"Can I help you?" Giving her usual neutral-slash-analytical gaze, Shizuku slowly shut her book for what felt like the hundredth time. All these people have been appearing and coming to me… I think Haru would appreciate this more than I would.
Sasayan usually just finds himself in the library when there's an exam to review for, but today was a somewhat special case. He is currently in search of Natsume to return a CD he borrowed. She seems to be nowhere in sight, so he did the next most logical thing: look for Mizutani, since she's bound to be around her.
"Hey, Mizutani-san!" he said as he pulled the chair across her and sat down. To his surprise, Natsume isn't hanging out Mizutani today. "Huh, that's strange..."
Mitsuyoshi was standing on a stool as he was placing boxes on top of a shelf, but with the sudden ring of the door he sort of lost his balance and fell with a bunch of boxes crashing down on him. Lifting the cardboard, he stared at the new customers, “Welcome.. what can I do for you! Oh.. Sasahara is that you?"
A loud crash welcomed Sasayan before he was able to shout out his usual greeting. Seeing boxes strewn all over the place, a fallen stool, and the Manager in the middle of it, he can quickly deduce what just happened and an involuntary, if not late, wince came to him.
"Whoa, that looked like a bad fall. Any dislocated joints, Manager?" he said, with the slightest hint of teasing at the last question as he help clear away some of the boxes.

“Having money doesn’t mean that we spend it wastefully or that we don’t give money any value. While calling us rich so casually only a rude interpretation of it is what we get—” Wait why am I answering him?
He nods thoughtfully, actually quite surprised to get what seems like an honest answer. "People really do associate rich people with being rude, huh?" Like in those TV dramas. Come to think of it, Yamaken-kun surely fits the role. "I guess I'd be bothered a lot too if I know people judge me based just on that."
“Some dumb people don’t get it. Being called “rich” is far from being a compliment.”
"Hmm. How so?"
[OOC]
Okay, I'm still somewhat alive! And sorry for not being active lately. :( There's this part where my internet connection likes to be nonexistent every once in a while. Plus I've been swamped in school work too. I have most of the threads I owe saved in my drafts, however, and I'll try working on them still! (except maybe at a snail's pace orz)
To those who followed me lately, THANK YOUUU. ;_; If you want to rp or anything, feel free to make a starter and tag me in it! (I might cry tears of gratitude if you do this tbh) I might not reply right away but I'll be sure to keep them in my drafts so I can reply to them eventually.
Crossing his arms with a confident air, the delinquent concentrated on the machine a moment before taking another quarter from his pocket and cranking the chrome knob. Clink! Out came another capsule and out again came the toy from it’s comfortably placed home. Nope. Not cool enough. Out came another quarter and away it went, into the silvery slot and disappearing into the machine.
“I take everything seriously, Sasayan.” Haru replied with his typical half serious, half whimsical tone. This, of course, could be objected by every living person who has once crossed paths with him during one of his ‘missions’. Quirking his brow lightly, Haru placed a finger to his chin in a deep thought (well, deep compared to his usual act of impulse) as he watched the motionless machine. Yet again, he came up with no other tactic but to keep placing quarters in the slot. His pocket was almost empty of change - perhaps only four or five more chances before he’d be left with dollar bills.
“Whoa, nice catch, Yoshida! That one’s part of the limited edition set, I think. Who knew they actually have one here?”
“Really, a limited edition?!” Wearing an excited smile as he turned back to the machine, Haru took yet another quarter from his pocket. He just thought it looked cool, but to know that it was actually that awesome? Now it was an ultimate mission, stoppable to no one - and by stoppable to no one, the more accurate term would be ‘until he ran out of money’. Still, the boy hummed with brimming excitement with the second-to-last quarter disappearing into the slot.
Out popped yet another toy that wasn’t up to standard. What now? A single quarter wouldn’t take care of the last twenty some odd capsules. If only there were twenty some odd people wh— the idea struck. With an effortless motion, Haru stood from his squatting position and shoved the array of toys and capsules over to his companion with his shoe. “Sasayan, here you go!” Placing each hand behind his back, he awaited someone to cross his path.
“Hey, you. Don’t you want an awesome toy from this machine?” He inquired whimsically, pointing to the nearly empty container. The person shook her head and continued on her way, to which Haru shouted one last pleading case before turning to the next person. “How about you? You want a super awesome toy capsule, right?”
