honestly when posting this i was thinking hunger games introduction of the tributes or something but CROWN PRINCE MISA ? hell yeah please that is such a good idea....

im thinking misa not wanting the burden of the crown, struggling with the expectations of it, on top of a complicated relationship with his father ?? like he feels very isolated and the only place where he feels safe is his own head (which can also be the worst at times when the fear and anxiety are eating at him)

and then here comes sam and he just brings out the best out of misa, their forced proximity slowly turning into a kind of alliance. because sam is loyal like that. he has an immediate crush on misa but it doesn't matter. his number one priority is to stand by him and support him without asking anything in return. but somehow sam learns how to make misa feel safe and relaxed, he sees every threat before they even arise. they become the power duo no one saw coming.

like, sam is gentle, charming and will do anything for misa but in front of the court he WILL destroy anyone who speak ill of the crown prince. he is not afraid of bullying mean concil members and use his strong built to hover near misa during official ceremonies, making sure everyone knows they are a pair. through thick and thin.

the way sam acts like he has complete faith in misa gives misa the confidence to speak his political ideas and slowly ppl are like ?? oh but the kid is SMART ??? why did he stay silent so long ??

something a little different today as summer rolls in on our horizons. summer is something different for me, meaning i’ll be happy one day and depressed the next. being separated from my friends takes a lot out of me, especially where i’m so used to seeing them everyday. it gets to the point where, on rare occasions, i am physically sick.

coupled with my low iron and migraines, it makes for a terrible combo. if i start posting less, you know why. :)

(p.s: the only things that help me out are liminal spaces, classical, or soft french music)

This is so hard because I have a few favourite goals and three overall favourite games. The Penguins game is in a league of its own, so I’m not even going to mention it here, otherwise we’ll be here all day.

My Favourite Willmack Games

March 30 — Sharks vs. Blues

This game is my all-time favourite Sharks game, bar none. Slap it on my forehead. Play it at my wedding. Play it at my funeral. Willmack were giving off vibes that remain, to this day, indescribable.

Do me a favour and watch this entire compilation. Run, do not walk.

This game gave us Mack eye-fucking Will across the cheer huddle. It gave us fandom trying to hire professional lip readers for their monumental bench conversations. It gave us “you need to be proud,” “stop looking at me like that,” “thank you,” and levels of yearning previously unknown to mankind. It gave us annoyed!Will when Toff dared to interrupt their dick-to-ass orbiting. Oh, and did I mention Rick was there? All of this, naturally, performed in the gorgeous Cali Fin jerseys. Seriously, find somewhere to watch this game if you haven’t. I promote it for free.99.

April 6 — Sharks vs. Blackhawks

This is another game that is very near and dear to my heart. First, we had Willmack flying saucers during warmups to copy Eky’s famous goal. Then came the national anthem shenanigans, which later led to Mack posting that famous picture of himself looking at Will to “Loving Life Again” on Insta. As if that were not enough, Colleen, Grace, and Rick were in attendance, sitting together, looking proud of their prodigies. Then, on the actual hockey side of things, Will recorded his 100th career point because, of course, this game also had to be historically significant. Mack was then caught looking turned on beyond belief by their goal, and later gave us clingy!Mack tripping Will for not paying enough attention to him. We got a full Willmack anthology in this one, folks. 

April 16 — Sharks vs. Jets

Their last game of the season: the Sharks winning 6–1, the entire young core scoring, Mack breaking the franchise record—surpassing Jumbo for most points in a single season, and Will collecting Mack’s game-winning puck. Then Drandy interviewed Will and called Mack his “partner”, the Sharks sprayed water all over Mack, and Sharks media released that goofy compilation of team shenanigans as the credits rolled.

My Favourite Willmack Goals

There are so many, but these are the ones that immediately come to mind: First, the first win of the season, which was narrative cinema. And then, of course, we have the spin celly goal, which frankly deserves its own thesis chapter, along with the two beautiful no-look passes and this sexy crease goal. Sick and twisted levels of chemistry apparent in all of them.

mack goes home to vancouver for the summer and skips worlds. rick is happy to have him there, and aiden is still sore off us bu's loss.

but he brings will with him. not that will isn't welcome it's just... rick noticed some things.

like how mack wakes up early now and runs, and while usually he'd try to make breakfast himself, will always has it ready for him. or the one-time rick found mack in one of will's bc shirts and aiden almost had a meltdown.

or the time when rick went to go check on mack to see if they were good for the rink later and found mack passed out on will's chest. will's mouth was open, eyes closed and rick could see the long eyelashes fluttering against will's cheek.

or the time when they were watching a movie and mack was practically on top of will. rj was giggling the whole time, but mack's legs were thrown over will's lap, head buried in his shoulder. he wasn't even watching the movie, half asleep like a little kitten from will's hand massaging his ankle.

or the time when rick saw will on mack's ipad, presumably on a facetime. that meant they shared an apple account. and also used the same number. for facetime. that meant will's friends knew to call that number. and it was perrault and leonard on the screen, mack behind will on the couch, beaming as leonard said something stupid but also roasting him constantly.

and the time when rick downloaded tiktok to check out what had been posted and he saw that will and mack shared an account? and most of the time, the account was tagged for both of them.

so, yeah, rick knew his son was a little peculiar with his friendships, but he never expected it to go this far.

