Introductory Post

Hello! My name is Reject.

This is my fandom blog, which I have been putting off making for a few years now. Congratulations, I got off my ass. This will be an art blog, specifically for My Hero Academia and heavily focused on the League of Villains (especially Shigaraki because, unfortunately, I have eyes).

I also have an AU called "World's Worst Guest of Honor" (WWGH for short), which I will occasionally post about. It is a rewrite to the ending of MHA where the League survives and has to... deal with that (albeit poorly). I'll be posting art and development for it here (in case you have seen it and are like "what is this?") as well as general League brainrot, character headcanons, and whatever else happens to possess me so that we can all spare my friends my incessant ramblings.

About the AU

World's Worst Guest of Honor is a League-focused AU following the surviving members (Shigaraki, Dabi, Toga, Spinner, and Mr. Compress) as they struggle to recover and attempt to badly exist as people. The AU is broken up into two acts:

Act 1: The alternative ending to the series focused around Shigaraki.

Act 2: Takes place after a two-year time-skip and follows Dabi's long-term recovery and the rest of the League adapting.

I put a lot of research into the medical aspects (burn trauma, grafts, prosthetics, physical therapy, etc.), and am happy and excited to talk about those details if anyone is curious!

I want Tomura to have one of those stupid nomu that doesn’t do shit. I imagine it’s very durable and can fly but that’s it (this is specifically WGGH Tomura… here’s a long ass ramble about it under the cut:

I’m thinking specifically like… Post-War Tomura who isn’t incarcerated but who instead lives in the middle of nowhere and goes around like the ghost he maybe should have been. It’s been months since he helped destroy AFO… but he still feels all of the odd things pulling at his chest: the fact his life was supposedly written for him, the fact he was just a means to an end, etc. He finally works up the gall to go to one of the labs (AFO had many in case any were compromised, and the heroes haven’t found them all), having to shove aside rubble to get inside. It’s a wreck, of course. Most of the machinery is destroyed, panels of the ceiling crashing down from the seismic crashing of the war months ago. He finds broken open tubes of not-quite-finished nomu and even some completed ones that were crushed as hunks of the ceiling came down.

He stops when he hears rustling.

It takes him a few minutes to find the source… but then he does. One of those tiny, little nomu, feasting on the body of a larger, less fortunate one. Through being smaller and sheer luck, it wasn’t squished and has been able to sustain itself on the rotting bodies of its comrades.

But that won’t last forever. The bodies will run out eventually or the heroes will find it and kill it.

…

It looks at him with such large, wet eyes, tilting its little head-body.

He should be disgusted by it… but he knows he and it are more similar than he is similar to most normal people.

It’s coming home with him.

Where are my Spinner fans at?

I love the headcanon that Spinner has a tail but also recognize that in canon he’s all flat and sad. So, in my personal headcanon, he was born with a tail but it was amputated when he was an infant for aesthetic reasons. It’s why he tends to wear such baggy pants or a baggy shirt: it’s hiding the little bump of the remaining nub

Goodness this hurts. It also plays well into the whole heteromorph discrimination issue within the universe, paralleling the surgeries sometimes done to give intersex babies a binary presentation. It all hurts.

I can also see Gariaki continuing to remove it when it grows back (gecko logic) but if AFO gets defeated and the League goes off on their own and ditches the evil 'doctor', it begins growing back in.

I have tangents for this but none of them are canon.

YES EXACTLY THAT IS EXACTLY THE PARALLEL I WAS TRYING TO MAKE! I almost even pointed out the idea that I had it based on intersex people or even circumcision—a basic part of him taken away for aesthetic purposes. People have pointed out it growing back, which I think fits well since he looks a lot like a day gecko, but I also like the idea that it just… doesn’t grow back. It’s a part of him he never had and will never have: proof that he was having to conform to society before he even got the chance to decide for himself if he wanted to.

But also the idea with Garaki… it sure would be awful if, with a little bit of a science, they made regrowth stunt in the area and then cut it off one last time.

I also mentioned this in a comment (to go along with the regrowing) that he’s just always under such stress that he’s always dropping his tail.

But, for my personal headcanon and AU, I tend to keep it as a nub he can never grow back. I think if I had to base him on a gecko with that in mind, I’d base him on a Crested Gecko. But also one can just say he is a gecko but the human genes don’t let him regrow limbs? Anyway

Imagine if he has trouble balancing because he's lacking a major organ, and the reason he is constantly toned is because his body is trying to regrow it. Because of the stress, though, he keeps losing the tail, so he's always lean because every bit of fat is going towards trying to regrow it.

If you do Gariaki, what if he's trying to experiment with Spinner's tail?? So he 'medicates' Spinner for long enough for the tail to fully grow, but then redoes the surgery so that it is permanently gone so no one else can compete. Meanwhile Spinner, with no memory of the past period of time, comes out feeling ill and sore but not knowing why.

Also yeah I'm not sure what my headcanons are, I just like brainstorming lol.

See I’ve almost designed Spinner with more digigrade legs and then EXTRA say he has balancing issues without his tail (plus a hunched posture). I think, at the very least, the lack of his tail causes him back pain. It makes walking for long periods of time hard and sitting uncomfortable since it was, truly, an extension of his spine before it was taken from him.

Also augghhhh all of his energy going into regrowing it just for him to constantly loose it… I think he looses it so frequently that, half the time, it doesn’t even get back to full length before he’s loosing it once again. It has to make training hard, his weight and center of balance constantly shifting because his body can’t decide if he can have this additional piece of him or not.

Also hm hm I like it but I think the tail takes WEEKS to regrow. I think Spinner would do it if Shigaraki asked him to do it (and Shigaraki is only asking him to do it because Garaki asked him) but I think the timeline would be hard since he’s a lieutenant. He either has to be kept in the facility (where he will ultimately keep pissing off Garaki because he keeps looking for Tomura) or doped out of his mind.
