal in his video diary about how it's "docile one minute and aggressive the next", so I thought we'd get a scene where it's about to kill a camper and suddenly goes into playful & blissfully ignorant animal mode. Not like the Indoraptor playing dead and toying with its food, but genuinely just vibing with a human, making them suuuuper uncomfortable and terrified beyond belief, before it gets super defensive and violent at the snap of a twig or the blink of an eye. How damn scary and tense would that be?? I would have loved to see that! But they never utilise that. It just gets distracted by fire, or prioritises chasing down its rival Scorpius whenever it hears a distant roar. We never see it NOT being aggressive, so what was the point in that line?

Basically I think Scorpius is a cool idea but is never used in a way that's different than any of its successors. In terms of plot elements, it's just another Indominus. Another Toro. Another Rexy. Except it can climb and there's two of it. Oh yeah, and poison quills

I feel like Ben is from Michigan or Chicago, and Kenji probably has multiple homes but mostly lives in LA. And I guess we know Sammy is from Texas. But I have no idea for Darius, Yaz and Brooklyn. Thoughts? Headcanons?
