The thing is, Shelby's not a doormat; when Scott says or does something unsavory or hypocritical, she'll call him out on it. "Don't act like you've never lied" when he's scolding her for lying about turning avid springs to mind. Scott reacts as you might expect: I've never lied to you, and when that's obviously untrue, while you've been a vampire. He never admits fault, of course, and so Shelby always eventually gives in. They are willing to admit fault in Scott, actually; but only to an extent. Sure, he committed massacres, but that was ages ago. Sure, he's lied to them, called them food to their face, but they've "forgiven [him] for everything". Sure, he's trying to be better, but God forbid he acknowledge anything he's done wrong. The point is that he's trying.

If you hate trans men, even as a joke, I don't trust you, bcs if you aren't queer or trans then you are not a good queer ally and instead are an amoral coward who's too scared of being a bad ally to contradict queer and/or trans bigots when they say bigoted shit, and if you ARE a queer or trans person you're a traitor, but either way, you have no place in my community until you stop being a bigot. I think some of y'all create mcyt siblings headcanons because you don't know how to deal with a man and a woman being friends. Like I have rarely ever seen people headcanon two men or two women as siblings, it's usually only ever a man and a woman. You guys know a man and a woman can be friends right? They don't have to have a sibling dynamic to just be platonic friends?

ill be so real the most personally insulting element of "content creator boundaries" as the mcyt sphere conceives of them is the idea that if i watch a fictional series published on youtube dot com and really enjoy it and feel inspired to make fanworks of it, before i am "allowed" to do so i am expected to go to Some Guy's Twitter where they have posted the rules for how to do that.

like. brother. i dont know that guy. they dont know me. i am not interested in knowing them. i am interested in the videos they posted on, again, a different website. to a public audience. this aint about them. so why is the expectation that i go to their fucking. social media account on a site i dont use and look up personal information about them. it's parasocial as hell. not to mention completely unintuitive if you havent been frog boiled by mcyt fan culture long enough to view it as a matter of course.
