I just finished Alex Rider Season 3 (and as someone who has read the books all the way up to 'Never Say Die'), I'm even more intrigued by John Rider. But what I really want to know was how the dynamic was between him and his brother Ian.

I imagine John, as the sibling everyone immediately loved, was the most charismatic person ever. Was probably incredibly smart and was great at anything he tried. And Ian was probably good at a lot of stuff, too, but John was just always better.

Can you imagine having to live up to John Rider? (Even in his death, he still haunts the narrative) I don't know, maybe there was some resentment from Ian, always trying to be better but never the best. And then suddenly, John and Helen are dead, and he now has custody over his nephew who looks and acts so much like his dead brother at every turn but now has to swallow any feelings he had about John, negative or otherwise cause he has to take care of Alex cause they're all they have of each other now.

the alex rider series asks hard questions like "what if we put a reckless 14 year old in situations so stressful the average adult wouldn't be able to handle them" and ignores several others like "what is the actual timeline"

Alex: 14 (15 recently, but that's besides the point)

Me: How long have you been 14?

Alex: (seeing all the horror and suffering he went through flash before his eyes, visibly shaking)... A while.

Watching Teenwolf for the first time was like: Stydia?

Just for them to be like: hmmm, maybe. But Sterek though.

Then watching Supernatural now is just like: 👊🏾💥 Destiel (with absolutely no recovery time)

I finally binge watched Loki season 2, and I will forever be obsessed with the way Loki was just strutting everywhere and flipping his hair at any slight inconvenience

I love the fact that Peter B. was just like, "Wow, I did really great with that teenager I spent some time with that one time, I am now ready to be a father for the next foreseeable future."

And also he was totally definitely like, "Oh my gosh! Miles is going to be a big brother !" When he found out MJ was pregnant.

Forever giggling at the fact that Donald Glover's Prowler is just sitting and chilling in an animated cell with animated characters walking by and interacting with him and bro just gives absolutely no fucks

I'm am very easily persuaded it seems. You ship this random character A and side character X and tell me why they would have cute picnic dates or do the devil's tango somewhere probably inappropriate or just show me one fanart of them together and I am instantly with you. Ofc they should be together. It was always so obvious.

Of course I watched this series/movie and liked it and the characters so, the only reasonable conclusion is to scour the internet for all their cast interviews and then all the fan fiction I can get my hands on.

I know I'm late to the party, but you know that feeling when you watch a movie and suddenly just feel like your whole world view has been destroyed, your morals tilted on their axis and your entire life seems like everything has been slowed down or frozen in time???

Yeah, that how I felt after watching Puss in boots The last wish.

The Hale pack deserved better! Erica and Boyd should have stayed alive! Isaac should have stayed with Derek! Cora should have stayed too! They could have had their rocky beginnings but eventually (with the help of pack mother Stiles) they would have gotten together to train and bond, first out of necessity and then before you knew it, they would become an actual functioning pack (with the added bonus of therapy because Lord knows they need it).

I can just imagine on a random day (or so it seems, it's actually the Hale House fire remembrance day), the pack barges into the loft and manhandle a sourwolf who doesn't want to be bothered (especially not today) into the living room for a surprise (Derek tries to roar them or scare them into submission so they can leave him alone but they have learned to push back at some commands, they know he won't hurt them and he doesn't mean all his threats).

Erica is adamant that he's going to enjoy this surprise as they push him down on the couch (Derek highly doubts it but he is secretly glad about the distraction) and then they roll up their sleeves or take of their shirts— depending on who, and reveal their triskelion tattoos that they got. (A reminder that even though Derek and Cora may have lost their family, Isaac too, Boys and his sister and Erica has never felt like she belonged anywhere, that despite the odds, they found each other and became each other's family and pack.)

Of course Derek is speechless. (And no he did not cry no matter how much Erica, Cora and Stiles insisted that he did). He does realise though that he isn't alone anymore and they spend the day by visiting the Hale memorial and watching movies and gorging on snacks and food and taking puppy pile naps ("Stop calling us pups, Stiles!) which eventually leads to a sleepover (this becomes tradition till the Hale House gets rebuilt and becomes a sort of headquarters that foster supernatural children that lose their families and have no where else to go).

All in all, it wasn't a bad surprise as surprises from his pack go.

Something I think about a lot about the Teen Wolf movie is how Derek says he hasn't transformed or won't transform because the last time he did he scared Eli so bad that he now has a deep rooted fear that he can't get over and be able to transform. Which, okay I guess. I always just thought that even if he had scared Eli at first, he could easily just console his pup right after and make Eli realise that the big scary black wolf isn't actually going to hurt him (and maybe Eli would sense that he has some sort of pack bond with the wolf or some other werewolf explanation). I always just imagined small baby Eli cuddled up with his dad in his wolf form. And also, they could have still had the Eli issue with him not being able to transform but it could probably just stem from a feeling of inadequacy. Not being able to live up to the Hale name. An insecurity issue. And also, Derek should have been the one to realise why Eli can't or doesn't want to transform and like talked to his son about it. "I don't care if you can transform or not. You're my son, and I love you and you'll always be the best version of yourself in my eyes." Or something like that and then they hug and cry slightly about it and finally in the finale Eli sees his dad and family in danger, he finally transforms because he can't stand by and watch the people he loves suffer. I feel like this would have been a better alternative to Scott just coercing Eli's transformation through abo dynamics. Idk idk...

Me everytime I saw Derek and Eli on screen. Aka the best parts of the Teen Wolf Movie.