(he and robyn have their suspicions on if will and mack have realized their feelings yet).

willmack high school au where will's this big quarterback guy and mack's a highkey nerd.

will falls for mack after they get paired for a history project. mack doesn't talk much, but will knows him from aiden, who's also on the football team, but he knows him from connor too.

mack helps will with the project, and when they're over at will's house, they get closer each day. mack opens up more (i- he opened up real quick) and lets will in on why he quit sports, why he doesn't hang out with anyone except connor bedard, his brother, and occassionally lane hutson.

by the end, will knows about mack's home situation, about his fears, about why he's a 'loner'. will leans over, tracing mack's jaw and the scar that made him give up sports forever. the scar is fading, a light pink now and it blends into flesh, but it's still there. still a reminder of why mack doesn't play anymore. still a reminder of the skate to the face.

when mack comes to a game to cheer on the football team (will), connor, aiden, and lane are shocked. they'd tried so hard to get mack to a football game and suddenly will smith gets him to come to one? absurd.

will scores a touchdown. after the game is over, mack waits in the stands until a sweaty, but dressed, will comes over and doesn't even wait for mack to say yes as he kisses him.

the two are fairly hidden but to those who know them, they know that both of them are down bad for each other. when the team wins the regional championship, will lifts mack and kisses him in front of the team.

(aiden's not shocked. but. really, will? his baby brother?)

mack and will yearn for each other silently, but loudly at other times. my favorite moment of mack doing this is the heavy breath he takes in on the ice when he looks at will. my favorite thing ever.

another example of this is mostly the entirety of the cat and julie podcast. this is loudly.

it's also in the comments other's make. toff's comments, eky's, etc. (literally forgot everything they've ever said, help).

and mack always looking for will on the ice. sure, he looks for eky, misa, toff, cherny, etc. but it's mostly will, because he knows will knows where the puck is going.

the jersey swaps! the bc bu rivalry (from what i've heard) is serious. imagine leno and gabe looking at this. or aiden. or lane. macklin celebrini, bu superstar, walking into a game with bc superstar will smith's tarp on.

this one too! the way mack is just cheesing at will with his 'will smile'.

it's in the comments they make about each other too. will, who's played center his whole life, now identifying as a right winger because he gets to be on mack's line. what is hockey without playing with mack?

we see that proved in the days that warso moved him down to the fourth line.

it's not that will and mack need each other (don't get me wrong they do) but it's the fact that them playing together makes each other better. it doesn't distract them; it makes them better players (ex. no look passes).

it reflects on their relationship outside of hockey as well. the chemistry they have off the ice moves on ice, and vice versa.

carlos playing jannik for the first time and looking across the court to see a tall, lanky boy with red curls and freckles. i know he was down bad from that moment.

jannik looking up and seeing a slightly younger boy with brown hair and puppy dog eyes. he got his eyes on the prize right then and there, and i'm sure he got it.

them playing each other so many times since then and just enjoying it so much because the two of them are so intertwined with each other's lives. you don't usually hear 'carlos alcaraz' without mentioning something about 'jannik sinner' or 'rivalry'.

and when they go in for the hug at the end of the match, sweaty and disgusting from the match, it doesn't faze either of them. they just love each other's presence, and get this joy by playing each other.

the invisible string between fraser minten and connor bedard has to be studied. these two little hockey players endear me so bad.

fraser helping connor with his work and connor just staring at fraser the whole time. he finally blurts out: "your skin is like porcelain." and fraser dissolves into giggles.

they're laying in connor's dorm and fraser is reading his shakespeare with his glasses on and connor looks over and shuts the book and then obliterates fraser's face with kisses.

connor's actually focusing on his work one day, in the library with frank across from him, when fraser walks in to find a book. connor stares and can't take his eyes off him until frank kicks him hard in the ankle. fraser later asks where the bruise came from and connor can't lie to someone so beautiful.

when connor gets in trouble and scraps his knee and face up from falling on the gravel, fraser sits and picks out the tiny pieces of gravel then wraps and bandages connor's wounds. connor can't help but stare in awe, paying no attention to the college hockey game on the tv.

connor's friends tease him about being so down bad for fraser, but he doesn't even argue, he just admits it. he knows he is. that's his man.