Maybe highlighting the importance of the capsule toy at the very top of the machine wasn't a good idea, Sasayan thought as Yoshida continued on trying his luck in it, humming as he did so. Still, things sometimes just slip out of one's mouth without much thought put behind it--usually provoked when one is carried away in with the moment; in this case, the sighting of the limited edition toy.
Sasayan sighed. He's supposed to be the "normal" one here-- much to his amusement since only in the company of Yoshida Haru do you feel the need to say that to yourself. Not to mean any insult to him, however; he is, frankly, strange, and there's no helping it. And with that, Sasayan felt somehow in charge of not further provoking said strangeness by, say, making him more fired-up on getting that capsule toy.
Unaware of the other male's new plans, he found himself in the possession of his lot of capsule toys that were not deemed special or cool enough. He absentmindedly picked one up. His brothers would probably be in hysterics if he suddenly brought home more than a dozen of these. 'Hey, Souhei. I didn't know you were that desperate in collecting these!', he mimed in his head with the teasing sound of his older brother's voice.
"A-Are you sure I can keep all of these? I just gave you money for only one, after all," he said. Yoshida, who seemed to have been struck by some idea, stood up. What is he... And all of a sudden, with some sort of eager determination, the other male started calling after some people in the store and offering them a chance to acquire their own toy from the machine, as if it's something they shouldn't be missing out. Taking a quick glance at the store's counter, he saw the cashier now eyeing them suspiciously. Sasayan took all the capsule toys they still had scattered on the floor then dumped them inside his small shopping cart.
With a pat on Yoshida's shoulder, he said, "Maybe we can just come back for the limited edition one! We already have a lot, anyway." How does Mizutani handle his antics again? Mizutani-san. Oh, now there's a thought. "And don't we still need to make that call to Mizutani-san? About visiting her in their house!"
“I see…” He mumbled as he watches Sasayan survey the area. Chinese restaurant? “No idea…” Yamaken shrugged as he rarely remembers places well.
"Oh, okay. It's just that I haven't had any luck finding it so far." Said friend didn't really provided a detailed description of the place, and he seemed unable to remember the name of the street it was on too. Sasayan still went, however, believing that the journey should prove to be as interesting as the destination. "Guess I'm lost too, huh," he said with a laugh.
The bookworm sighed, folding the tip of the book’s page to mark her place before closing it and setting it on her lap, looking up at him. “There’s too many people in the library today - and not the kind that are actually studying for anything, either.” The brunette stood up, taking the book from her lap and pulling up her bag before taking a small step to the side. “Sorry if I was blocking your way.” She paused, “Or did you need something?”
"That's too bad. You'd think the librarian would do something to remedy that." Sasayan wasn't exactly someone who minded noise; the opposite of it tend to bother him, anyway. Somehow, sympathizing with Mizutani about having to forego spending time in the library sounded like the right thing to do. "You weren't, and nothing, really," he said with a dismissive wave of his hand. "I was just on my way to class. Aren't you?"
Her eyes widen in enthusiasm.
"You play baseball? Wow. That's so cool! I never met someone playing it!"
Ilse was looking at him with admiration. Not that she never met someone playing it, but she never saw a match in real life- only at tv.
Hearing his invitation, she blushed slightly. Catching his glance, she began moving her hands and shacking her head.
"No, no... I'm not busy! I can go... if you still want me to..."
"Really? Your school doesn't have a team or anything?" And here he thought baseball was a pretty common sport. He offered a reassuring smile, seeing as she seem to have doubts over his offer.
"Sure I do. Eating with more people is always fun," he said. "It's just that I thought you have somewhere to go, since you're dressed nice and all." He was planning to go for just bread at the convenience store a while ago but now that he has company, maybe it's more appropriate to choose a place that serve more filling food instead. Hmm, maybe a ramen store?
sasayan+natsume || Lost in the City
It was freezing outside, you could see your breath if you breathed out air. Natsume’s teeth began to chatter, making her stay awake a little bit more. She kept her hands in her pockets and her face covered up with her hood. It was not the right day to wear a skirt and a light jacket. Since she didn’t know she would be out so late.
They got to the terminal and all the people around her made her feel uneasy. But Sasayan was next to her, meaning she would be safe. Natsume use to like crowds but now at the very moment made her feel vulnerable.
As they got onto the bus finally, after waiting a good amount of time in line, Natsume turned to Sasayan after his question.
