Scythe Slash ‘Soulcalibur III’ PlayStation 2
We need a SC Collection NOW! SC1, SC3 and Soul Edge should be more easily available. SC4 would be cool to if they can get the Star Wars characters back.
“Aang held no qualms whatsoever about absolutely brutally beating the stuffing out of everyone up to that point.”
He still wasn’t killing anyone, CD. You’re acting like Aang was brutally beating people like Batman until this point in the show.
Also, even if the Ozai society existed afterward, it would’ve been stronger with a martyr.
Have you ever looked at your own characters and said "Would"?
Kestri. That girl is an absolute goober
Maybe you can help me. There's something about Toph in the reboot that is different, but I can't pinpoint what it is.
Her story is more general. Toph's unhappiness with her old life is centered around how she's treated for being blind, misogyny, gender expression, and the disregard of parental will.
It's more than just not being able to live how she wants, Toph is bitter and angry over how little her parents really care about her to the point they don't even bother to know who she actually is.
Honestly it feels like whoever wrote for Toph was working through some shit.
Toph's story in the original was "She's blind, BUT DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU!" Everything involving Toph always circles back to her being blind or rude and little else.
In 2026, going "Look at our disabled character, that's literally all she's here for" doesn't fly anymore, so about 4 more vectors are added to her story.
Would Niva or Lavi ever have a kid?
I strongly considered Lavi having a kid, if only because Niva would love the shit out of that kid and be the world's coolest Aunt.
So a big problem the reboot has is Kyoshi talking to Toph. It's a huge retcon that the past Avatars can appear before people other than the current Avatar and proof that the people making the reboot don't understand Avatar.
I'm not sure YOU understand Avatar, my duck.
I always love when people try to argue against the idea that inflation is 100% corporate greed by saying shit like "When there's more money in the economy, prices go up!"
Yes, you are technically correct.
Now what's the connective tissue that gets us from A to B, motherfucker?
Some rich cunt sees there's more money in the economy and says "Oooh, I want that!" and jacks up their prices.
Now, crazy thought: What if we didn't let them do that?
Hey so you remember that Jedi Alie concept I shared a few days ago? Mikaila finally designed the poor kid.
Context: This was an AU where Alie got separated froim her mother, was found by Luke very young and brought to the Jedi Temple. She's an extremely poor student because her midi-chlorians are attuned to the Dark Side, and nobody (not even her) knows this, so she's MISERABLE.
Look at her. Everything about this is wrong.
I love how everyone's reaction to this has been "THIS IS WRONG I HATE THIS!"
Mikaila: "Hey I just realized. Alie's a creature of Darkness and Luke's trying to keep her from realizing what she is. Does that make her Ventus?"
Me: "I mean sure, but I don't like the extended implication there."
Mikaila: "Implication?"
Me, opening my phone:
Mikaila: Stares at this for 20 seconds not getting it
Mikaila: "NEVER MIND THEORY CANCELLED!"
So interesting but so SAD! :(

123 I WANT YURI!!!!!!!!!!!
yknow that ask about Niva and Lavi looking like average Earth Kingdom girls made me realize you tend to design a lot of your characters to look ‘average’. Simple clothing, realistic hair colors/styles, average body types. I know Mikaila can do more varied character design, so this is a deliberate choice. Like, I could see one of your characters just casually pass me by a street and I wouldn’t notice. I guess I could say it’s the antithesis of what I’m used to when it comes to people who make OCs. Even when I see people with OCs set in the real world there’s usually something very eye-grabbing about them; their bright colors, modern hairstyles, stylish fashion senses. But it makes sense since you’re not an artist, so the simple designs aren’t the focus but your writing is, and your writing is much stronger. As compared to my artist mutuals who fuss over visuals and may not have the most interesting characters in the world, but yknow they’re my friends so I still find some enjoyment in them. They both have strengths, but the way you approach character design is unique and I like to learn from it as someone who started as an artist and wants to pivot more to writing.
I don't want to be mean... But yeah I have artists friends who also have very flamboyantly designed OCs who are all as deep as a puddle lmao. So many artists have an army of OCs they aren't doing anything with because writing is harder than drawing.
The thing is though, it's really not a matter of not being an artist and being a writer instead. Mikaila's an artist and draws all my characters. I could easily do that if I wanted to.
The thing is I don't want to.
It's a matter of inspiration. My inspiration comes from my tastes in art, which is often grounded in design. Hell I've talked about preferring grounded stories for years. This is what character design looks like when your favourite character of all time is "Girl whose hair might be pink depending on who you ask."
Most of these hyper-flamboyant OCs are made by people who grew up with anime, so they're all playing a game of "Spot the Main Character."
If you wanted to pivot to writing, you're going to need more than aesthetic tastes. My aesthetic tastes come from genuinely liking that kind of character design.
I don't like overdesigned characters. They're tacky.
So in Avatar, what would have been the proper solution to the issue of the colonies?
Hand the land back over to the Earth Kingdom. If the people living there want to stay there, they will live there under Earth Kingdom jurisdiction.
If they don't want to live under the Earth Kingdom, then they can repatriate to the Fire Nation.
If they don't want to do either, then it sucks to be them.
The argument against this is the colonists might start a civil war. If the Hells are their destination, then the Earth King will gladly speed them on them way.
The problem is Aang being the Avatar and a pacifist will do literally anything to avoid fighting, and Zuko has had his mind poisoned by Ozai and starts actively sabotaging the Harmony Restoration Movement and validating the colonists, and HE was the one ready to start the war all over again rather than leaving the colonists to their futile struggle.
