Looking at a pairing and thinking, I wanna follow you through all the alternate universes and tropes fanfic writers can imagine.

Correction:
with brienne it's like she's such a ball of poorly repressed anger and sadness and loneliness and devotion. like she's trying to be normal but she's so intense and so open that everyone looks at her and gets things about her that she doesnt even fully get yet. there's a lot of things required of a noble lady that she never picked up but somehow i think the defining thing is that she cant figure out how to hide
Your best writing happens when you stop worrying about what’s “good” and just write. Messy, chaotic, too-long sentences. Weird, overdramatic dialogue. Scenes that make you feel something. You can always clean it up later, but the rawest, realest writing comes from writing like no one will ever read it.
As someone who comes from a family just like the one described by this woman, wow. This may be the kindest thing I've ever heard of. Bless you!
Fun Story to Share.
I got my (now 18-year-old) daughter into Ao3 back in 2021. I taught her she should always comment - even if the fic looks old or abandoned or whatever. She did.
Well - she got this email this morning:
The fic was written in 2014 and essentially abandoned.
Bethy read and reviewed in 2021 (and was actually the only person who had commented at all).
Today in 2025 - the final chapter was posted by the author and this was her reply to Bethy’s comment.

Never question whether a fic is too old to comment on.
You, every night.
the holy grail types of fanfic
I will never forget this scene in hacks!! the acting here was so good I hope hannah einbinder can win some awards just for this alone.
