I bet you there’s been loads of times where one of Carlisle’s colleagues touched his hand when handing him something and felt how ice cold his hands were. Which left them confused and asking Carlisle why his hands were so cold and if there was a problem with his blood flow. They then asked if they can check his pulse, and Carlilse humored them a little, and to their shock they couldn’t find it, which was impossible since he was alive. Then rumors spread throughout the hospital. One time Carlisle walked in one a few of the interns discussing if there was a supernatural reason in hush whispers.

One girl was like, “There has to be a logical reason. The machine probably malfunctioned that day, it happens.”

Another girl shook her head, “I dont know. Something about him doesnt seem human.”

A boy chimed in, “He might be a incubus.” The girls give him weird looks and he explained, “What? He’s fucking hot. Look at him.”

Carlisle then startled them by adding, “I heard he might be a vampire.”

All of three of them jumped, then quickly apologized, flustered he overheard their gossip, and immediately found something else to do.

Esme/Bella: Bella brings out Esme’s maternal instinct more than the others bc Bella never felt like Renee was much of a Mom. Bella confides in her and Esme loves to feel needed like that. Also they love to bake and garden together (Jake and Seth eat everything so none of it goes to waste). Bella likes Esme’s calming energy bc Edward is so melodramatic all the time. They have a book club that is just the two if them bc they’ve tried inviting the others but every member of the family has managed to get kicked out at some point (most notably Carlisle for absolutely losing his shit in the middle of their pride and prejudice discussion).

Carlisle/Jasper: They share a nostalgic interest in history and research. They get into incredibly heated debates about very trivial (and not so trivial) things, especially from the times before they met. They also love to learn new languages together, so it is not uncommon to hear them conversing in Spanish or Japanese or Latin. Also they love strategy board games. Like too much. When they play as a family, the two of them always take it way too seriously, so they mostly just play by themselves. They have a game of risk they’ve been playing since 1994.

Alice/Emmett: Chaos. They’re not allowed to hang out in the house alone together bc their schemes only ever end in destruction. In the 1980′s the two of them won the lottery 12 times using different fake names and disguises (the last time it was Alice McCarty, which was just Alice on Emmett’s shoulders in a trench coat). Alice is also very good at predicting exactly where Emmett will fall if he jumps off something. Sometimes she’ll draw a big red target on a rock at the bottom of a cliff for him to try and hit. He does. They are the cause of at least half of the times the Cullen’s have had to pick up and move in the middle of the night.

Edward/Rose: For a few months once or twice a decade they are the best of friends. They are a deeply creative force when they get together. The compositions that Rosalie helps him with are his best work by miles. Edward supplies Rose with much needed perspective as she tackles different theorems and mechanical dilemmas. They mostly talk about how much they love their partners. They discovered their love of knitting through one another and will have competitions. This has broken their friendship streak in more than one instance.
