I usually see stuntdriver as Driver being slightly shorter than Colt. But his long legs are just too noticeable every time he shows up on screen, so I let Driver be the taller one this time😎

So I had an idea and it’s a hitman!Simon x teacher!Grace au

Think:

Normal modern au without an end-of-the-world scenario

Simon is a hitman (unfortunately well-known as the “Butcher”) who doesn’t like his job and barely scrapes by, grew up in a cult and doesn’t know affection

Grace is a middle school teacher after failing in academia, basically a big cuddly golden retriever with self-esteem issues

Human Rockdrian, maybe the COI as an organisation

plenty of hurt/comfort, yearning, cuddles and shenanigans

More notes on this au:

Grocky are long time best friends and basically brothers, with rocky being a few years older (sorry to those hoping for coltland gentry but I haven’t watched those movies yet 😔 so grockydrian found family it is)

Rocky and Adrian are married obviously (I have more sketches focused on them so watch out for those)

Rocky and Simon bicker a lot by virtue being 2 very stubborn idiots, but they do have an appreciation for each other (and simon is eventually welcomed into the family 🥹)

“Damn Adrian’s really hot” I say as I actively try to draw them as hot as possible (can u tell who all the effort went to 😅)

Fun facts:

Rockdrian’s rings are engraved: Rocky’s says “It’s never enough”, and Adrian’s says “To the stars and back”

Adrian has a tongue piercing 👀😏

Simon’s pendant is secured in his pocket during missions; he doesn’t want to risk the string snapping at the worst moment

Grocky met during uni; pretty wild times, as you might assume

The incident that gave Grocky their scars involves dumb uni students, different types of science, and an egregious lack of lab safety; I’ll let you imagine the rest (they both blame themselves for it)

Grace has (unsurprisingly) the worst fashion sense out of all of them

Here they are in all their glory, the robot and the ship in human form

Yes I am making Armando the tired exasperated team medic and Mary their cheerful sassy getaway driver, I hear you and I love it

Notes:

Armando studied and trained in anaesthesiology before switching to general practice; he’s trained in first aid and some advanced medical treatments thanks to that

Mary studies exoplanets and monitors some star systems (brightness, position, etc); maybe or maybe not at NASA, I haven’t decided

Armando is the older brother, he’s the same age as Simon (younger than Grace); I might do some age references later

Armando always either has tinted glasses or sunglasses to protect his sensitive eyes; he also always has a bottle of sunscreen on hand

Mary is a prolific dancer; she started with ballet, learned the salsa, had a phase of breakdancing, and now does contemporary

Mary is only a good driver when it suits her; know the rules so you know how to break them, as one would say