“I would prefer the window. Please and thank you.” she told him sitting down in the bus seat but still not taking off her hood. She didn’t want to be seen in her state right now. But she laid back and yawned. The bus went on it’s way and Natsume drifted off into a deep sleep. Hitting a bump on the bus made her sleeping state move from leaning against the window to leaning her head on Sasayan’s shoulder.
After letting Natsume pass first then taking his seat as well, Sasayan spared a quick glance at his phone again. It's a good thing that there aren't classes tomorrow since, for being out this late, it's next to impossible to get enough hours of sleep and wake up in time for school.
It's amazing how Natsume was able to fall asleep that fast too. Since Sasayan took a nap back at the clinic, he didn't really felt that tired anymore. And another thing: it feels somewhat weird to have her sleeping so close to him. He was at mid-yawn when the bus went over a bump, prompting him to jolt a bit in reaction. And eventually, he became aware of the additional weight on his shoulders.
"Ah, Na-" He immediately caught himself and paused. She's still fast asleep, and surely it wouldn't be good to wake her now. And she must be really tired too, for he thought he heard very light snoring. He quickly brought a hand to cover up a laugh that was almost certain to wake her up if it wasn't abated.
//you aren't the only one who can do it//
Kenji was full of the subject and Sasayan already knew that, changing the topics was the best way to avoid conflicts
“W-what?!” Yamaken didn’t explain the reason why he was there, alone, when they met, and the other boy thought the blond was working there as a part-timer. That was a laughable matter since a part-time job was the last thing Kenji would be doing but, well, Sasayan doesn’t really know a lot about him; actually, no one knows Yamaguchi’s family that well, except Haru and maybe those three idiots. “I’m not working here. Mitsuyoshi wasn’t here when I came in, so I was waiting for him.”
While talking, they walked into the main room again, no sign of Micchan once more; maybe something had happened with him or Haru. Kenji had no idea of what to do next, his days were getting more boring recently.
"Oh, I see. It's just that I've heard of the Manager saying that he's considering a part-timer so when I saw you, I thought you took up on the offer." Sasayan didn't really think Yamaken would be in dire need of money to take up on it but he could have had other reasons. Trying new things perhaps? Just then, his phone started ringing, prompting that there's a new text message. He dug it up somewhere beneath his backpack and flipped it open.
It's apparently from Natsume, asking help to find Iyo. Maybe she thought that being a people-person, Sasayan would have ways of knowing? He didn't think that that was the case at all really, but at least he was fortunate enough to have Iyo's brother around to ask. Turning to Yamaken, he said, "Um, say, would you happen to have any idea where your sister is now?"
“Sasayan… It sounds really cute ~” She smiled at him, glad to find someone to talk to.
“So… Sasayan… What are you doing?”
"Uh, thanks?" He can't remember the last time anyone referred to his nickname as "cute," at least anyone outside his own relatives that is. Gratitude seemed like a decent response though.
"I just finished practice. Baseball, since I'm part of the school team. I was heading for something to eat," he said. Realizing that they can't full well conduct a conversation at the sidewalk, inviting her to come along seems like the proper thing to do. "You can go, if you want to." He eyed her formal wear again and added, "Well, if you're not heading to somewhere else important, that is?"

A day before classes resume after the winter break, Sasayan thought of trying to practice on his throw before official practices at the baseball team start. Unfortunately, the batting center's closed that day; no doubt the Manager had errands to run. With a pair of baseball gloves and a ball in hand, he trudged to the nearby park and sat on the bench. Fortunately, there seemed to be a couple of people around the park. He approached one and thought of how to word out his request.
"Hello," he greeted. "I know it's a pretty weird favor, but if you aren't doing anything, would you like to play catch with me?"
Shizuku sighed..After moved her ponytails at the back of her shoulder.
”I thought the same..but your friend Haru wouldn’t let me alone for a moment..he comes on my home sometimes and plays with my brother..so I have the time to stay alone and study..”
Shizuku stared down after held the bag she had just bought on her chest tightly.
”I haven’t seen Asako in a while as well..I guess she will be on her internet world like always..and what about you Sasayan-kun?..’
"Yoshida still does that, huh?" Sasayan had heard of him doing the same over summer break. He's always been attached to Mizutani, but more so than usual now that they've started going out. Maybe that's what dating does to you? "You should give him errands like shoveling snow to make use of the frequent visits!" he said with a laugh.
"Being on her internet world sounds about right. Oh, and I'm pretty bored at home so I thought of distracting myself by going on a walk."
