... Really? I have to make a post on my blog to fuck around on Tumblr with, JUST to see recent activity on who may or may not have chosen to follow an empty, content-less, dried up space-desert of a blog??? Why??? I’m literally shaking as I write this

President Sebastián Piñera just declared Chile at “state of emergency” over the riots that are taking place in Santiago.

This means that the police, military and special forces are no longer subject to our constitution’s laws; they can legally violate our human rights without getting any punishment.

Guys, I’m scared. They’re torturing people and a student is already missing. They’re throwing tear gas grenades directly at people, shooting teens and college students, hitting and hurting anyone who happens to be on the streets. They apparently killed two college students already.

Please, please don’t let this get swept under the rug.

We need your help.

I guess I will be taken to prison by Chinese government one day, because of this art I drew, or the things I said.

I am from Hong Kong. As you may not know, this is a special administration region of China. We (still) have our own legal system, and freedom of speech, that’s why I can access to everywhere in the internet without censorship (I get ask a lot). Recently, over a million of people are protesting against the Extradition Law. It was an extremely-almost-impossible fight and many students are injured horribly by the police force. I WAS THERE.

If the extradition law is passed, which means that China can “took” anyone from Hong Kong back to China as “prisoners”. Oh you don’t wanna know what China will do to those innocent people …

The government is forcing the law on us. We couldn’t do this on our own. We need more attention from other countries. Please spread this message out.

The entire world is falling down.

I’ve seen post like this more and more, from a lot of differents countries, and it’s terrifying, how all the governments in the world decided that it was enough, that they’ll do worse and worse until we can’t.

I’m from France, and here too, things are bad, and it’s only a matter of time before it become as bad as at Hong Kong. Or other countries. More and more people get angry, but more and more lethal weapons are used against manifestations and such, and it’s terrible.

If you’re European, in a couple of weeks you will be denied any and all access to fandom contents on Tumblr and everywhere else on the internet. Here’s why.

On June, 20th the JURI of European Parliament approved of the articles 11 and 13 of the new Copyright Law. These articles are also known as the “Link Tax” and the “Censorship Machines” articles.

Articles 13 in particular forces every internet platform to filter all the contents we upload online, ending once and for all the fandom culture. Which means you won’t be able to upload any type of fandom works like fan arts, fan fictions, gif sets from your favourite films and series, edits, because it’s all copyrighted material. And you won’t also be able to share, enjoy or download other’s contents, because the use of links will be completely restricted.

But not everything’s lost yet. There’s another round of voting scheduled for the early days of July.

What you can do now to save our internet, is to share these informations with all of your family members and friends, and to ask to your MEP (the members of the European Parliament from your country) to vote NO at the next round, to vote against articles 11 and 13.

Yes of course, just like I could ignore what is happening with net neutrality in US since I’m from Europe and what they want to do won’t apply on my yard. But I didn’t. Hope governments from other parts of the world won’t get “inspired” by EU law making it spread everywhere like disease. Hoping for something to resolve itself is weak and wont change anything, we need to move and hope our actions will preserve freedom of us all.
