"I think everyone sometimes feels that way," the Brock boy went on to reply at first. "I do think though that you should give yourself a little grace. I can't say I entirely understand exactly what you mean about your abilities or the line, however...I think it's important that you are trying to make an effort to be better even still." Dylan offered gently. "I think it does, either way though, I am around if you need someone to talk to...even on a bad day."

Erika smiled at him. "I appreciate that so much Dylan, I mean it. Sometimes I just.." She shrugged. "I guess I worry too much about everything and you are right, I should give myself some grace." She nodded. "How do you handle everything that .. you go through?"

"Maybe I don't understand exactly what you mean in the way that you mean it, but I am different, and I do have siblings with abilties of their own...so I do understand you more than you think." He admitted. "And I don't think you're dangerous. Besides, clearly you care too much about taking care of others to actually hurt anyone. That makes you better."

She smiled at him, nodding her head. "I'm glad you think so." She took a deep breath. "But that still remains to be seen. My mom didn't want to hurt anyone and yet she still did." Erika feared her own powers.

Dylan glanced back at his friend glanced back at her, "I understand that more than you know." Now the son of Eddie and Megan Brock had no level of real superpowers or abilities, but he had experienced the whole symbiote thing before as a result of his parents and sister having their own respective versions most days. He had even once had Venom attached to him. So he did manage to understand a certain level of her words. "More than I admit to..." the photographer confessed. "But I'll say this," the Brock boy started up again. "You worrying so much about hurting someone else tells me everything I need to know. If you weren't worried, I'd be concerned but you don't want to hurt anyone. That almost means more."

Erika met his eyes, her expression thoughtful as she absorbed every word. As the daughter of Wanda Maximoff and Stephen Strange, power and consequence had always been part of her life, whether she wanted them to be or not. She’d seen what magic could do when it slipped even a little out of control. “I don’t always know where the line is,” she admitted softly. “Between protecting people and becoming the thing they need protection from.” She hesitated, then continued, “I worry because I’ve seen what happens when you stop caring about the damage.” Her voice steadied as she finished, “So if that fear tells you something about me… then I hope it means I’m still choosing to be better.”

Jonathan couldn't help the smile that crossed his lips then, "You're really sweet." The adoptive Stark brightened a little further. He really, too, felt happy and comfortable with Erika even if it had ultimately been unexcepted. "Beautiful too, but I know you think I tend to just flirt with everyone...though truth is I only do it when I'm really interested."

"Maybe you are being truthful, I just.." She took a deep breath, opening up to people was dangerous and she knew that. But Jonathan made her feel comfortable and seen.. and respected. "I never said there was anything wrong with protocol, however...I'm sorta part alien. So perhaps at times it is easier to just do what works. Besides, you can't tell me my plan didn't sound better originally." Her friend to interject. The daughter of Eddie Brock rolled her eyes. "Didn't it?"

"That might be part of it." Erika laughed softly. "I'll agree your plan did originally sound better, that's why I agreed to it." She shook her head. "I'm just glad we were successful in it." She shook a bit. "I just didn't like that we were a bit reckless."

Besides, this gave me a really good excuse to make my tortellini soup again; it's soooooo good. Not to brag, but I really think you're in for a treat. Believe it or not, this recipe came from one of my friends back at San Quentin. I didn't have to make adjustments or anything too it; it's that good."

Scott arrived at the cabin with a big bowl of creamy tortellini soup and a container of cheesy garlic bread for dinner. As promised and by her request, he made one of his favorite Italian dishes, and she was to provide tiramisu.

His hands were full though, considering he held the crockpot of soups in both hands and the container of bread was tucked under his arm. So when he got to the door, the best he could do for knocking was tapping the bottom of the door with his foot.

Erika heard the knock on her door and answered it. She stepped out onto the porch and held the door open. "Is there anything I can help you with Scott?" Her eyes fixed on his.
