Day 1 of quarantine: I’m going to use this as an opportunity to learn a new language, learn an instrument, teach myself how to paint, work on writing, take up cooking, meditate, do a big house clean and re-organization, get around to reading that book…

Day 8 of quarantine: I haven’t left the couch in 17 hours

gentle reminder to everyone that this is okay and in fact Extremely Normal. while it may in some ways feel like it, this isn’t an unexpected vacation but rather a global historical event that is traumatizing. Becoming one with your couch is valid and okay. Let yourself rest.

it’s also okay to do entirely useless things, such as learn the most useless bits of information, make some art for no one but yourself, learn elvish as i have done for absolutely no reason except i Can and it’s Fun

there’s no need to do 100% useful things, like clean the entire house or learn Spanish because it’ll be useful

it’s totally okay to become one with the couch and binge some shows or rewatch a ton of movies or read a fuckton of books

it’s okay to do seemingly “useless” things like play the same song on piano over and over because you can play it well and you don’t wanna learn anything else.

your usefulness in these times is not important, but your sanity and happiness is, so do those fun little “useless” things!!!!!

I mean, I know it’s because Blue’s magic is directly linked to emotions, but it feels like Yellow saying “you know I’m the emotionally constipated one. I don’t do feelings. Talk to weepy mum.”
