Obviously there are downsides to late transition, but the upside of transitioning in your 30s or 40s is that you spend a lot less time giving a shit about whether strangers will find you bangable. You post two selfies, go "okay, good enough", and then move on with your life. It's nice!

It's really not great how the focus of writing has become about the characters predominantly instead of a cohesive story, and aspiring writers will sit down and watch 189 character writing tricks videos and those videos will unironically call books like the three body problem "dull" and boring because the main character wasn't the driving force behind the plot (or, rather, the YouTuber misunderstood what the main character actually was because Western media is allergic to the idea of anything beyond the individual being the focus of a story). And those aspiring writers will internalize the need for a compelling or interesting character over the need of a compelling story and thats why most of you when discussing writing are so insufferable

I will respect straight woman when they can articulate one (1) thing that they desire in men that cannot be provided by women. None of them seem capable of doing this. Something that maybe doesn't get talked about enough is the phenomenon of young people who are employed and do make enough to move out on their own except: their parents are demanding extortionate rent payments from their children for the privilege of continuing to occupy their own home (while also berating them for not moving out).

I mean fuck landlords generally but fuck "I will turn this human being that I made into my eternal tenant" in particular

I think autistics are probably over-represented among (out) trans people not out of any particular predisposition or "inflexibility" or anything like that but because we can look at the pros and cons and see pretty clearly that we don't risk losing very much. Oh no, am I going to be treated as an outsider? Am I going to be condescended to even by people who consider themselves my friends? Are my perspectives going to be thoughtlessly discounted? Geez, how will I cope?

this is going to sound like such a little sibling ass take but i genuinely believe that being a little bit annoying is actually a greater sign of maturity and self awareness than being universally likeable and on good terms with everyone

if some people find me annoying and can't stand me because of how i think and act then that means i'm a fully realized human being with my own personality and opinions and free will and not just a reflective surface for other people's desires, which is in fact a good thing despite what people who want you to just be a reflection of their own opinions and desires will tell you, and why being considered "cringe" or whatever doesn't bother me at all

also it's really funny when you're confident enough in yourself to know that people not liking you isn't always a sign that you're the problem. like there's something undeniably hilarious about being aware your mere existence has the power to piss someone off and ruin their day and i recommend embracing it.
