A Message to Anyone Looking to Write About Slavic Paganism:

Please, please, please, please, P L E A S E talk to somebody first. It doesn’t have to be someone big, or important, or famous, but please talk to somebody. Check with a Slavic Pagan or Rodnover to make sure that what you’re saying is factually accurate and respectful to our faith. I realize that it’s a very foreign faith to most English-only folks, and that it can be really hard to tell what’s authentic from what’s complete horseshit. But that’s why it’s important to ASK. The gods and spirits and ceremonies you might write about are as important to some of us as anything in the world, incredibly sacred. It can be disheartening, frustrating, and yes, even insulting to see them misconstrued or falsely represented.

Most all of us are pretty damn friendly and proud to share as much knowledge as we are able about our beloved and sacred Gods. There’s no need to be intimidated! Just shoot any of us a message. But remember that this isn’t just a hobby or a flight of fancy to us, that this is our faith and our very sincere belief. Respecting that goes a very long way.
