If you had to sustain a relationship with someone who is the polar opposite of you, how would you describe them?

I’ve done this. He was a near perfect complement to me, when he wasn’t being a complete and utter fool.

what do you misplace the most?

My keys.

Are you a morning person? When do you usually wake up?

I am a morning person, but only out of habit not enjoyment. During the school year I usually wake up between 5am and 5:30. During the summers and extended breaks it’s more like 7 or 8am.

Hannah: I'm almost done, but there are a few desks that didn't make it back to my classroom for some reason, so I'm gonna have to go storage room hunting for them if you don't mind helping me look.

what's something people are surprised to learn about you?

I don’t necessarily make a secret out of the fact that I’m a published poet, but people are still surprised to learn it when they hear. But I do still write under a pseudonym so good luck finding any of it, internet.

what's your favorite book?

Les Miserables. All time favorite book. Not the abridged version either. All of the rambling background and exposition that is the original Victor Hugo.

how did you know you wanted to be a teacher?

I didn’t. I wanted to be a writer. But especially when you’re first starting out, writing doesn’t pay the bills. I did grow to love teaching though, which is why I haven’t left.

I feel like I say this every summer, but I really have no idea what to do with myself at this point. The first two weeks are all catching up on sleep, I’ve already had to move my classroom, and I’ve been to the beach more than usual. I’m bored and I need something to do before I implode.

First day of summer, but unfortunately I gotta work the whole weekend ‘cause Cactus is kicking the summer off with a blast — should I mention half-price margs, or the new, tropical-themed drinks we’re trying out for the summer? And, yeah, the dishes by yours truly are definitely also something you guys should check out. 

Anyway, anyone’s got something lined up for the summer? I’ll also take suggestions for a short vacation.

Watching Harry Potter has got me thinking. Imagine this: Harry Potter-themed laser tag. Everything is the same, however, instead of guns - you get a wand and a vest. And, the wand shoots light and stuff. You can choose your spells at the beginning of the game. Like, imagine it: Expelliarmus makes you unable to shoot spells for a few seconds; Lumos makes your wand shine enough for you to see; Stupefy turns off your opponent’s vest. No, but get this: it’s a maze and you’re not alone. No, there’s monsters and creatures, deatheaters too. The main goal of the teams would be to find the Triwizard Cup first before the other team does.

Ok. That sounds amazing. I’d be totally in to it, and I’m pretty sure my students would all have a blast with something like that. You should definitely look into making that happen!

I did a thing, Sanders. I did a thing and I don’t know if I was supposed to do the thing, but I did it? I bought a BOAT, and I’m so excited to go sailing on it? It can only seat like eight people though, so I guess I have to go make seven friends now? #awkward #boatfriends #hashtagsarenotfortumblrmiles
