When Ms. Cobel was talking to Helena Eagan and she said “I think you’ve overestimated your contributions, and underestimated your blessings”, Cobel's reaction makes perfect sense considering what we later discover.

In that moment, she wasn't angry at Helena. That's not it. She was madly wrathful toward James Eagan and Lumon executives.

Becaus in that moment she realized: Helena Eagan doesn't know she invented the chip. James Eagan lied about that even to his own daughter! Even his own daughter is victim of Lumon propaganda, and the truth have been buried so deep not even the figurehead of the company knows it.

So far in the conversation, Cobel has been talking to Helena assuming she knows she was the inventor of the chip. But that single phrase from Helena made her realize the truth.

That's why she run away abruptly, and later decided to find her own original designs.
