You know he snuck that thing into bed next to Temari for one of those pranks where you wake someone up next to a mannequin and watch them freak out. I was thinking about headcanons relating to the sand sibs and my brain immediately went to my fave topic, clothing headcanons… which probably wasn’t what you meant but my brain can’t be stopped

So anyways have some Suna traditional clothing headcanons as my apology for taking like half a year to respond to this:

-piercings and jewelry are very big in Suna, as the desert region is rich in metals. Ear piercings are super common and often done at a very young age: people tend to favor studs or small hoops for practicality, but larger and/or more elaborate earrings are often worn for special occasions.

-(all the sand sibs have multiple ear piercings. Also Kankuro has a septum ring bc I said so)

-the face paint worn by some Suna shinobi is made from a certain strain of plants native to Suna. The markings have many possible meanings: some wear them purely for aesthetics, some wear them to honor Suna warrior tradition, and some model their markings after the markings of a loved one

-(Kankuro wears face paint bc A) he likes the aesthetic and B) he likes that it makes him look less like his dad)

-due to frequent high winds, the people of Suna tend to either have short hair or keep their hair tied back to make it more manageable. Head coverings are also commonly worn to help protect against wind and sand

-Suna clothing is lightweight, and people tend to put on extra layers of clothing during the night when it’s much colder

-everyday clothing is usually unornamented, while formal clothing often features beading and/or embroidery. The most common pieces of formal attire are ornamented shawls and scarves

-Suna is a more spiritual society than Konoha, and people believe in various desert spirits. As such, some people wear talismans with spiritual purposes (such as warding off malicious spirits or honoring a certain spirit). The one I drew Temari wearing is a talisman honoring a wind spirit

So I watched Demon Slayers lately.

And I can not shake the idea of the sandsibs in there.

Either as demons - breaking free together and growing closer.

Or. As Demon Slayers. And let me tell you thinking about which breathing style they would have is fun.

Temari - Obviously Wind Breathing.

Gaara - A mix of Earth Breathing (his absolute defense) and Wind Breathing, creating Sand Breathing. Which he is of course on the level of a Hashira.

Now. Kankuro. My man. Has given me thoughts more. Because he is my absolute favorite of the three. And one thing I just could not shake is ... What if he is the one of the three that is unable to learn a breathing style reliably? But he would fall to Shinobus insect breathing...

So my thought here was that Kankuro has Asthma and so can not do the breathing styles. But. His asthma got less with age (and medicine that he has to hand) he can do on occasion some of the insect breathing. Going on speed and poison, bringing him to insect breathing. But when he does it his asthma acts up so he is only allowed in emergencies and can only do three moves before he will need his medicine to not literally die. So he is normally the clean up and healer.

And of course if there is Kankuro there has to be Kiba.

Kiba obviously has Beast Breathing.

And I just like the idea of Kiba and Kankuro becoming a (secret) couple and Kiba learning of the asthma (because I bet that Kankuro is not telling anyone about it who doesn't already know it) Because he fucked Kankuro so well and thoroughly that ... He stole his breath away.

I love kankukiba. They're such a fun little rare pair.

They're both hilarious:

Kankuro is intentionally hilarious, he can crack jokes at any time, and his sarcasm is almost too real. You can hardly tell if he's sarcastic or not. Kankuro is the type to give Mariah Carey levels of insults, in the sense that you don't realize he just insulted you until you wake up in a sweat in the middle of the night shouting, and you finally figure out that he insulted you 3 days earlier but now you can't get your get back because it's too late and the issue has been dropped. He loves to egg people on to get them to go along with his dumb shenanigans. And people get so caught up in his subtle tactics that they go along with him. He's like the perfect car salesman.

Kiba is unintentionally hilarious. He's a bit of an airhead, 'rocks for jocks' type of guy. He's passionate but has delusions of grandeur. Everyone goes along with his delusions of becoming the Hokage because it's funny and cute at times. Shino and Hinata don't say anything because they're too nice and coddle him and feed into his fantasies lol. He's part of Jesus's Naruto's disciples inner circle of friends and he's proud of that and will name drop him if he's in a new place. He cracks dad jokes a lot of the times. His sarcasm is obvious, and his insults are at the same level of a catty desperate housewife. His grew up around a matriarchal circle (badass mom and sister, teacher, teammate) so actually he's surprisingly not an asshole to women.

So yeah, when Kankuro and Kiba are together they make some very hilarious situations, they love to banter with each other because finally! someone gets it! it's like a battle of who can be the wittiest. Other people might find it annoying, but they absolutely love it. It's how they flirt.

Kiba will go along with Kankuro's shenanigans, he doesn't need to be sweet talked into it. Kankuro will be like "let's do this dumb shit" and Kiba will be like "bet!" . Kiba will establish himself as the "leader" and take the credit, but we all know Kankuro is doing most of the leading and other people have that figured out as well.

Temari, as the oldest, lived w their mother the longest and has an ok-ish idea of love

Kankuro, middle child, has a fucked up idea of it but it’s there

Gaara is gaara. We know how that went

Then Shikamaru, Kiba, and Lee came along. And not they are slowly learning what love actually is. And it is so much greater than they ever could have known.

Specifically thought of this for Kankiba, and the idea that kiba loves unconditionally, and Kankuro has no idea what to do with that. Kiba is the type who has already accepted Hinata and Shino as pack members, and shows affection openly and freely. Kankuro has one memory of ever getting a hug. It takes him time to adjust, and Kiba knows that. A little while into their relationship/growing feelings Kiba starts sleeping pressed up against him because 1, he’s so perfectly wonderfully safe w Kankuro to look out for him, and 2, Kankuro does better at adjusting when there’s no potential judgement or sudden moves. Sleeping together (literally) and cuddling during the day becomes very important to them as a couple.
