I swear someone had written the exact essay I want to pin but I can’t find it so

I prefer SasuNaru because

I love Naruto

I care for his happiness

I want him to be pampered and taken care of

Naruto chasing after Sasuke his entire life, the immense satisfaction of Sasuke giving just as much back in fanwork

I think Naruto is cute and I want someone to rail him

Sasuke being emotionally and physically vulnerable does nothing for me

The all powerful Hokage having no weakness but turns to mush under one person

Hi! Just now I came across this blog and I want to say that I fully support the categorical attitude towards narusasu. I also really love and respect the character Naruto and to be honest it kills me how he is seen in most art or fan fictions marked "narusasu" where Naruto is a vulgar alpha male, and Sasuke is a skinny little omega. When I look at this, it seems to me that they look at this couple in the most superficial way and as if they don’t remember the original source very well. It sometimes seems to me that they are simply trying to see a completely different couple in sn. I mainly follow Chinese, Japanese, Korean sasunara artists and I'm glad that they draw them normally and with their dynamic relationship. Btw, a funny fact I noticed: narusasu is mostly preferred by American (??) artists, so there is most of the content on tumblr about them :) but this is just a funny note for myself. Btw, I don't mind seeing Sasuke thinner than Naruto, on the contrary, I like the idea that Naruto has a belly and the outlines of his body are rounder and softer. Just a headcanon that Naruto eats a lot because of the nine-tails inside him, and not all the energy from food is spent on training, but is deposited in his body. And Sasuke likes it, because he didn't have such access to food at one point in his life, which is why he became thinner and drier. Sasuke likes the soft Naruto, because he understands that the dobe has a quick and easy the path to food, which makes Sasuke forget about the complexity of his life and the life of a shinobi in general, kissing every inch of Naruto's skin and accepting it as a gift from God that allows him to take his mind off things and remember his childhood, where everything seemed so simple. Sorry for such a canvas of text and hello from Russia :)

Naruto is also my baby boy, and I do I admit that I'm a bit more biased to characterizations of him being more sensitive. I don't think it's OOC for him, he's in tune with his emotions. I don't look at NS when I don't have to so I haven't seen what they do to my boy, but the idea of it makes me unfomfy. (Also like when male fans make him look like The Alpha Chad with Women clinging onto him because it's their fanboy wet dream.)

I do notice that NS is more popular in the US (where I am unfortunately 😔) and I think it stems from how popular SN was here back in the early 2000s and now they're trying to be "different" from that early image of what a SN Fangirl would portray them.

I think canonically Sasuke is thinner than Naruto while Nart has some bulk. Depends on what era to compare, I guess. (Shippuden era mostly)

sns is so fucking unhinged and nobody will ever be them i’m sorry. you start the series and it’s like oh haha look at these goofy angsty rivals! they hate each other! then sasuke dies for naruto thirty chapters in giving up his dream of revenge and naruto goes batshit insane. now you’re like ah they’re friends i guess that’s cute! and sasuke is trying to kill naruto because he’s the most important person in his life which is . ok and it becomes the driving force of everything or something. sasuke leaves and naruto dedicates the rest of his life to bringing him back and you’re still a casual fan so ur like he’s doing it for the promise right? then orochimaru says sasuke is his and naruto goes batshit insane feral homicidal (again) and after that sasuke reappears and they have ??? like five different panels dedicated to them staring at each other??? and he jumps off a mountain and hugs naruto for some reasons just to whisper some gay shit in his ear kishimoto frankly needs to be jailed drawing this and keep that best friend nonsense going. anyways. you have sasuke become a convicted terrorist to which the normal people response is “ok we need to hunt him down” and when naruto learns they’re gonna hunt him down he starts screaming crying throwing up he has a panic attack he can’t breathe he’s falling in the snow he gets on his knees and begs them to spare his BFF. after having a meltdown over the thought of sasuke dying what may possibly be the natural coping mechanism any stable person would adapt? of course realising that if sasuke dies he can die too. so he sees sasuke again and after he attempts murdering sakura twice and expresses the intent to murder kakashi he’s like. i will bear the burden of your hatred and die with you hehe and if we both die you won’t be an uchiha and i won’t be the jinchuuriki to the nine tails and we’ll be able to understand each other better in a different lifetime! WE’LL MEET AGAIN IN THE AFTERLIFE BECAUSE NOT EVEN DEATH CAN DO US PART! and sasuke (just as insane as him) doesn’t even flinch he’s like what the fuck is wrong with you but then ok let’s fuckingggf die together on my god i will kill your first anyways . then they find out they are soulmates and get cute matching tattoos on their hands and decide to fight to the death once more because sasuke is back on his i will shoulder all the hatred of the world alone and i need to kill you because i love you more than anyone else in the world actually you’re the only person i love so you need to DIE and naruto is like I WILL NOT LET YOU SHOULDER THAT HATRED ALONE I WILL FREE YOU FROM THE PAIN and they fight and despite all the whatever weapons used in the war it’s a fuckinggg fistfight in which just as sasuke is about to inflict what he thinks is the last blow says “farewell… my one and only…………………. (very long pause to accentuate how heteronormative this next word is gonna be) FRIEND” and fucking stops using his sharingan because not even then he can record the image of naruto dying especially by his hand but naruto STOPS HIM LIKE A f cHAMP and they end up blowing each other’s arms off (rip the matchies) and as they’re bleeding to the fucking death sasuke is like you’re the only person that has never tried to severe their ties with me why do you go so far for me and naruto from the depths of comphet hell is like because you’re my FRIEND and sasuke being absolutely done with this bullshit is like ok what the fuck does that mean to you then and this is where it gets even gayer and relatable because naruto is like i don’t KNOW i just know that when you hurt i hurt and i just can’t take it and isn’t that the most gay experience thing ever? naruto knows what it feels like to have friends but what he feels for sasuke is so bone deep and unconventional that he cannot make sense of it and can only describe the pain it brings. after that sasuke CRIES LIKE THEYVE GOT ME SOOO FUCKED UP but you know what got me even more fucked up?

