Any Oikawa x Kenma cute scenarios headcanons.
The first time that Oikawa and Kenma meet, Oikawa kind of scares Kenma. Kenma wants things to be as low-effort as possible and really just wants to keep to himself and thereâs this loud and flamboyant tall person talking at him. Itâs even more terrifying that Oikawa gets along so well with Kuroo, which means that Kenma has to see more of this loud person.Â
Luckily, Oikawa isnât the kind of loud and intense that people like Bokuto are or people like Kageyama are, and he knows how to observe and listen, just like Kuroo, so Kenma gets used to Oikawa more quickly than he expected. Oikawaâs also very good at bribing Kenma with apple pie at the right times.
As for Oikawa, he canât quite decide what nickname to give Kenma when he meets him. Oikawa is initially somewhat polite and goes for âKozume-chanâ, but that feels too long and too uncomfortable. He tries âKen-chanâ for a while, but that gets a wrinkly nose face from Kenma. Oikawa keeps trying new nicknames, but he defaults to âKenmaâ with every new failed attempt.Â
Kenma, on the other hand, starts by calling Oikawa âTooruâ without any honorifics. Oikawaâs surprised. No one but his family calls his âTooruâ (and sometimes people pick up Iwa-chanâs very rude nicknames instead), so itâs a nice change.Â
Kenma and Oikawa sort-of bond over their love of sweets, though Oikawa tries very hard to convince Kenma that milk bread is better (Kenma thinks milk bread is okay, but Oikawa is very clearly wrong about it being better than apple pie). Kuroo is exasperated and amused by their diets of choice (Iwaizumi gave up on Oikawa long ago and only complains when Oikawa makes him pay for the milk bread because dammit Oikawa youâre a grown man pay for your own shitty food).Â
As Kenma and Oikawa spend more time together, they actually realize that they get along pretty well. Oikawa can fill his own silences without forcing Kenma to have to talk a lot. Kenma is both bewildered and amused by Oikawaâs love of aliens. He gives Oikawa recommendations of alien-related video games and tips for how to progress when Oikawa gets stuck and frustrated. The one time that Oikawa took Kenma out to see an alien-based horror movie, Kenma wouldnât speak to him for a couple weeks after, so Oikawa learned to stick to dragging Iwaizumi.Â
They also bond over complaining about Kageyama (read: Oikawa complains loudly, Kenma just makes faint noises of agreement or doesnât bother to add any commentary - Kageyama is scary and itâs tiring just to watch him).
It ends up being that their favorite pastime is Oikawa watching Kenma play video games. It weirds Kenma out to have people watching him play, but Oikawa doesnât judge him and can sometimes even have useful commentary because of how observant he is. He can sometimes pick up on Kenmaâs characterâs weakness before even Kenma can.Â
