What you get when you put a Lupine LeGreatGangscrag in nature for a week
This isn’t even like. Half the pages I filled I’m just so sketchbookpilled
I’m rewatching s2
he looks like he’s about so say some nonsense like “indubitably” or something
1.17: Role Model
i paused at the wrong time and then laughed so hard i cried
This show is so deeply unserious sometimes
foreman aka houses favourite
go guys go !!!!
forehouse......fourhouse.......
go guys go !!!!
forehouse......fourhouse.......
these are the guys curing your mystery disease?
Studdy propaganda because I wish we had more of them…
like. okay. i already Do Not Fucking Buy wiping experiential memory as a cure for broken heart syndrome. like. i know they do a ton of insane shit on that show but like, they found my limit with that. i cant get over it.
but when?? they find out the memories are false?? [which, like, by the way. no one thought to check for two seconds??? or like ask amy about any of this????] theres. BASICALLY no reaction??
like. you killed that guy. you functionally killed that guy but hes still alive and walking around and talking which is in many ways more terrifying. and all we get is "well you just have to move forward :]" like Im Sorry?? no. cameron is SPIRALING after that. are you INSANE.
what pisses me off is it could have been such a perfect launching point for cameron and her character and issues like. are you kidding me. she has so much trauma about her dead husband and love for him and yet also fell in love with someone else during their marriage, also has nothing good to say about her husband at any point. in this episode AND the next one, cameron is forced indirectly to deal with those feelings: here she takes the side of the patient in a typical cameron-ish way — forget everything, forget your heartbreak, lose your entire identity to avoid pain — and then in ODOR she’s stuck with a dying homeless man and begging him, in tears, to take medication, to stop suffering, to stop making her suffer by watching him in pain.
that’s so fucking juicy! that’s so interesting! how far will cameron run to avoid pain? what will she do to avoid being scared and hurt and vulnerable? and THEN! then!! in insensitive! foreman accuses her of exactly this, of not knowing what love or commitment or actual pain is because she clings to a man who has been dead a decade and acts like it’s true love, and cameron turns around and asks chase out! why? what’s she trying to prove? what’s her deal???? there is such an interesting suggestion of an incredible cameron arc in these three episodes and it just. isn’t even there. it drives me bonkers.
Studdy propaganda because I wish we had more of them…
i did not know this was an option

maybe an unpopular opinion but i don't actually mind that most of the women on house don't like each other. most of the men on house also don't particularly like each other! in the same way that chase was created in a lab to piss foreman off, thirteen was created in a lab to piss amber off and cameron was created in a lab to piss thirteen off.
the conflicts between women are usually just as rooted in their characters as the conflicts between men. in sleeping dogs lie, when cuddy shrugs off foreman's betrayal, the difference in how she and cameron see professional slights speaks to how much cameron cares about perceived fairness and how ruthless cuddy can be about her career--and even highlights their generational differences. when amber and thirteen butt heads about drug addiction in games, the conflict is really about how much amber values external markers of success and thirteen's relative comfort with moral ambiguity. (and amber has beef with thirteen in the first place because she rightly views them as competing for the same spot.) it strikes me that demanding that women agree for the sake of solidarity comes at the cost of flattening differences in how different women react to similar circumstances.
what i do have a problem with is that the women characters don't have enough time with each other. the relationships on house--like with all long-running shows--benefit from the passage of time. sustained time with each other invariably sands down sharp edges. most of the characters--even prototypical rivals chase and foreman--become somewhat bonded over time, even if they are not exactly friends. even though amber's resentment of thirteen is perfectly justified in context, if they had more time, their relationship could've easily developed very differently.
“Cameron loves dying people” are we talking about the same Cameron who, in Acceptance, does everything possible in hopes that her patient is not dying, despite everyone telling her the patient is clearly terminal? Cameron, who after exhausting every other option and has to tell the patient she’s terminal, is determined to be there for her until the end? Because the patient has no one?
Cameron doesn’t just “love dying people”. She has sympathy for people who are dying and have no one there for them. Cameron doesn’t want people to be dying in the first place, but if they are, she’ll be damn sure to make sure they aren’t dying alone.
#rewatching maternity and omg where do you get the impression that she likes dying people#she hates that shit#she's in so much pain from it#she persists and sticks with the people in pain cuz a) she knows firsthand how it feels and b) when a good person dies#there should be an impact on the world. someone should notice. someone should be upset.#that's cameron @3scythes
no no no this exactly, that's the whole point. cameron in maternity and acceptance is not acting kindly. literally: she is obsessive, she is lying to her patients, she is withholding information and making decisions that should be theirs and so obsessed and in pain. cameron doesn't love dying people. she's miserable. she's in pain. she's so terrified of loss and death and people dying alone, people dying needlessly, that she will break herself into tiny pieces to prevent it. even if it makes her miserable. she married a dying man! she tears herself apart! see also her in one day one room, begging the patient to let her help him, to stop him suffering, to keep her from suffering too.
this is why she is also against euthanasia in informed consent, why she is so miserable whenever she's faced with the dying. it isn't just that she wants to take care of them, it's that they shouldn't be dying at all. there's nothing noble about death, there's nothing peaceful, she gets no fulfillment or happiness out of helping someone in their last days — pay attention to how she talks about her husband and notice how unhappy all her memories are. hell: look how hard she took kutner's death: she really didn't know him all that well, but the mere reminder of death as a possibility caused her to enter a self-destructive panic spiral and nuke her relationship with chase. cameron is not okay with death. cameron is never okay with it. loss is in fact the thing that has always scared her the most.
Can we talk about how House very specifically had rented porn that Wilson was in when he otherwise would have used the Internet as was his precedent, jokingly invited Wilson to masturbate when he caught him with porn, got mad when Wilson returned it, and then quipped that because he no longer had the Wilson™ porn he had to pull out Wilson's family photos (of which Wilson would be in). And then of course he had to cover it all up as a prank at the end after being caught... Because once Wilson was clear headed he probably would have put the pieces together. This is all canon btw.
Also also! House printed out flyers declaring himself producer of Wilson's porn. Very very hetero best friend behavior, yes indeed.