naruto waking up bloodied and battered and half alive with one arm missing but still wondering if that was heaven because sasuke was next to him. sasuke looking so happy and peaceful when saying “i lost” as a stark contrast to him looking and feeling like half of his body was being torn apart when he “won” against naruto in vote1 and left him. the bitterness of victory vs the sweetness of losing if you will. AND HIM COMPARING WHAT HE FEELS FOR NARUTO TO PRAYING MY GODD. did i forget to mention that then we learn that Ohhh it was never a stupid shallow rivalry as we all thought! they have actually been watching each other from afar since they were little freshly traumatised children and have longed to hold each other’s hands since then! what was it sasukeeee you felt warm and fuzzy when you saw naruto to thought of it as a weakness? these two are so astronomically hopelessly desperately obsessed in love with each other it’s ridiculous i’ve had ENOUGH free me from this mental prison

Hear Me Out…

At first, I thought the whole concept of Boruto wanting to be like Sasuke and Sarada wanting to be like Naruto was just some cheap trick to differentiate the two children from their dads and get the audience to see how original they are.

But the more I think about it, I realize that it runs much deeper than that!

I mean the two of them must’ve heard about the story of the bond that their fathers had.

(I mean, I’m pretty sure that the Boruto Movie Novel stated that Boruto knew that Sasuke was a man who was his father’s equal since Sasuke can call Naruto without honorifics and Sarada is at least aware that her father and Naruto are friends)

It’s pretty impossible to NOT KNOW about who Naruto and Sasuke are in Konoha, more importantly who they are to each other.

And perhaps the two children who wanted the attention of their fathers more than anything in the world, knew even on a miniscule level, that their fathers payed attention THE MOST to EACH OTHER.

So when Boruto says he wants to be like Sasuke, it’s him wanting to be acknowledged by Naruto.

And when Sarada says that she wants to be the Hokage (read like Naruto), it’s her wanting to be acknowledged by Sasuke.

And it just hurts because even their children can feel on a subconscious level that they have THAT bond. Like I have no words to describe Naruto and Sasuke’s bond because it’s just so powerful and all encompassing that they could make others feel it, y'know?

Ughhh this is so sad, can’t they just let Naruto and Sasuke get together and finally get things fixed with their kids? Cause I’m like pretty sure SNS parenting them would solve this problem.

Hey can you here my rant out? I saw some blogs saying that we ship naru with anyone and making sasuke look like trash in our fics. I don't deny there r some fics like tht and there are some fans who write those. I personaly don't like it. Also they said some sasunaru fans hate sasu and use anti sasuke onn their fics. And this i haven't seen. I haven't met with these fics(good i don't like it when they hate anyone of naru and sasu) alright we might like naru as an uke and i personly don't like harem. But i can't even search uke naru or sasunaru for cute naru fan arts(not girly naru tho) cz there will sasUke they blam us but they do the same. Most of the naru arts i come across are Kira's and some old arts. Recently it's mostly sasuke's are like girly sasuke and blush mess sasuke( idk maybe it's only me who see those).i can't even find proper sasunaru arts cz they tag those arts under sasunaru and all i see is muscular naru with thin sasuke or stuff like tht.they do ship sasuke like with oro,ita,kaka(not all of them tho).recently it's mostly sasUke. But they only blame us.

I haven't seen any of that either (anti sas in sasnaru fic) and I sometimes think ns fans are just making things up to justify themselves.

I'm not big on Naruto harem myself because SN OTP but I get why people do that, because they want their favorite character to be loved so they can pass them around. uke sas supporters are allowed to do what they want to but they have to stop being hypocrits

The thing about tumblr or the tagging is that they want their content to reach a bigger audience but sometimes it's not even the right audience. I've seen some passable NS/SN stuff that can go either way and I think it's fair that they can tag both but if the intentions are obviously veered towards one preference it'd be more respectful to just tag the preferred version.

i really like the idea of love languages and i can't help but think sasuke's love language is acts of service, whether intentionally or not.

sasuke (when not out of his mind on his quest for vengeance) is always looking after and protecting the people he cares about (mostly naruto cause let's be real here lmao) as was pointed out in this lovely post, from feeding naruto even though kakashi told him not to all the way back in the beginning, to going out of his way to look for him when he knows naruto is out there somewhere probably exhausted somewhere from training (waves arc), to almost dying for him in their fight against haku, to taking the blow for him despite already being severely injured in their fight against gaara, to dropping absolutely everything for him in an attempt to find him and save him from itachi, and then all the way in the final war arc, wrapping him in THREE seperate layers of susanoo (when it is literally "the impenetrable shield" and just one would have sufficed he still goes all out and gives naruto the flames, the skeleton, and the armor) AND THEN STILL adds his own damn bare hand like that's gonna do anything???

anyway i'm getting sidetracked by sasuke's love for naruto but what i'm trying to say is, sasuke's love language is acts of service and that's very special to me also i think naruto's is physical touch but that's a post for another day
