Let's say I really wanted to reduce the number of children who die in car accidents. Car accidents are really bad, right? Nobody disagrees about that. And it would be much better for both the environment and the kids' health if they spent more time walking, or taking the bus. Perfectly reasonable. More cars off the road, safer roads, fewer kids getting hurt, healthier kids. A win-win!

Therefore, let's ban children from traveling by car and require all cars to have a scanner on the door that scans the government ID of everyone who gets in the car to make sure no kids are in there. After all, kids get hurt in car accidents all the time! We need to ban this right away!

Hey what if after getting superpowers Peter Parker didn’t put two and two together and became a different superhero like Gecko Guy or something

And then a couple years later after he’s a well established hero he suddenly starts shooting out organic webbing

And only now does he realize that getting bit by a radioactive spider and gaining superpowers on the same day was not in fact just a coincidence

It's so obvious. He is Duct Tape Man!

Probably he got his powers from when Flash taped him to a wall as a prank and he was stuck there for hours. Yup. Everything checks out. He can be the binding force keeping things together. He does the MCU ferry thing early on which really cements his schtick (and his stick!)

As he gets into bigger fights he wishes there was more of him to hold all the damaged buildings together. Idea! If he modifies a tape dispenser.... Yes! He can now shoot his specially made super adhesive tape! No more falling rubble during villain battles!

Once he builds that, he builds other gadgets like his special grapple gun (which also using tape-like technology instead of a hook for less damage) which is a real game changer with traversing the city.

Duct Tape Man is very surprised when he's thrown into another universe with a bunch of creepy spider themed heroes. Some of them even look like him. And act like him. And have the same powers.
