The sun has departed from the sky, allowing us to roam in the moonâs radiant light.
This blog is a dedicated space to the vampire aesthetic. Expect writing of original vampire characters, as well as content related to all sorts of vampire media.
I wanted to come on here and speak about something I just learned about literally 5 minutes ago. Evidently, there is a portion of the IWTV fandom that is racist, specifically towards Assad Zamanâs portrayal of Armand.
Obviously, there will be racists in all fandoms. Even something as small as humanized drawings of the main 6 in My Little Pony is met with people being angry Pinkie Pie is often drawn Black. (Just say you're racist and move on if you have an issue with a pony being portrayed as a race other than white)
99% of the time, race is not exclusive for a character. Unless a characterâs race is specific to their story, (Examples include Merida from Brave, because she is Scottish, and the story is Scottish, therefore she is white) they can be played by anyone. If a characterâs race is not important to the plot, they can be portrayed by an actor of any race. Armandâs ethnicity is not important to his character, therefore, he can be played (and HAS BEEN PLAYED TWICE) by an actor outside of the original ethnicity of Armand in the books.
If youâre going to bitch about Armand being portrayed outside of his originally written ethnicity, Iâm also going to assume you have a problem with him also not being played by a 15 year old child. Do you also have an issue with Claudia being 14 instead of 6?
Iâm not going to sit here and say that I have a claim to know what people think. I am white, therefore I have zero say in how people feel in terms of characters being race swapped and the perspective of the people and cultures these characters are now being played and written as.
However, I can say, that the racism in claiming that characters arenât accurate is bullshit. The racism is absolute bullshit. Racism is bullshit, and youâre an idiot. An actual idiot. I assume youâre uneducated and small minded.
Grow up. Educate yourself. Do better.

Sam Reidâs portrayal of Lestat will always and forever be the best version of the character.
Tom Cruise did good, and Stuart Townsend did⌠okay (idk if I can blame him on this one, feels more like a writing issue than an acting issue)
But Sam Reid captures Lestat perfectly, and dare I say, made the character even better.

The change of Louisâ character from the books/original movie to the current series has to be one of my favorite adaptation changes of all time.
Louis, at least in my opinion, was very two-dimensional in both the book and original film with Brad Pitt, and I truly think that Jacob Andersonâs protrayal of Louis De Pointe Du Lac is the best. This newer rendition of this character is my favorite.
Should they ever remake this series again in the future, I hope they choose to work with the same backstory/origin established for Louis in this current rendition.

If you were to create a character sheet for your vampire OC, what information do you think should be included?
While there are obvious things like âhuman birth yearâ and âyear of transformationâ Iâm curious if there are other bits of information I should include for my characters!
About to finish Interview With The Vampire season two, with only one episode to go. I hope I end up still loving Armand when this is finished, but I have a feeling it wonât end good.
On a side note, I really wanna rewatch Queen of the Damned before season three premiers!
