The second thread is someone’s feedback on the chapter on Adolescence, which is one of the most egregiously bad ones.
I’m gonna briefly summarize & reword chapter-specific stuff from the first thread because it’s more likely that people find out what’s going on that way.
The adolescence chapter talks about things like ROGD and “gender exploratory therapy” (a euphemism for conversion therapy). If you look at genderexploratory.com, one of the first things you’ll see is this article: “I Signed Up To Study Sexual Health. What I got Was Gender Ideology, Fetishism, and Porn“
The intersex chapter contains some shit about appealing to the comfort of parents of intersex kids over their genitals. The WPATH is hand-wringing about stopping forced intersex surgeries because the children’s parents might get upset over their children’s genitals.
The HRT section omits the hormone progesterone, which could make it more difficult for trans women and transfems in general to access it w/ insurance.
The child section puts in some exaggerated, speculative, and hypothetical “risks” of pre-adolescent social transition. Yes, social transition, the kind without any hormones, blockers, or medical intervention.
There is also an outright transphobic clinician on both the Adolescent and Child committees of WPATH, and this is gone over in more detail in the thread.
Please give your feedback as soon as possible. If you need any help with it, this thread has a lot of talking points on the adolescent chapter.
